Updates:PS5 Inventory is coming in across multiple retailers weekly, specifically with Playstation.com but it really depends retailer by retailer. Global Semiconductor Chip Shortages are also affecting PS5 production.
On the Playstation.com website console Pre-Orders were invite only. Invitations opened 9/18/2020 at 10AM PT and we confirmed that the process worked for many but not for all. The window was open until 10AM Pt on 9/19/2020. Playstation is selling Games and accessories in their website store. Burger King and Doritos were some of the retailers giving away the PS5 to a very small number of random winners.

When Will Ps5 Stock Stabilize
Unfortunately, PS5 shortages will likely continue through 2022. According to Bloomberg, Sony recently informed analysts that PS5 demand is outpacing supply. “I don’t think demand is calming down this year and even if we secure a lot more devices and produce many more units of the PlayStation 5 next year, our supply wouldn’t be able to catch up with demand,” CFO Hiroki Totoki reportedly said during a meeting with analysts.
However, Sony does plan to ramp up PS5 production over the summer and into the second half of 2021, so you may have a better shot at buying one before this holiday season. In an interview with Wired, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said they’re working hard to improve the PS5 stock situation. “We see production ramping up over the summer and certainly into the second half of the year, and we would hope to see some sort of return to normality in terms of the balance between supply and demand during that period,” Ryan said.
Can I Get A Ps5 In
With lockdown easing in the UK, you may be hoping to have a better chance of nabbing a PS5 from a physical store. Unfortunately, that doesnt seem to be the case.
While retailers such as GAME, John Lewis and ASDA have reopened their stores, the console hasnt yet being sold in-store.
That might now be changing as a poster was recently seen in a Smyths Toys store promoting the fact that the PS5 console can now be pre-ordered in the physical store.

Some retailers, such as Argos, are also making the console available via Click and Collect so you can order online and collect it from your local store. There do seem to be regional variations, though, so Click and Collect may not be an option for all retailers or stores. We suggest checking with your local store for details on how it is working in your area.

Well, it’s been more than five months and so many of the gamers seeking a PS5 are still trapped in a constant cycle of waiting for restocks, logging on at the exact right moment and getting nothing more than a “sold out” message for their troubles. You’d think that demand for a gaming system that dropped last November would have waned by now, but high demand, exacerbated by low supply caused by a global chip shortage, has continued to make it difficult for Sony to produce enough consoles for everyone who wants one.
But don’t lose hope! Sony’s PlayStation Direct has been holding brief restock events almost weekly, and those who continue to queue up for a PS5 might also have a chance to get an email to get into the front of the line. GameStop also continues to receive bundles. And if you’re not already on Twitter keeping an eye out for inventory drops at the major retailers, you should be: They’re happening more and more often.
If you’re willing to shell out way more than the sticker price, you can get a PlayStation 5 or PS5 bundle at a reseller like eBay or StockX. But our advice is to wait until the console is available at its regular sticker price at retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, GameStop, Target and Walmart. Be sure to check back here often for the latest updates on when retailers might have new console restocks.

How Much Is The Ps5
The PS5 disc edition costs £449.99, while the PS5 digital edition is cheaper at £349.99. The standard PS5 is the exact same price as the new Xbox series x conveniently also out of stock at most retailers. But the Xbox series s is cheaper than the PS5 digital edition, costing just £249. Sonys PlayStation 5 console was released back in November last year, but even 10 months later there are still plenty of gamers across the UK and the world who are yet to get their hands on the next-generation machine.
Stock supply issues have plagued the PS5 since its 2020 release, and weve been hearing reports that the situation could continue well in 2022. But dont despair: theyre still regularly available online, and just because its difficult to buy one doesnt mean its impossible. Retailers are now regularly getting consoles.
It has been a busy morning for PS5 stock drops. Consoles are currently available at Argos. Sometime before 11 a.m., a drop will also go live at the retailer GAME. It also seems that a waiting list is now active at Very, so best to act fast.
According to PS5 Stock UK, a Twitter account that tracks console availability, GAMEs priority orders will be delivered by the 20th September, and the rest will be sent to customers by the 24th September. For the Argos stock, it appears that click & collect is currently being made available at many of the Argos stores in the UK.

There are several opportunities to get a PlayStation 5 this week, and we have the details on how.
There have been a lot more PS5 restock opportunities this month than in the last couple of months, which has been great for everyone still trying to get their hands on one. It’s Still Not Easy To Get A Ps5 But Things Are Looking Up
Walmart is restocking PS5 and PS5 Digital consoles today beginning at 6 PM PT/9PM ET.
The PS5 console restock will follow the previous system Walmart has put in place, where they’ll be released in batches every 10 minutes. That means if you miss your shot, you can try again until they use up their available stock.
And then you can try again tonight. It’s not a perfect system but at least it feels like you have a fighting chance for once.
If you’re in the US and you’re still searching for a PS5, my condolences. The PS5 restock situation has been a massive pain since the PS5 preorders first went live on September 17, 2020. If you’ve been able to actually load a retailer’s page enough to check-out during a restock, you know the process has been plagued by technical problems, dashing the hopes and dreams of many.
However, things are looking up. Sony said PS5 production is on track for 22 million consoles by the end of its fiscal year, and it’s already sold 10 million PS5s in spite of the immense problems with supply.
Ps5 Restocks At Walmart
Walmart last had the PS5 in stock on September 23, and it sold out almost instantly. Oftentimes, Walmart PS5 restocks are announced with a few hours’ notice and usually happen at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET, with more stock releasing every 10 minutes over a little less than an hour.

What About Heat And Noise
The PS5’s monstrous footprint gives it one significant advantage over its predecessor in that the console is basically silent and heat production is also minimal. We have noticed a bit of coil whine on some units, which is where the console emits a faint electrical noise during certain games, but compared to PS4 its a monumental improvement.
The PS4 and PS4 Pro were renowned for their ability to kick up the system fans to obnoxious levels and output lots of heat, particularly on the earlier models, so those looking to pick up a PS5 will be relieved to hear that those problems have been eradicated.
We held our hand near the system during a long play session, and although the PlayStation 5 was clearly outputting hot air it was emitting far less than what the PS4 Pro would push out.
Very rarely in our testing did the fans reach an audibly loud level to the degree that the PS4 Pro did when running games like Horizon: Zero Dawn or God of War. However, that could simply be due to the fact that we haven’t seen any resource-heavy PS5 games yet. Sony has also promised that it plans to optimize the PS5’s fans using over-the-air updates, so the machine could get louder, or indeed quieter, when playing certain games later down the line.
