How Specs Impact The Ps5 Price
Hoping for a slightly lower PS5 price? We hear you. However, it’s actually fair value when you break everything down. If we were to build the PS5 from components that are on the market right now, it’d be much, much more expensive.
Let’s look at the GPU first. Right now, you’d be staring down the barrel of an RTX 2080 equivalent graphics card to handle ray tracing at any kind of decent frame rate or resolution. To produce ray tracing at 4K – before we even get to the 8K Sony has promised – you’d need a powerful chip like a Radeon VII, or whatever the Navi equivalent will be inside the PS5. Want it to hit 30 frames per-second and medium-high settings? You’d be looking at $800 / £600+ at a minimum.
Now, onto that SSD. If you go bargain hunting right this second, you’ll pay $350 / £300-ish for a 1TB NVMe SSD from the likes of Samsung. Yes, you can go cheaper, but Sony is claiming that the PS5’s SSD will outperform all current PC SSDs. As such, $350 / £300 or more is about right.
With that in mind, we’re already looking at $1,000 / £1,000+ build. And that’s before you take other parts into account. We assume 32GB of RAM at a minimum, a Ryzen 7 equivalent CPU with 8 cores , and all the cooling, power, wireless tech, and casing required to keep everything together. That’s another $500 – $800 / £400 – £700 at least.
What About Ps5 Bundles And Deals
We’ve only seen one official PS5 bundle and that was with Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and that was limited to a release in the UK and EU only with no sign of it in the US. This didn’t offer any sort of discount though, so it’s not like anyone was missing out.
Other PS5 bundles created by retailers have appeared. Usually with extra games, controllers, and other accessories. However, we don’t really recall seeing many offering any sort of discount – you’d easily be able to buy the extra items for less individually elsewhere. These bundles are essentially taking advantage of the huge demand for stock and getting even more money from a sale. Some retailers have even bundled the PS5 with more bizarre items like PC monitors, often at what are clearly inflated prices for often very average pieces of tech. Sadly, even these deals are still selling out.
Suffice to say, retailers have been very busy over the last few months. And after everything we’ve seen recently, there’s more than enough reason to consider picking up the PS5. For starters, all the upcoming PS5 games are shaping up to be something special. Secondly, the system’s blindingly fast loading times improve the user experience by leaps and bounds even on older PS4 games.

The PS5 launched in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, the PS5 on 12th November 2020. It arrived in the rest of the world on 19th November 2020.

Should You Buy Ps5 Or Ps5 Digital Edition
You can buy one of two version of the PS5 today – the standard disk version, or the Digital Edition. The former allows you to play your physical PS4 and PS5 games, however you can still access your downloaded PS4 titles on the Digital Edition as well.
The cheaper £359 PS5 Digital Edition doesn’t have a disk drive, but still runs the same specs as the full fat console. That means you can buy PS5 for less today and you’ll still be running the latest tech from Sony.
However, there’s only 825GB in this SSD and that’s going to fill up quickly, provided you don’t grab an external HDD for your PS4 games. If you’ve got a substantial physical collection already then it might be worth upgrading to the main console.
That said, it’s difficult to buy PS5 either way right now, with launch seeing an incredibly limited number of consoles hitting the shelves. While we wouldn’t necessarily advise settling for the console you can get , if you’re set on buying PS5 today you might have to take what you find.

Should You Buy Ps5 Today
With stock looking low and delivery dates being pushed back, it’s worth wondering if you need to buy PS5 today. In general, we would say that the earlier you can get your hands on Sony’s next-generation console the better. We don’t know what stock is going to look like for the next few months so the sooner your delivery date the better.
However, if you’re after bundle deals and can hold off, you might want to think about buying PS5 when stock settles down further into the new year.

A flurry of PS5 restock activity has us hopeful for more units over the next two weeks
PS5 restocks have been on fire this week, with new units hitting the shelves at Best Buy, Target, Sony Direct, and Walmart over the past few days. We’re certainly seeing a ramp-up in activity as we get closer to official Black Friday PS5 deals, then, with plenty more stores opening up their virtual doors with the hopes of drawing shoppers to their early offers.
Whether this activity will be sustained remains to be seen, but things are looking hopeful. We’ve seen consistent PS5 restock activity throughout the whole of November, after a few dry weeks in October. That means the floodgates may be inching open on all those boarded-up consoles in the Walmart warehouse.
So, where should you look for a PS5 restock between now and Black Friday itself? And how will stock fare on the big day itself?
Walmart Plus is giving customers early access to both PS5 restocks and Black Friday deals this year. That means there’s plenty of value in taking the service out for a spin. The membership costs $13 a month, but you can pick up a 15 day free trial to test it out first.
Verizon has recently announced that it will be selling consoles in the near-future, and GameStop has been suspiciously quiet of late. Given the flux of activity over the last week, it’s not unreasonable to expect more PS5 stock, either in-store on online, here next week.

How To Preorder Playstation 5
Sony India’s Sony Center is an authorized retailer that sells the company’s offerings including the PlayStation 5. ShopAtSC offers free home delivery or pickup from the nearest Sony Center from today with the latter possible only if the stores are open. To purchase from ShopAtSC, you should have an account, so you need to create one in advance.

Notably, this will be the ninth time that the Standard Edition of the PlayStation 5 is available back on stock in the country and the sixth time for the Digital Edition. Since its launch, there have been issues with the restocks in India. Previously, online retailers have not been able to handle the load and the orders of many potential buyers were canceled by the e-commerce giants such as Flipkart and Amazon among others.

Today at 12pm noon, both variants of Sony’s next-gen console the Rs. 49,990 Blu-ray-equipped PS5, and its Rs. 39,990 disc-less counterpart PS5 Digital Edition will be up for pre-order in India. Amazon, Croma, Flipkart, Games The Shop, Prepaid Gamer Card, Reliance Digital, Sony Center, and Vijay Sales will be involved and both PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition will be available across the board, platform no bar. Unfortunately, the biggest worry continues to be the minimal PS5 stock that Sony India is able to manage for India, month over month. The July 12 PlayStation 5 restock will be just the fifth time third for PS5 Digital Edition the flagship console is being made available for pre-order, and Sony has been unable to serve its fanbase properly.
While the rest of the crowd , Croma, Flipkart, Games The Shop, Prepaid Gamer Card, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales hasn’t given us shipping dates, expect them to be in line with Sony Center’s estimates. If you are lucky, it might even end up being earlier. For the June PlayStation 5 restock, several customers reported on groups and forums that their PS5 pre-orders were shipped much before the announced shipping date.

Where Can I Buy A Ps5 Right Now
Due to the pandemic, most retailers, including Best Buy and Target, will only sell the console online until further notice. We see restocks happening multiple times in the week from various retailers most notably, we have seen frequent restocks recently appear at Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart in particular. If you are looking for a bundle, retailers like Antonline and Newegg are likely to sell PS5 bundles instead of the actual console.
We have noticed that restocks for the console are more likely to happen later in the week as opposed to earlier in the week. Additionally, places like Newegg are combatting the demand for this console by doing a Newegg Shuffle, which randomly selects winners interested in buying sought-after products.
Every PS5 comes with one DualSense controller, but you can use the DualShock 4 controller, but it is only limited to when youre playing PS4 games on the next-gen console.

Playstation 5 Stock Shortage
Sony had only planned on the production of 5 million PlayStation 5 games consoles by the end of March 2021. However, as the popularity of gaming exploded during the first lockdowns, Sony doubled PlayStation production to meet 10 million units by the same date.
Sadly, it wasn’t enough.In May 2021, Sony privately warned analysts that PlayStation 5 shortages would continue until 2022: “I dont think demand is calming down this year and even if we secure a lot more devices and produce many more units of the PlayStation 5 next year, our supply wouldnt be able to catch up with demand,” said Hiroki Totoki, Sony’s Chief Financial Officer.
On 12th November 2021 the PS5’s first birthday Sony Interactive Entertainment boss Jim Ryan addressed historic demand for the PS5 in a PlayStation.Blog post. Ryan admitted that “inventory constraints remain a source of frustration for our customers” and said that Sony is “laser-focussed” on shipping as many console units as possible.
It all sounds very positive but the truth is, the company expects to produce one million fewer consoles 15 million, rather than 16 million in the financial year ending March 2022.
