On Uplay, and Xbox One the game will be on sale August 16-27. On Steam, a similar sale will be available but will instead end August 20. On PS4, the sale goes live today, August 14, and remains available until August 25.

Rainbow Six Siege Is Free To Play This Weekend On Pc Ps4 Xbox One
It’s time for another Rainbow Six Siege free weekend.
Ubisoft has announced that this weekend, it’ll be hosting a Rainbow Six Siege free weekend on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The free version includes access to all maps, modes, and operators available in the full version. It’s available now to pre-load on PC, and PS4 – Xbox One players won’t be able to pre-load the game.
For this free weekend, you will need PlayStation Plus, but not Xbox Live Gold. Any progress you make carries over to the full game if and when you buy it, but that doesn’t include the Starter Edition on PC.
The weekend is available May 17-20, and all versions of the game will be on sale for 50% off.

Rainbow Six Siege Free Weekend Starts August 16
If you’re looking for a tense, tactical game where skill and cunning are equally important, than look no further than Rainbow Six Siege. Starting Thursday, August 16, PS4, Xbox One, and PC players can play the game for free until August 20.
If you find yourself hungering for some more Siege after the weekend, you can pick up the Starter, Standard, Advanced, Gold, and Complete Editions of the game for a discount of up to 60% off if you purchase before August 27. Players who participate in the free weekend will see all of their progress carry over.
The free weekend coincides with the Six Major Paris tournament, Europe’s largest Rainbow Six Siege competition ever. Tune in to witness the best professional players from around the world compete at the highest level. The tournament will take place from August 13 to August 19 and be broadcast on twitch.tv/Rainbow6.
The Six Major Paris broadcast is also the place to see the full reveal of Siege’s next season, Operation Grim Sky. The new season will feature two new Operators an American Attacker and a British Defender as well as a completely reworked Hereford Base map.

As promised, Ubisoft has launched a free weekend event for Rainbow Six Siege on all platforms. Those on PS4, Xbox One, and PC can try out the full version of the excellent game, albeit with a caveat in the case of the PS4 version.
Siege’s free weekend is active now and available to everyone on PC and Xbox One. The latter is true even if you don’t have an Xbox Live Gold membership, which is often a requirement to take part in these events. However, if you want to try Siege out on PS4, you’ll need to be a PlayStation Plus member to do so.

Because you’re downloading the full game, you will have access to all maps and modes. Not all operators will be unlocked, however, but you will be able to unlock them at the regular rate.
All the progress you make during the free weekend will carry over to the full version if you decide to buy it. If you buy the PC Starter Edition, your progress won’t carry over because this particular edition has certain progression caps.

How To Get The Rainbow Six Siege Ps5 Upgrade
First, players must own the PS4 version of Rainbow Six Siege on the PS4 to get this PS5 upgrade;for free. This includes multiple versions of the game:
- Standard
- Year 4 Ultimate
- Year 5 Gold
As long as players have any one of those versions of the game, the PS5 version will show up as free. First, players have to go the PlayStation Store and search for the game. The store is on the far left side of the PS5 home screen. The free PS5 version of Rainbow Six Siege will show up in the search and say Free Upgrade in the games title. Choose that item on the store and start downloading it.
Just make sure to actually play the PS5 version after it installs. Go to the home screen and check if game title. If it says PS4 near the title after a vertical bar, press the Options button, go to Game Version, and choose the PS5 version. Look at the above Yakuza screen shot for an example.
Like many other PS5 upgrades, the PS5 version is around 20 GB smaller than the PS4 version and that PS4 version is worth deleting after the fully installing and signing into the PS5 version. Progress will transfer over smoothly and all of the trophies earned in the PS4 version will automatically pop in the PS5 version. And since this is all server side, the opposite should work as well.

FossBytes.com stated that Ubisoft is still solving the issue regarding players who had a hard time targeting their enemies, as well as testing a rim lighting effect to prevent several Operators’ skins from blending in the background.
