Persona : Eternal Punishment
Persona 2 remains the only Persona game to receive a direct mainline sequel with 2000’s Eternal Punishment. The game is both a sequel and an alternate timeline for its predecessor, with Innocent Sin party member Maya becoming the main character. Did you forget that Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is being ported to PlayStation 4 in just a couple of months? Well now you’ve been reminded. The stylish brawler has a new short but sweet trailer, which, to be honest, has sparked a surprising amount of hype within us.
To be fair though, that hype is built on the fact that we thoroughly enjoyed the original PS3 release. Ultimax is an incredibly fun fighting game, featuring a diverse character roster and a load of different gameplay modes. It’s a real shame, however, that Ultimax won’t have rollback netcode at least not at launch.

Persona 4 Golden Out Now On Pc Fans Campaign For Ps4 Port
Persona 4 Golden has broken free of being a PS Vita exclusive and is now available on Steam, but some fans still pray for a console release.
For years, Persona 4 Golden, an updated re-release of the original PlayStation 2 title, was considered the reason why you would buy a PlayStation Vita, Sonys ill-fated and now abandoned handheld.
Fans of the game, and those unable to play it for themselves, had always hoped that someday it would follow in the footsteps of other beloved PS Vita titles, like Gravity Rush, and see release on another, more readily available platform.
On Saturday, those wishes came true, as Atlus announced, as part of the PC Gaming Show, that Persona 4 Golden would be released on PC via Steam. Not only that, it released that very same day.
For those maybe only familiar with the games successor, Persona 5, Persona 4 Golden has you play as an ordinary high-school student who moves to a new school in a small country town called Inaba.
Instead of rebelling against society and stealing the hearts of selfish adults, you and your school friends learn of another world that exists inside of their televisions and which is being used to kill people.
Together, with the power of your personas you explore the various dungeons to save would-be victims and try to find and apprehend the criminal responsible.
It certainly helps that the game is being offered at only £15.99, with a £19.99 option that comes with a digital artbook and soundtrack.

The Persona Series Is Coming To Xbox And Windows Pc
UPDATE 13/6/22: The Persona series will also be heading to Steam and PlayStation, although no release date has been given.
A press release shared with Eurogamer states: “These beloved games will also be heading to Steam and PlayStation”. However, without a release date, this could be a timed exclusive for Xbox and PC.
Persona 4 Golden, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 5 Strikers are already available on Steam, so it makes sense to complete the set.
Persona 5 Royal is synonymous with PlayStation, but was recently removed from the PS Plus Collection of PS4 games available on Sony’s new console. Meanwhile Persona 3 Portable was originally released on the PSP and Persona 4 Golden on the PS Vita.

Representing another twist in the tale of this week’s Persona saga, it turns out the upcoming releases of Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable will actually only be PS4 versions. A statement issued by SEGA and Atlus said the two titles “will also be heading to Steam and PlayStation 5”, but the official website for the re-releases sports just a PS4 icon. Persona 5 Royal is also listed on the page and it does have a PS5 logo, meaning there is a clear difference to take note of.
An added layer of confusion, however, can be sourced from the fact both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S are listed alongside PS4 and PC. If Atlus is going the extra mile with a native port for Microsoft’s current-gen platform, what’s happened to the PS5 version? All we know for now based on this latest graphic at least is that Persona 4 Golden and Persona 3 Portable are only coming to PS4. Re-join us next week when a PS3 version is somehow announced.
Elsewhere on the site, it’s confirmed the two titles will only be getting digital releases on the PS Store. “DL version only,” it reads, meaning physical buyers are out of luck. Of course, it’s not like the two re-releases were going to take advantage of all the bells and whistles of the PS5, but it does at least confirm the DualSense controller won’t receive any support, and they won’t be utilising the SSD natively.

If that’s your main concern, know that Persona 4 Golden is still definitely worth it. While it lacks some of the visual flair of Persona 5, it makes up for it in spades with excellent writing and characters. … It’s an engaging setup and mystery that’s even more entertaining than the story of Persona 5.

Atlus critically acclaimed JRPG originally started out life on the PlayStation 2, before getting a well-deserved facelift for the PlayStation Vita and becoming one of that systems must-have titles. But is a Persona 4 Golden PS4 release possible? Lets have a look!

Persona 3 Persona 4 And Persona 5 Ps4 Ps5 Steam Releases Confirmed
Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal PS4, PS5, and Steam releases are also on the way. During the 2022 Xbox and Bethesda Games Show stream, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows Game Store PC ports of the RPGs were announced. However, it was later noted that the Steam storefront will offer it and PS5 ports will appear. The third and fourth games will be on the PS4, while the fifth will be on the PS5.
As a reminder, the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC will mark the non-handheld debut of Persona 3 Portable. This is the updated version of the original game that allows people to choose between a male or female protagonist. Each one has different Social Links. It previously only appeared on the PlayStation Portable.
Persona 4 Golden already appeared on Steam before. The game ended up coming to PCs via Steam in June 2020. The PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X releases mark the first time Persona 4 appeared on a console since its PS2 debut.
As for Persona 5 Royal, it was initially a PS4 exclusive ahead of these PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC releases. Its the updated version of the RPG that adds an additional semester and new characters like Kasumi Yoshizawa and Takuto Maruki.
Persona 5 Royal will be the first of the games to appear, and it will show up on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows Game Store on October 21, 2022.

Fighting Game Fans Will Once Again Be Able To Reach Out To The Truth In 2022
Persona 4 Arena is Ultimax headed to modern consoles. Atlus revealed during The Game Awards that the popular anime fighting game will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC in 2022.
Developed by Arc System Works, Persona 4 Arena Ultimatax is a fighting game spinoff of Persona 4 featuring familiar characters such as Chie, Yukiko and Teddie. It’s known for its heavily stylized graphics and fast-paced combat, both of which are typical of Arc System Works.
We praised Persona 4 Arena Ultimax for its accessibility in our original review, writing, “There are plenty of good things to say about Persona 4 Arena Ultimax. It looks and plays great, its easy to dive into for beginners, and rewarding to learn for veterans. Its irresistible sense of style speaks for itself, but given how much I love its predecessor, the biggest compliment I can pay it is that its 100% the sequel that Persona 4 Arena deserved.”
Mostly, though, it’s exciting to have Persona 4 Arena Ultimax on console for that excellent remix of “Reach Out To The Truth.”

Will There Be A Persona 4 Release Date For Switch Ps4 Ps5 And Xbox
Atlus hasnt officially announced a Persona 4 release date for any new platforms. However, wed be surprised if we didnt hear about it coming to one or more consoles this year. 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the Persona series, and bringing Persona 4 to Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox would be a great way to celebrate.
Before the Steam release, the games definitive version, Persona 4 Golden, could only be enjoyed on PlayStation Vita. While Persona 5 still hasnt made it off the PS4, Persona 4 was a great introduction to the series for many PC gamers. Hopefully, even more people will be able to play the game soon, especially since its getting more expensive to buy a Vita and a copy of Persona 4 and PC hardware prices have gone through the ceiling.
On the other hand, while we dont know of any reason why there wouldnt be a Persona 4 release date for consoles, Atlus can be weird with this sort of thing. It took Persona 4 12 years to get a PC port, and Persona 3 is still stuck on the PS2 and PSP. So, its entirely possible that the game inexplicably might not come to consoles.
Ironically, Persona 4 characters will be making it to consoles via a different route. A Persona 4 Arena Ultimax port is coming to PC, PS4, and Switch on March 17, 2022. Hopefully, this points to a further release of the original game in the near future.

There is no doubt whatsoever that Persona 5 Royal is a significantly better game. The additional content is generally excellent. I loved the two new confidants, as well as Akechis greater involvement. The gameplay is improved and there is more spare time to take care of a bigger range of activities.
