Xbox Game Pass Vs Playstation Plus

Xbox Live Gold on the Xbox One will set you back $9.99 a month, but it grants you online multiplayer access as well as some free games to download each month and game discounts. But we suggest a subscription to Xbox Game Pass for the same monthly price. It provides access to more than 100 of the best Xbox One games and other games for older and newer consoles, as well as online multiplayer access.

Opt to shell out for $14.99 and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gives you access to Xbox and PC games, as well as cloud streaming and save syncing between all three platforms. Game Pass is basically a must have for Xbox fans and is one of the best bargains in gaming.

Comparatively, PlayStation Plus members get two free games per PlayStation console for $10 a month, as well as game save cloud storage Xbox One gets this for free. Discounts on on some of the best PS4 games can be had with PlayStation Plus memberships.

Winner: Xbox Game Pass. Xbox Game Pass is such a bargain that it’s hard for Sony to compete against it. And with new games set to launch day one on Game Pass, it’s now an essential service for Xbox players.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One Price Comparison

The PS4 and Xbox One prices seem to change by the week, with price drops and bundle deals coming and going faster than handheld PlayStation systems. Add in special events, such as Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday, and dedicated storefront sales it can be hard to keep track.

While all of these bundles are great for consumers, it can be hard to keep up with the latest pricing info. So, in an effort to cut through the noise, here are the latest prices and bundles for each console.

While the original iterations of the Xbox One and PS4 launched in the same month, the console upgrades were more staggered, adding a little bit more confusion to the Xbox One vs PS4 question.

Simplifying matters slightly, though, Sony and Microsoft appear to be discontinuing their more powerful 4K-capable mid-gen upgrades, the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. This means that new stock can be really quite hard to come by and you might have to look for second hand consoles.

Difference Between Playstation And Xbox

Categorized under Gadgets,Technology | Difference Between PlayStation and Xbox

We have come a long way since the computer could only be described as surreal or a dream of the distant future compared to todays PCs, laptops and gaming consoles. Talking about game consoles, the Magnavox Odyssey was the worlds first consumer device to allow people to play interactive games on their television. The Odysseys games were only played with white squares on a black background. While the video game craze began with the Pong, the system for the Odyssey set the stage for the modern age of video games and modern consoles like the PlayStation and Xbox. The PlayStation was a 32-bit console from the Japanese electronics giant, Sony and with its debut, it quickly established itself as a major player in the console market. Then came the Microsofts Xbox which was the direct competitor to the Sonys PlayStation and other video game consoles such as Nintendo. Lets take a look at some key differences between PlayStation and Xbox.

The new PlayStation 5 launches on November 12. We break down the differences that matter and consider whether its worth the upgrade.

But both new console platforms will get some of the same major titles, as well, including from franchises such as , Destiny, and Madden. Plus, Microsoft purchased the makers behind major series like The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and Doom in the fall of 2020, leaving their future on PlayStation in question, and that may end up tipping the balance in Xboxs favor when it comes to exclusivesor games available in its subscription offeringsin the future.

If you plan on playing online games, get the console your friends have, because Sony usually doesnt support cross-platform multiplayer with the Xbox One or the Nintendo Switch. Both the PlayStation and Xbox platforms require a $60-per-year subscription for access to even basic online functions. For PlayStation, this subscription is called PlayStation Plus for Xbox, its called Xbox Live Gold.

Console History Timeline By Generation

The development of video game consoles primarily follows the history of video gaming in the North American and Japanese markets. Few other markets saw any significant console development on their own, such as in Europe where personal computers tended to be favored alongside imports of video game consoles. The clones of video game consoles in less-developed markets like China and Russia are not considered here.

Why Did Xbox Get Released Before Ps5 Microsoft Bets Two

People who preordered the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S get a slight window this week to gloat over those who are getting the PlayStation 5.

Microsoft is releasing its console on Tuesday, while Sony is waiting until Thursday. That’s not a big difference, or one that will be remembered for long, but it might feel like ages to antsy gamers anxious to try out their new systems.

After the PlayStation 4 destroyed the Xbox One in sales, Microsoft wants every advantage it can get this time around. A two-day head start is a possible momentum builder entering the holiday season, building chatter and social media gameplay content 48 hours early.

Below is a look at the release date difference in 2020, and how it compares to previous generations:

Playstation Vs Xbox A Rivalry For Theages

The rivalry between Sonys PlayStation andMicrosofts Xbox started in 2001 when Microsoft releasedthe first version of their Xbox. Sonys PlayStation as weknow it today was first officially released in December of1994, in Japan. It went on to become the leading gamesconsole, unseating pioneers Nintendo and eventuallydominating the gaming console market.

The Xbox was thefirst gaming console to really challenge the PlayStationsclaim to the console throne. Since the release of the firstXbox, to many of the subsequent generations of gamingconsoles that both franchises have released since then, thePlayStation and Xbox have been locked in a ferocious battlethat does not look like ending anytimesoon.

Xbox One Vs Ps: Value

First PLAYSTATION exclusive coming to XBOX | TOXIC twitter replies?

The Xbox One S starts at $299 , putting it on par with the $299 PS4 Slim. However, it’s worth noting that both consoles go on sale all the time, and you can often find them both for as low as $200 . The One S doubles as a 4K Blu-ray player, so you’re arguably getting the most tech for your money with that machine.

If you’re on an extra-tight budget, you can opt for the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition , which has no disc drive and includes Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft and Sea of Thieves. However, the standard Xbox One S drops to that price frequently, so you’re probably better off waiting for a sale and getting the 4K Blu-ray drive for cheap — especially if you don’t want to rely entirely on digital downloads.

Microsoft has recently brought back the Xbox All Access program. This lets you lease an Xbox One S, Xbox One X or Xbox One S All-Digital Edition starting at $19.99 a month for 24 month. According to Microsoft, this program saves you more than $100 compared to purchasing the console and bundled games separately. All Access members can upgrade to the upcoming Xbox Series X console starting late 2020, though there’s no word yet on how much the upgrade will cost.

If you want 4K gaming, Sony’s PS4 Pro costs $399 , while the Xbox One X runs a hefty $499 . That’s a pretty big price gap, though Microsoft’s console offers a richer 4K gaming experience. .

Winner: Xbox One. The $249 Xbox One S is the cheapest console out there and doubles as a 4K Blu-ray player.

Xbox One Vs Ps: Connectivity

  • You can’t upgrade Xbox One’s internal hard drive, but you can on the PS4
  • Both consoles support the use of external hard drives
  • The Xbox One has more ports on its rear

Depending on how your gaming setup is organized, the connectivity of your console could be an extremely important detail.

Both the Xbox One S and X have identical ports, each including two HDMI ports, one for receiving an input from a cable or satellite box, and one that inputs to your TV. On top of those, theyve each got two USB-3 ports, IR outputs, optical audio out, Ethernet ports and, of course, the power cable which is compatible with both versions of the Xbox. However, due to the quick and tragic downfall of Kinect, if you want to use a Kinect with either version of the Xbox One youll have to go out and get an adapter.

The PS4 Pro and PS4 Slim have similar inputs, although they are slightly different. Each has a single HDMI out, a single USB port in the back , an Ethernet port, and power. The only difference between the Pro and the Slim is that the Pro has an Optical Audio out, while the Slim drops it. One of the most compelling things about the connectivity of the PS4, however, is that both versions allow users to swap out the internal hard drive with another one of their choice.

All versions of both the Xbox One and PS4 support 802.11 ac Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet so no matter which console you decide on, you wont have to worry about network compatibility.

Xbox One Vs Ps: Bottom Line

With all the above said and done, Sonys PS4 is our overall favorite console. But only just. It pips Microsofts console to the post, thanks to its larger range of killer exclusive games, from the likes of God of War, The Last of Us 2, Uncharted 4 and Bloodborne. It also has a huge range of third-party games, a pleasingly intuative user interface, and a controller that is more innovative than the Xbox Wireless Controller, even if its perhaps not quite as good in everyday gaming use.

But we cant push the Xbox One aside completely, as thanks to exclusives like Halo, Gears 5, and Forza Horizon 4, Microsofts gaming machine is still an excellent console, though wed recommend getting the Xbox One X if youre going to an Xbox One machine. Its also worth remembering that the Xbox One S and One X can both play 4K Blu-rays, unlike the PS4. And Xbox Game Pass offers a huge library of games to play for some $10 a month arguably the Xbox One wins on sheer value for money.

With the Xbox Series X and PS5 now here, pitting the Xbox One vs the PS5 might seem a little moot. But its worth remembering that both consoles offer backwards compatibility, so any games you get for them now will be playable on their newer counterparts. So in effect, you’ll be building your game library ready for a generational upgrade.

Ps4 Vs Xbox One: Which Gaming Console Is Better

You might be playing original Xbox games on Xbox One ...

PS4 or Xbox One? Find the right console for you

The battle between PS4 vs Xbox One has been long-fought and if youre thinking about picking up one of Sony and Microsofts last-gen consoles, then youre probably looking for a definitive result.

If youve yet to pick up either Sonys PlayStation 4 and Microsofts Xbox One S, and youre still not sure which console is right for you, we can help you make an informed buying decision.

Though the PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are the latest and greatest consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One shouldnt be dismissed just yet. New games are still releasing on these platforms and if the latest hardware and native 4K resolutions arent absolutely essential to you, then you can pick up these consoles for excellent prices at the moment.

In fact, with the mid-generation upgrades Xbox One X and PS4 Pro now beginning to be discontinued and stock for both the Xbox Series X and PS5 proving rather scarce, these last-gen consoles are probably still the easiest way to access some of the latest games as well as subscription services like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Now.

So, if the current-gen battle between PS5 vs Xbox Series X isnt relevant to you just yet, then we can help you decide whether the PS4 or Xbox One is the right console for you by comparing design, prices, features and the games they gave to offer.

Ps5 Vs Xbox Series X: Games

This new console generation is unlike any other, in that for all but a tiny number of cases, you don’t need to buy a new console in order to play the new games.

In fact, to the best of our knowledge, there’s not a single Xbox Series X game that can’t also be played on Xbox One. If there’s one that we’ve missed somehow, it’s not one that’s worth playing.

It’s almost the same story with the PS5, but not quite. While practically every game available on the PS5 is also available on PS4, there are currently three notable exceptions in the form of the free/pre-installed Astro’s Playroom, the new and excellent remake of Demon’s Souls, and the spectacular-if-shallow Godfall.

The Xbox Series X also suffers slightly when you look at which new games are available to only one of the next-gen consoles. Of the new games released at the tail-end of 2020, none of note can be played on Xbox Series X and not on PS5. The high-profile delay of Halo Infinite has proved very costly.

That’s not to say that the PS5 is flooded with exclusives, but the three mentioned above, plus the excellent Spider-Man: Miles Morales, are easily some of the best PS5 games and give it an easy win in this regard.

Ultimately, this is a very tricky round to call. The PS5 wins in terms of exclusives both new and existing, but the Xbox Game Pass really is an amazing offering. We’re calling it a draw.

Sixth Generation Contenders Ready

The Sixth Generation of consoles saw one contender drop out, a new contender take its first steps, and a move towards online gaming.

Sega had a point to prove following the Saturn’s disappointing performance, and it kickstarted the sixth generation in 1998 with its 128-bit Dreamcast system. The new console boasted a built-in modem for online play, detachable memory units with visual displays that could be used to play simple games on the go, and – crucially – a Sonic the Hedgehog game.

Despite critical acclaim for games like Metropolis Street Racer, Soulcalibur, Jet Set Radio and Shenmue, and a general consensus that Dreamcast was a huge improvement over its predecessor, the system was unable to generate big sales.

Sega’s brand had been tarnished by the successive failures of the Mega CD, 32X and Saturn, and ultimately – in part due to the feverish levels of anticipation for Sony’s PlayStation 2 – Dreamcast never stood a chance. Sega discontinued Dreamcast in 2001, and became a multi-platform games publisher.

Those who made the switch were treated to arguably the most varied collection of console games in history, encompassing mainstream hits from the Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo and Grand Theft Auto series, meditative epics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, offbeat curios like Katamari Damacy and everything in between.
