There are tons of different dinos available in the world of ARK Survival Evolved. This world is packed with an ecosystem of dinos that vary in behavior from aggressive carnivores that wont think twice about having you as a snack to more docile and passive herbivores who could soon become the best dino friend you ever had. If youre in need of some company but cant figure out how to spawn dinos, youve come to the right place.

The first option is a quick and easy way to spawn dinos if you dont care what level youre going to get. Youll want to start by hitting TAB to bring up the console. Then youll use the following command:

cheat summon < entity ID>

So lets say you wanted to spawn a random Alpha Rex. Youll hit TAB and type in:

cheat summon MegaRex_Character_BP_C

This will give you a random Alpha Rex but youll have no say so in what level or colors the dino will be. If you want to be able to have far more control when you spawn dinos and determine what level they are as well as where they will appear, youll need to use a command thats a bit more complicated:

cheat SpawnDino < blueprintPath> < spawnDistance> < spawn-Y-offset> < Z-offset> < dinolevel>

So if you really want a level 120 Beelzebufo and you want it to appear directly in front of you, youll need to enter the following command:

How To Find Dinos Ids For Spawning

To use the spawn commands properly, you need to have specific IDs for each dino or creature. The best source of the ID labels required for the spawn commands is the wiki for ARK: Survival Evolved, at Gamepedia.

This usually has the most up to date information on the creatures, and it also has a ton of other useful information about the game. It’s really worth checking out in general!

This page contains information about using both the spawn commands, and a large table of information about the various dinos labels that are required to tell the game which creature you want to spawn.

There are two major columns the table, for “Entity ID”, and “Blueprint Path”. Some spawn commands use one or the other.

• Entity IDs are shorter, with words and letters separated by underscores. The Entity ID is used for the Summon command.

• The Blueprint Path is an actual file path to where the dino information is stored in the game files. It’s much much longer, enclosed by quotes, and has slashes in it. The Blueprint Path is used by the SpawnDino command.

When using either one, the uppercase letters matter, and they should be copied exactly as is.

If a dino is normally hostile, it will be spawned in hostile and will attack! So, some of the following other admin commands might be useful to prevent getting eaten by the things you spawned!

Like most admin commands, you need to precede these with “Admincheat”. It can also be shortened to “Cheat”. The upper case letters aren’t required either, so all lowercase works fine too.

Setting this to “True” make you invisible to all dinos. They will completely ignore you, even if you attack them. They will move around normally, and might attack other dinos .Use Admincheat EnemyInvisible false to turn it off.

Turns on flight, allowing you to rise into the air when you press SPACE, and lower when you press C. Hostile dinos are much easier to deal with when you’re floating 100 feet above the ground!You turn it off by using the command Admincheat walk .

Dinos can’t damage you. They will still try to attack you though, which can be sometimes be pretty annoying .While they’re busy attacking you, it does keep them from wandering off though! It also makes aiming some of the other admin commands very easy since the hostile dino will be right in your face trying to eat you.Type Admintcheat God again to turn it off.

Spawn An Already Tamed Dinosaur

Taming a creature in ARK is a long and tiring task, and it doesnt always work out as expected. You can try to tame it manually, on the arm, when the dinosaur spawns in front of you, if you want. But what if you want him to be tamed?

Simple: use a variation of the Summon code, which is GMSummon + creature ID . So it appears tamed, which saves the player a lot of work.

Can I Spawn Other Creatures With The Codes

ARK doesnt just have dinosaurs. You can make Summon, for example, from a werewolf, bears, insects and even an Ieti. If you prefer, you can call a big gorilla and even other human beings. The total list reaches more than 150 creatures that can be summoned with code.

If you want to go beyond the dinosaurs, you can access the specialized ARK codes page . There you can find almost 2 hundred IDs to use with the Summon command. Here are some examples:

How To Use Admin Commands In Ark

Before we get to the commands, here are the basics of using ARK‘s admin commands on console or PC.

Just press the Tab key and start typing your command.

Console

On PS4 or Xbox, you must first bring up the pause menu and press L1+R1+X+triangle . This brings up the command menu for you to start typing.

If you’re playing multiplayer you may need to enter the “enablecheats” command first, but in single-player everything should work without it.

How To Enable Ark Cheats

To open the console to enter these Ark console commands, you should press the following key or button combinations:

• PC – Tab key
• PS4 – L1, R1, Square, and Triangle
• Xbox One – LB, RB, X, and Y

This will then give you a small bar along the bottom of the screen to enter the Ark cheats you want to use. When you’re finished, just press the same key or button combination again to close the console.

To spawn a creature ID, there are two ways. If you use Summon console command, you will get results at a random level. To summon an entity at random level, execute following ARK console commands :

How To Enable Admin Console Commands On Playstation 4

For the commands to work, youll need to go to the pause screen. There you should be able to find an option to input the cheats at the top of your screen. In case you dont see this option, make sure that you have admin access and re-logged in to the server after giving yourself access.

For the people that end up with their screen cluttered in cheat texts , you might want to run the command setCheatPlayer false .

Commands To Spawn Dinos

The game has two basic commands for spawning in creatures. The two main commands are Summon and SpawnDino.

• The Summon command just creates the dino exactly where you’re standing , then it pops out. The dino level is random, and if it’s a normally hostile dino, it’s going to instantly attack you! There’s also a related command, called SummonTamed that spawns in a dino fully tamed, which is safer.

• SpawnDino gives you a lot more control over how you spawn the creature into the game, including setting a specific level, and the distance and relative location to your character.

There are other summoning commands as well. Some of which are very similar , while some have some weird twists. These commands include: SDF, SpawnActor, SummonActorSpread, GMSummon. The ARK: Survival Evolved Wiki has more information on these other specialized spawn commands.
