The PlayStation 5 is proving to be much more than a simple evolution.
More than a year after its November 12, 2020 debut, the PS5 is well on its way to being a major success story for Sony.
Despite supply issues, Sony’s latest console has sold more than 10 million times worldwide, making it the biggest console launch in US history.
In the UK, the console was made available to buy on November 19, 2020 and sold out instantly.
The PlayStation 5 comes in two forms – the PS5 console: £449.99 and the PS5 Digital Edition console: £359.99.
The only difference between the PS5 console and the PS5 Digital Edition console is the inclusion of an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive in the PS5 console. The PS5 Digital Edition console does not feature a disc drive.

However, stock and production issues have made it tough for fans to actually get their hands on either one, with some buyers last year finding their PlayStation 5 shipments arriving as cat food, or even a bag of grain instead.

Ps5 Bundles: What To Expect In The Future
We now have more of an idea about what PS5 bundles may look like once that stock settles down, and both FIFA and NBA look like a solid bets for the first few waves of bundles. We’d also look to the season regulars for a safe bet as well, with the likes of Call of Duty consistently occupying bundles, so expect to see to make its way into a few PS5 bundles. What Is The Ps5 Price
The PS5 price is $499.99 in the USA, £449.99 in the UK, and $749.99 in Australia. If you can live without a disc-drive and are happy to only have access to digital games then you might want to consider the PS5 Digital Edition price of $399.99 in the USA, £359.99 in the UK, and $599.99 in Australia.
For sure, both aren’t cheap, but we were certainly bracing for even higher prices before Sony finally confirmed them. Given the immense popularity and scarcity, we certainly wouldn’t expect any sort of price drop for the next few years though.
No matter how you look at it, that’s very comparable to the Xbox Series X price. And even though the PS5 Digital Edition is still a fair bit more than the Xbox Series S price, it’s not bad going considering the fact that this is the same PS5 console bar a disc drive.
Regardless of which system you get, they’re all great value the PS5 and Xbox Series X rival the best gaming PCs in terms of tech. Considering the fact that graphics cards like the brand-new RTX 3080 cost many hundreds of dollars alone, we dread to think how much all of the PS5’s components would cost separately. Not that anyone can buy RTX 3080 stock right now.
The high price of a PS5 is in part due to Sony teaming up with hardware giant AMD again to create best-in-class PS5 specs. More specifically, a modified third-generation Ryzen 3 processor and advanced Navi-based graphics that has enabled ray tracing, a supremely fancy lighting system.

There Are Actually Two Ps5 Consoles But Theyre Largely The Same
Like Microsoft, Sony is actually selling two versions of its upcoming next-generation console. For $499.99, you can buy a PS5 with a 4K Blu-ray drive. But for $100 less, at $399.99, you can buy the Digital Edition PS5 . Unlike Microsoft, the only thing that differentiates those two versions is which console has a disc drive and how much each one costs.
The PS5 is powered by a custom eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU and a custom AMD Radeon RDNA 2-based GPU that will provide 10.28 teraflops of raw graphical power. The console also uses variable frequencies on both the PS5s CPU and GPU, which could theoretically push the graphics to run slightly faster than normal when the CPU isnt running at peak. And that game-changing SSD I mentioned earlier?
