Is It Possible To Unpair The New Controllers

I recently worked on two controllers for someone. In this deal, I got to keep the newer controller that had an issue with a bad RB button in exchange for recovering the firmware on a Model 1537.

On the 1537, there is a hardware flaw that allows unpairing if done correctly. I’ve detailed it in the previous post, found here: Is it possible to unpair these controllers?. This didn’t work, so I tried a similar, but different way of doing it on the new controllers:

• Plug it into a PC over USB
• Unplug the cable
• Pair it away from the console, ensuring it can’t get a signal

The idea behind this was the pairing would “erase” because it gets invalidated and is considered unusable. This would work because the controller could not fetch clean pairing data.

The new controllers are not working with this method so this was clearly a flaw in the hardware on the old controllers. It has since been fixed since the pairing is now persistent enough this no longer works or shows signs of working.

Is there a similar hardware flaw in these new controllers to do this like I did on the 1537’s, or is this procedure not an option anymore and I can’t get rid of it like I did on my old controller without the PC receiver?

Connecting The Ds4 In Macos

With the controller in pairing mode, go to your Mac’s settings and open Bluetooth Preferences. It might take a few seconds or more while the Mac searches for the signal, so be patient. Eventually, a listing for it will appear.

We have seen various labels show up here “wireless controller,” “DualShock 4 wireless controller,” even the raw MAC address has shown up before. Regardless of how it is listed, it will be obvious which device is the controller.

Next to the listing, click the Connect button. After a few seconds, the wireless controller will move to connected status. Also, the light on the front of the DS4 will be a steady light blue. Connect Your Wireless Controllers To Ps4 Without A Usb Cable

If you want to add second or more wireless controllers to your PS4 console, but you do not have the USB cable, you still can connect them without the USB cable. Here is how to do it:

Step 1: On your PS4 dashboard, go to Settings, then, Devices then, Bluetooth Devices, through a media remote for your PS4 or a connected PS4 controller.

Step 2: On your PS4 controller, the one you want to connect, press down the SHARE button and the PS button for around 5 seconds.

Step 3: Your PS4 controller should then show up on the Bluetooth Devices screen. Choose it.

Step 4: Your PS4 controller should then be connected to your console now. Enjoy your games.
