Playstation 5 Digital Edition $399
The PS5 Digital Edition is exactly the same as the regular PlayStation 5, but it doesnt have a disc drive, and costs $100 less. With every game requiring installs and hefty patches to be downloaded, nowadays a disc is essentially a key that allows you to play a game on your console. That means the value of buying a game on disc is almost entirely monetary these days.
And so, the main downside of the Digital Edition is that youll almost certainly be paying more for your games. Even new physical media is typically discounted faster after a game launches, and the second-hand market brings the price down even further. With the Digital Edition, youll be entirely reliant on Sonys store. Sales are fairly common, but rarely hit the lows of discs.
Gaming aside, the PlayStation 5 is the first console from Sony that plays UHD Blu Rays. While basically every streaming service at this point offers 4K movies and shows, none of them get close to the quality of physical media, thanks to the reduced bitrates required to send digital media from the cloud to your home. If this is something that bothers you, paying the extra $100 might be worth it.

In general, we would say that the earlier you can get your hands on Sony’s next-generation console the better. We don’t know what stock is going to look like for the next few months so the sooner your delivery date the better.
However, if you’re after bundle deals and can hold off, you might want to think about buying PS5 when stock settles down further into the new year.

Playstation 5 Price: Game Bundles
We’re already seeing retailers start to bundle the PS5 with the most popular titles, including FIFA 21, Marvels Spider-Man Miles Morales, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Call of Duty. Just don’t expect the first bundles to be cheaper than buying a PS5 and a copy of the game separately demand is so high that retailers are unlikely to offer discounts at this stage.
Beyond games, we’re also seeing the PS5 bundled with other treats and temptations. On the hardware side, there are a a few options to purchase your PS5 with one of the official PS5 accessories such as the DualSense Controller. Sadly the Pulse 3D headset is currently sold out almost everywhere, so there’s no little chance of seeing that in bundle. . Games aside, the PS5 will act as an entertainment hub. Sony has revealed it will come with Netflix, Disney Plus, Apple TV, Spotify, Twitch and YouTube from day one. But, as we recently reported, the PS5 appears to lack both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

How Much Is The Ps5
The PS5 disc edition costs £449.99, while the PS5 digital edition is cheaper at £349.99. The standard PS5 is the exact same price as the new Xbox series x conveniently also out of stock at most retailers. But the Xbox series s is cheaper than the PS5 digital edition, costing just £249. Ps5 Restock India: Pre
PlayStation 5 will be back in stock in India on August 26 at 12pm . Sonys own online store has updated its PS5 console page with the pre-order date. Along with Sonys e-store, the console will likely be available for pre-order via other online platforms that have previously had the console for sale as well. Listings for the PS5 are live on multiple such websites but with no date. PlayStation 5 was launched globally in November last year and arrived in India in February this year.
UPDATE: Vijay Sales confirmed to Gadgets 360 that both the standard and Digital Edition of PlayStation 5 will be available for pre-order on August 26 at 12pm .
The PS5 last went on pre-order in India on and like all previous instances, it was sold out in minutes. Now, a month later, the console will be available for pre-order once again so interested shoppers will have another chance to grab one if they are lucky. Sonys online store Shopatsc.com has revealed the date to be August 26 from 12pm .
While other websites such as , Flipkart, Games The Shop, Vijay Sales, Prepaid Gamer Card, Croma, and Game Loot have the console listed, there is no pre-order date mentioned that suggests they will go live via these listings on the same date, August 26.

We’ve seen more regular drops at certain retailers, like Best Buy and Walmart in the US, and Very and Game in the UK, but you’ll find all the retailers that have offered the chance to buy PS5 recently just below.
If you’re getting desperate to buy PS5, it can be tempting to head over to a reseller site. However, even though stock can be snapped up quickly it’s not impossible to get your hands on the next-gen console. We’d recommend staying well clear of these price hiked sites and instead sticking with retailers you know and trust.

Every retailer was seemingly impacted by shipment delays in April, as it was a pretty dry month for PS5 restocks across the board. However, things picked up massively in May, with retailers receiving a double drop of consoles. Sadly, the same cant be said for June and July, which were both fairly quiet for restocks. August, however, has been absolutely phenomenal. Lets just hope September will continue the pattern of daily console drops.
Each retailer has a different schedule for when they will drop the PS5 on their website, and below weve rounded up all the major ones, along with the best ways to get a console when they do end up arriving.

Playstation 5 Price: Cheaper Digital Edition
Unlike the approach taken by Microsoft with the Xbox Series X and Series S, the full-fat, disc-playing PlayStation 5 and the more affordable, disc-less PlayStation 5 Digital Edition will have performance parity, with the optical drive the only difference between the two.
We predicted that the PS5 Digital Edition would dip below the magic £400 barrier, while the version with the disc drive might be more like £499 , and Sony has actually trumped our expectations in the UK at least.
The most telling piece of news we’d had in the run-up to launch was the PlayStation 5 product page leak on Amazon France, spotted by , which stated that the PlayStation 5 would be 500 euros with the PS5 Digital Edition at 400. That turned out to be right on the money .
More recently, the PS5 Digital Edition seems to have mysteriously shed some weight . Eagle-eyed gamers claim that the latest version is 300g lighter than the launch model. It doesn’t look like Sony has changed the design, size or contents, so the theory is that the newer model is made using lighter materials.

Playstation 5 Games Price
Since NBA games publisher 2K announced the $70 price for its sports sim NBA 2K21, the consensus has been that there’s a PS5 games hike coming across the board.
That raises the standard by $10 from $60 which seems uncomfortable in the face of what many consider a fairly expensive games console full stop.
To be fair to both Sony and Microsoft, games pricing has remained the same since the launch of the original Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2005. Between game production values having gone through the roof and 15 years’ worth of inflation, it could have been a lot worse for the consumer.
And on a more positive note, we’re already seeing retailers offering discounts on PS5 games. Best Buy recently slashed the price of a slew of unreleased PS5 games including the latest by $10.

A PlayStation Plus membership is almost a necessity these days. While there are a couple of games — such as Fortnite — that can be played without the subscription, virtually every online game requires it.
