Jake Randall, a YouTuber and reliable stock tracker, was tipping Target for a restock this week. This proven to be a very good call as the retailer restocked the console earlier today . Unfortunately, the console is now sold out once again.
A GameStop PS5 restock was also being tipped for this week. This information came from a slightly dubious Reddit source, but the user in question did provide some evidence to back up their claims. It’s worth keeping a close eye on GameStop just in case this untested source proves to be legitimate but at this point in the week, it’s looking less likely.
Elsewhere, there is the possibility that Best Buy could restock soon as it hasn’t restocked in more than a month, but nothing is confirmed yet. Amazon could also drop again although the retailer did restock last week so another restock so soon afterward is unlikely.
In frustrating restock-related news, Sony has confirmed that supply of the PS5 isn’t expected to get any better this year. This would mean restock shortages continuing into 2022. Fear not, however, we’ll be here every day tracking restocks until the console is available without issue.

The newest console from Sony, the Playstation 5, launched last year and sold out immediately on every online retailer from Amazon to Best Buy and GameStop to Walmart. Those who werent lucky enough to snag one have been forced to watch their social media feeds and favorite websites like a hawk in hopes of catching an unannounced restock, or surprise inventory drop. There have been both scheduled and surprise restocks with chances to purchase from retailers like Walmart . online as well. If money is no object for you, you can pay a private PS5 seller on eBay or elsewhere the ridiculous re-sale price right now and secure your console. That could cost you anywhere from $900 to $1,300.
GameStop will also have the PS5 in limited stock, but in-store only at select stores while supplies last on Thanksgiving evening. Currently, online rumors indicate that the GameStop drop will take place between 5-9 p.m. local time on November 25.
How To Buy A Ps5 At Best Buy
To be fair, Best Buy isn’t the only retailers to hold a PS5 restock exclusively for members of a premium rewards program, but what makes this drop so egregious is the cost of a Totaltech subscription. GameStop offers early access to next-gen console restocks through its PowerUp Reward Pro membership, but that costs a mere $15 annually.
Amazon has also experimented with offering Prime members priority access to PS5 restocks, but Prime costs a more reasonable $12.99 a month. Plus, Prime comes with a host of other benefits including access to the popular Prime Video and Prime Music streaming services, which made it worth having even before the PS5 restock perk was introduced.
As with most retailers, setting up a Best Buy account ahead of time should be your first priority. You want to make sure that your payment details and address information is pre-saved, in order to shave precious time off your checkout that could be the difference between securing a PS5 and being left empty-handed.
Previously, Best Buy PS5 restocks required that your refresh the product page until you see the yellow “add to cart” button or a grey “please wait” button. However, Best Buy’s new process places you in a queue. A pop-up windows says it’ll “verify your account” and check for inventory. So it pays to sign into your account asap.
If you see that the PS5 is no longer in stock, you might want to try again via an incognito browser window. Repeat the process until you manage to score a console.
