Depending on your situation, and if you have a great number of games, apps, and other features you wish to quickly move over from your PS4, this may be the most straightforward option – but will involve a lot of moving parts. This method will only transfer data from one user, and does not apply to any data stored in extended storage. For this method you’ll need:
- Powered PS4 with an internet connection
- Powered PS5 with an internet connection
- TV or monitor to view progress
To begin, please make sure your PS4 has the latest software update possible.
On your PS5, after you complete your initial setup, the option for a full Data Transfer may appear. If you declined it at the time, you can find it again by going to Settings > System > System Software > Data Transfer.
At this point, you’ll be asked to have both consoles turned on and be connected to the internet. If you only have wifi available in your current setup, it is highly recommended you at least connect a LAN cable between the two consoles for faster transfer speeds.
Once both consoles are signed in on the same account, continue with the transfer process until you are told to press the power button down on the PS4 for one second until you hear a beep. How To Transfer All Data To Your Ps5
For all of the transfer methods here, you will need to make sure that both your PS4 and PS5 are turned on and connected to the same network. You can use the same monitor or two different ones if that works best for you.
Before you start, make sure your PS4 is updated with the latest software possible. A prompt appeared for me when I was setting up my PS5.
When setting up your PS5, a prompt will also show up asking for a full Data Transfer. If you declined it earlier, you can access it by going into your Settings, then System, System Software and then Data Transfer.
During the data transfer, you need to have both consoles turned on and connected to the same network, if you are only using WiFi its recommended that you use a LAN cable to connect the consoles for faster transfer speeds.
You will be prompted to press the PS4 power button, once done the PS4 should restart, make sure not to unplug the power cable or LAN cable during this process.
Once the PS4 has restarted, you will be prompted to select any games that have been saved on your PS4 choose which ones you want to transfer over to the PS5, the transfer time will depend on your internet connection and the file size of the game.
Once you have selected your games, you will be sent to the Ready to Transfer screen. Your PS4 may turn off or restart during this process, this is normal, just make sure not to unplug or disturb the consoles during the transfer.

What Works On Ps5
When moving your account over to your PS5, you bring everything over with you. That means any games and DLC purchases you’ve made, as well as any music and video content you might have purchased. Your account will also bring along your friends lists, trophies, and any funds you might still have in your PSN wallet. Basically, you’re losing nothing, except for any unsupported PS4 games, but that list is very small.
