Yes, you read that correctly, Star Wars Battlefront 2 doesnt come with a Season Pass to buy. Seeing as so many people have fallen out of love with the idea of the Season Pass, and the fact that locking content away behind it only divided the Battlefront community, EA has decided the best thing to do is abolish them entirely.

EA hasnt gone into any post-launch specifics around Star Wars Battlefront 2 just yet, but its worth remembering that Titanfall 2 didnt launch with any paid-for DLC everything was free. Id be surprised if Star Wars Battlefront 2 adopted the same model just because its already going to have a larger captive audience than Titanfall 2 did but its certainly looking that way

Solo: A Star Wars Story Season

On May 3, 2018, EA Star Wars announced on stating that the second season of content would be based on the film Solo: A Star Wars Story. The first part of the season was released on May 16 and added a new game mode called Hero Showdown, starfighters to the Arcade, and a returning map from 2015’s Star Wars Battlefront, Jabba’s Palace, along with skins for Leia Organa and Lando Calrissian based on their disguises in Return of the Jedi. The second part was released on June 12 and added a new map set in the mines of the planet Kessel and a new variation of the Millennium Falcon as a hero ship, along with reintroducing the game mode Extraction, initially available only on the two new maps added with this season. New skins were also released for Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, and Chewbacca, based on their appearances in Solo.

Know How Star Cards Work

Although they were once tied to loot crates, Star Cards are now unlocked by earning experience points for individual classes, vehicles, and Heroes. Every time you level one up, you’ll receive a Skill Point that can either be used to purchase an unlocked Star Card, or upgrade an owned Star Card to the next tier there are four in total, running from Common to Uncommon, Rare, then Epic which makes its effects more powerful.

There are two different types of Star Cards, with Boost Cards providing a passive increase to one of your stats, while Ability Cards replace one of the abilities for your chosen class with another weapon or gadget. Ability Cards are only available for trooper classes, as vehicles and Heroes are limited to just Boost Cards. Remember that you can only use Skill Points you’ve earned for a specific class, vehicle, or Hero to purchase Skills Cards for them.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Progression And Customization

• Every match completed will earn you XP and credits based on your performance.
• XP increases your player level and credits can be spent to buy loot crates.
• Loot crates have a semi-random assortment of contents, including Star Cards , crafting materials , and credits to buy more crates.
• Most customization and progression is done by collecting and upgrading Star Cards.
• You’ll also be able to customize individual weapons and vehicles, though that isn’t in the alpha yet.

Hidden Controls In Starfighters

The way Starfighters work in Battlefront 2 isnt always obvious, and there are some killer tricks waiting to be used. Did you know you can look behind you to see who is chasing you? Just hold Left on the d-pad. Similarly, you can break missile locks by either putting debris between you and a missile or – and this actually works – you wait until the last second, and pull up while slowing to a near stop. The old Top Gun trick. You can also enter first-person mode by pressing down on the d-pad, but its more fiddly than playing in third-person. And if youre into it, you can invert the Y-axis in settings too.

How To Play Split

EAYou can play Battlefront 2 with a friend.

In Arcade mode, to play split-screen co-op, all you have to do is click on Arcade and go to either co-op or versus. Versus will let you customize pretty much every single thing in the game including troops available and team sizes.

There are also Battle Scenarios you can take part in that will help recreate events from the films, at least some of the scenarios do. We also have some dueling between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker on Yavin 4.

Choose the co-op option will give you the same things to choose from but youll instead be teaming up with your partner instead of going against. Whatever you decide to do, at least Arcade mode has you covered.

As an added bonus, you can also earn experience towards leveling up Star Cards in the offline modes, so thats a great option for those of you who are late getting to the game. Battlefront 2 is rapidly gaining players again so dont go in at a disadvantage.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to play co-op in the campaign. Thats not too much of dealbreaker, but if youre hoping to play through it with a friend then youre out of luck.

The single-player campaign is designed to bridge the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens so it would have been fun to share that experience with a friend. Fortunately, the multiplayer aspect includes content from the Prequel, Original and Sequel trilogies so there is still a lot of Star Wars action to enjoy.

Star Wars Battlefront : Multiplayer

Alongside the announcement of a single player campaign, EA also teased a raft of new multiplayer additions. The massive 40 v 40 battles of Battlefront return and youll also be able to play as characters from every era of the Star Wars universe meaning maps from every entry in the series will be playable.

So far we know that Darth Maul, Kylo Ren, Rey, Yoda, Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker all make the cut and its likely more will be announced in the run-up to its 17 November release. EA has also announced that split-screen co-op is possible on console versions of Star Wars Battlefront 2 so you can make the most of playing with a friend. Unfortunately, split-screen play is only available when playing offline and PC players dont have the option at all probably because EAs aware nobody really uses a PC for same-screen co-op play.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 Star Cards Work A Bit Differently

• In Star Wars Battlefront , Star Cards gave you new abilities and weapons. They do that and more now.
• Each class will have four star card slots: three that modify or replace your base abilities, and one that provides an overall passive bonus.
• Heroes have two Star Cards slots that modify their standard abilities .
• Star Cards come in color-coded rarity variations: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary.
• The rarer the card, the more powerful its effects. Legendary cards even add an extra modifier, such as reducing damage received for the Heavy class’s machine-gun toting Sentry mode.

Star Wars Battlefront : Beta Feedback Changes

Following the Star Wars Battlefront 2 multiplayer beta, the games developer DICE has responded to fan concerns.

Interestingly, over the course of the beta there was much outcry at the Loot Crate system and general player progression. DICE has said its looking into both concerns and has stated that it may switch up the Strike game mode to turn it into a best-of-three round game type instead of its winner-takes-all one-round setup.

DICE also states its going to nerf the Specialist class Infiltration ability as they believe its a touch overpowered right now. As part of that balancing act, its going to improve the First Order Flametrooper whom they believe is underpowered.

Aside from gameplay changes, DICE is also looking to bring in new systems to keep players grouped together during matches. To ensure this works, DICE is also looking to reward players who spawn together although its only going to implement this at launch.

Star Wars Battlefront : Pre

Sony has announced its releasing two limited-edition Star WarsBattlefront2 PS4 bundles.

The most exciting has to be a PS4 Pro bundle consisting of a Star Wars themed console and matching DualShock 4 controller complete with a mirror finish and First Order and Rebellion logos. It also comes bundled with a physical copy of Star Wars Battlefront 2 Deluxe Edition. The second, cheaper bundle consists of a Jet Black 1TB PS4 Slim, one controller and a copy of the standard edition of the game.

Both bundles have been announced for Europe and the UK however, at the time of writing, no retailers seem to be carrying it or offering up a price point.

Star Wars Battlefront 2s first piece of DLC is finally here and its totally free!

We already knew that EA was doing away with the season pass for Star Wars Battlefront 2, but that doesnt make it seem any less cool that Star Wars: The Last Jedi content is completely free. Its not an insignificant update either, with a new chapter being added to the single-player campaign alongside new heroes for multiplayer and a slew of bug fixes.

The story chapter update is designed to tie the events of the game into Disneys upcoming film, while the multiplayer content brings Finn, Captain Phasma, Crait and DQar as playable heroes. There are also two new maps and you can see all the patch notes to find out what bugs have been fixed.

All content is free and available for download now. The contraversial microtransactions still remain though.

Star Wars Battlefront : Its Set Across All Three Trilogies

Star Wars Battlefront only focused upon the original trilogy of films, placing players within episodes IV, V and VI. In Star Wars Battlefront 2, however, DICE is throwing everything into the pot with maps and modes focusing on all three eras of the Star Wars universe.

Its still somewhat unclear exactly what this pertains to, but expect playable heroes from each set of trilogies. We also know that maps from the first three episodes will be available, along with those from the middle trilogy. As the final trilogy hasnt been completed yet, its difficult to say what areas will be available to fight in although expect some The Last Jedi DLC to come once the film arrives in cinemas at the end of the year.

The Rise Of Skywalker Season & celebration Edition

On December 5, 2019, a Celebration Edition of the game was released, including all cosmetic options released thus far it can be bought both separately or as an upgrade to the original version. Along with the Celebration Edition came an update, originally meant for late November, which added new skins for the Infiltrator and Enforcer classes and a gameplay overhaul. On December 17, an update was released that added content based on the film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, including a new Ajan Kloss map, Co-Op to the sequel trilogy era, new skins for Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren, and new Reinforcement classes for the sequel trilogy era . On February 3, 2020, an update originally meant for late January added BB-8 and BB-9E as new heroes for the Resistance and First Order, respectively, Capital Supremacy and Instant Action to the sequel trilogy era, and several gameplay changes.
