Configuring The Play Area
“The recommended play space measures approximately 10 feet by 10 feet total, with the user in VR sitting about 5 feet in front of the PlayStation Camera / TV. Clear an area larger than the Play Area of all obstacles before using PS VR, and make sure that no walls, furniture, or objects can impede your VR play space.”
Setting Up The Processor Unit
Its best to position the processor unit close to your console.
First of all, take your PSVR headset and locate the attached cord, which splits into two plugs at the end. Plug both of them into the front of the processor unit.
Then, locate the existing HDMI cord that runs from your console to your TV. Unplug the end that is connected to your console and plug it into the HDMI port on the back of the processor unit that reads HDMI TV. You should now have a HDMI cord running from the TV to the HDMI port marked TV on your processor unit, with no HDMI cord plugged into your console.
Take the new HDMI cord included with the PSVR bundle. Connect it to the second HDMI port on the processor unit that reads HMDI PS4 . Then, plug the other end of the cord into the HDMI port on the back of your console.
Locate the micro USB cable included in the bundle. Plug the micro plug into the processor unit and the standard USB plug into one of the consoles USB ports in our experience, weve found that connecting this cord to the front USB port, not the rear one, results in fewer errors.
Lastly, plug in the power adapter into a power point and the other end into the processor unit.

Can I Use Ps Vr Without A Tv
The short answer is that you can, and you don’t need to do anything different to get the peripheral hooked up you’ll just skip a single cable connection. Here’s what to do.
Power off and unplug your PlayStation 4 or 5.
Connect the PlayStation Camera to the port on the back of your console.
If you’re using PS VR with a PlayStation 5 console, you will need a free Playstation Camera Adapter from Sony.
Find a suitable place for your PlayStation Camera where it will “see” you while you’re playing. Not having a TV to put the camera on top or in front of is the other major difference. Sony recommends it be about four and a half feet from the floor and six feet away from where you’re standing or sitting.
You should avoid putting it on the floor to make sure it can properly register the lights on your VR headset and controllers . Instead, you can put it on a desk, table, or chair.
Connect the Processor Unit to your console with an HDMI cable, plugging it into the HDMI PS4 port on the back of the box.
You can leave the HDMI TV port open this is the only difference in how you set up PS VR without a TV.
Run a cable between the micro-USB port on the back of the Processor Unit and a USB port on the front of the console.
Connect the power cord into the PS VR’s AC adapter, and then connect the cable to the back of the Processor Unit. Plug the power cord into an outlet.

Visually, the PS4 was the clear design inspiration for the PSVR. Theres a sleek rounded design that goes well with its black and white colorway. The visual aesthetic of the headset really looks wonderful once the LED sensor lights up. Once in operation, the PSVR provides a cool light show between the headset and Move Controller LEDs especially if people watch while someone is playing in the dark.
Compared to other VR devices from Meta, HTC and HP, the PSVR is one of the most comfortable for a handful of reasons. First, its only .2 pounds heavier than the Meta Quest 2 while feeling just as light during operation. Theres a good balance of weight all around that makes it easy to freely move your head. Instead of using a strap like most VR headsets, the PSVR features a circular band that sits on top of the head.
This allows users to push and pull the headset toward or away from their face by holding a button on top of the faceplate while tightening it with a dial on the bands rear. The cushions on both the forehead and behind the head are comfortable. However, prolonged usage over the years has led to a bit of decay on the cushions on my unit.
On the band is a 3.5mm headset jack with cutouts to hold the included earbuds in place. Its a nice touch that keeps the design uniform and prevents your headphones from dangling or getting in the way during gaming. Audiophiles looking for richer audio can also plug in their earbuds, headphones or gaming headset of choice.
How To Fix A Controller That Wont Turn On

Other Things You Need To Know
As mentioned, there are a few small differences between using the PSVR with a PS4 versus using it with a PS4 Pro.
Thankfully, all PlayStation VR games work with both consoles, so if youre worried about game support, you dont need to be.
Thanks to the extra processing power in the PS4 Pro, however, the graphics will be slightly better during normal gameplay.
