The first PS5 restock of the week has come and gone. Target held its latest PS5 restock earlier today. Though, the console sold out at a rapid speed. However, rumors indicate we could see a GameStop restock in the near future and Best Buy is also another likely candidate for a drop.

How Specs Impact The Ps5 Price
Hoping for a slightly lower PS5 price? We hear you. However, it’s actually fair value when you break everything down. If we were to build the PS5 from components that are on the market right now, it’d be much, much more expensive.
Let’s look at the GPU first. Right now, you’d be staring down the barrel of an RTX 2080 equivalent graphics card to handle ray tracing at any kind of decent frame rate or resolution. To produce ray tracing at 4K – before we even get to the 8K Sony has promised – you’d need a powerful chip like a Radeon VII, or whatever the Navi equivalent will be inside the PS5. Want it to hit 30 frames per-second and medium-high settings? You’d be looking at $800 / £600+ at a minimum.
Now, onto that SSD. If you go bargain hunting right this second, you’ll pay $350 / £300-ish for a 1TB NVMe SSD from the likes of Samsung. Yes, you can go cheaper, but Sony is claiming that the PS5’s SSD will outperform all current PC SSDs. As such, $350 / £300 or more is about right.
With that in mind, we’re already looking at $1,000 / £1,000+ build. And that’s before you take other parts into account. We assume 32GB of RAM at a minimum, a Ryzen 7 equivalent CPU with 8 cores , and all the cooling, power, wireless tech, and casing required to keep everything together. That’s another $500 – $800 / £400 – £700 at least.
How Can I Get Early Access To A Ps5 Restock
It has been explained before that one of the best ways to ensure a console is ready to be purchased immediately was to make sure you had an account created and were logged in, but there’s another way to skip the line a little. While most retailers very much want you to show up when something is marked in stock, the extended difficulty in getting a PS5 has encouraged GameStop to offer early access to sales for its paid members.
If you want to increase your chances of getting a PS5 from GameStop, all you need to do is sign up for the PowerUp Rewards Pro program. This is a subscription program GameStop has had for years, and it uses this program to offer discounts and coupon codes as well as a subscription to Game Informer magazine.
This program costs $20 per year, and if GameStop is true to its promise people who are a part of this program will be able to get a PS5 before it is available to everyone on the website.

How Can I Get A Ps5 From Playstation Direct
The store with the most frequent PS5 restocks is Sony’s official store, PlayStation Direct. Drops usually happen at 2 p.m. PT during the middle of the week . What Sony has done lately is give a lucky few email invites for exclusive access to the store, which typically starts at 12 p.m. PT .
To get one of these special invites, you not only need luck, you also need a PSN account. You can sign up for one on the PSN website and it’s free. While signing up, make sure to accept marketing emails from Sony. From here, it’s a matter of being patient and having a little luck on your side. It appears priority access emails are sent randomly, but you will need to partake in one of the queues on PlayStation Direct in order to be considered.
PlayStation Direct PS5 restock works a little differently than other retailers. At the start time, there’s a welcome page with a countdown clock indicating when the queue will start. You can stay on this page and when time is up, the website will begin placing people in line to buy a PS5. The page will update and say how long you’ll have to wait, but it’s not a guarantee. To help your chances, once you’re in a queue, share the link with your other devices like your phone. Make sure each device uses a different IP address . This can improve your chances, as your other device might be put into a different line that moves at a faster pace. Even if you don’t get a PS5, as mentioned earlier, you still could get a pass to buy one on the next go-round.

Sony’s earlier DualShock 4 controllers had wear issues with the rubber surface on both analog sticks which exhibited excessive wear or tearing after short-term use. In January 2014, Sony issued a statement acknowledging an issue on 10% of controllers.
In early September 2016, Sony confirmed a second version of DualShock 4 controllers, known as the DualShock Version 2 , which hosts slight improvements over the original DualShock 4, including USB communication, improved triggers and joysticks, a longer battery life and the ability to see the light bar from the top of the touchpad. It released on September 15, 2016.
In the first generation controller, the light bar is a permanently illuminated, bright-colored light. Playstation 5 Price: Cheaper Digital Edition
Unlike the approach taken by Microsoft with the Xbox Series X and Series S, the full-fat, disc-playing PlayStation 5 and the more affordable, disc-less PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will have performance parity, with the optical drive the only difference between the two.
We predicted that the PS5 Digital Edition would dip below the magic £400 barrier, while the version with the disc drive might be more like £499 , and Sony has actually trumped our expectations in the UK at least.

It’s been a great week for getting a PS5.
The next PS5 restock from PlayStation Direct is today, starting at 11 a.m. PT , according to emails sent to those in the Sony waiting line. This is the third PS5 restock from PlayStation Direct this week, and the available window today will be five hours long. In the past, everyone who received a PS5 restock email had three hours to make their purchases before any remaining consoles were made available to the public.

To get your PS5 in an actual store, GameStop will have consoles for you this Friday. The retailer announced stores in the following cities will have a PS5 restock in-store:

If you don’t want to camp out in front of a store and you miss today’s restock, there are a couple of ways to get an early heads-up for online availability. What About Playstation Vr
The original line of PlayStation VR headsets are compatible with the PlayStation 5, with caveats. The existing, PlayStation 4-based VR headsets require the PlayStation Camera, and if you want to connect that peripheral to the PlayStation 5, youll need a special adapter you can only order from Sony.
Additionally, the PS5 only supports the PSVR in PS4 games running in the PS5s backwards-compatibility mode. PS5 native games cant use previously released PSVR hardware at all. This, combined with the slowdown of new software for PSVR, makes it a poor investment for most people, though there is a solid library of existing titles for VR newcomers who are looking for things to play now, and arent worried about obsolete hardware.
PlayStation is working on new PS5-specific PSVR hardware which it claims will use just a single cable to connect to the console, but the release date for it is yet to be determined. With continuing supply issues for just about all consumer electronics devices, the wait could be longer than even PlayStation would like.

We’re not expecting any discounts on the PS5 console itself at all on Black Friday, so you don’t need to worry about buyers remorse by seeing a better deal. They’re going to be locked in at MSRP for a long, long time.
