The first aspect to consider is the price of the PS4, which launched at $399.99. It was a bit more than fans were used to spending, but the leap in technology obviously paid off.
In April 2019 Sony said that the PS5s price would be appealing to gamers. Thats an incredibly broad answer but is most likely meant to suggest a price similar to the PS4. However, things have drastically changed since then. An analysis firm called Ampere Analysis recently published a report saying the PS5 will likely be between $450-500. That sounds pretty on the ball as a slight increase on the price of the PS4, but something that would appeal to gamers and wont break the bank.

For starters, in order to run the PS5 as it was designed, youll need a 4K TV and if you dont have one of those, a basic model will set you back at least $300/£300.

As for cheap good quality 4K TVs, I honestly dont think you can go wrong with Samsungs 43in Q65A QLED 4K HDR Smart TV. You can get one today for less than 450 which is a damn good deal on a very, very impressive 4K TV.

There are three big reasons why you’re still struggling to get a PS5. The first is the most obvious: The system is really popular. Sony says the PS5 is its best-selling console and has already sold more than 10 million units since launch.
The second reason is the current chip shortage impacting most of the world’s electronics. Sony did say it has secured enough chips to meet its goal of 14.8 million consoles for the fiscal year.
As for the last reason, it comes down to bots. Resellers are using software to purchase a massive number of PS5s at once, leaving only a few for actual humans to buy. Retailers added various bot protections during PS5 restocks, but these restrictions only hamper resellers so much.

Update 2: Sure enough, we have finally learned the PS5’s price and release date: It arrives on November 12 for $500, or $400 for the Digital edition. PS5 preorders are now live at select retailers.
Update: Sony has yet to officially confirm a price or date for either version of the PlayStation 5. There were rumors suggesting Sony might finally announce these details on September 9, but that did not happen. Whether we’ll finally learn something new in today’s PS5 showcase event remains to be seen. Sony is running very late on time for making this sort of announcement. For comparison, it revealed the price of the PS4 back in June 2013 during E3–if Sony had followed that same timeline, the PS5’s price would have been revealed three months ago.
