When Did The Ps5 Come Out
The Playstation 5 was officially released on November 12, 2020. Sony officially confirmed a prediction we made back in 2014! Thats right we knew before Sony even made the final decision! On September 16th, 2020, Sony confirmed the PS5s release date as November 12th, 2020!. Just like with the pre-order the PS5 sold out immediately, leaving fans across the world totally devastated.
We also accurately predicted the official PS5 announcement would be in 2019. We also accurately predicted the PS4 release date on our other site but that is another story. Now lets look at the history shall we. The PS2 came 5 years 3 months after the PS1, the PS3 came 6 years 8 months after the PS2 and the PS4 came 7 years and 5 days after the PS3. Following this trend 2020 should have been no surprise to gamers world wide and yet many people argued 2018, 2019 and even still 2021.
We were not the only ones who thought so either. According to WinFuture, a report from Ace Research Institutes analyst Hideki Yasuda predicted that the PS5 release in November of 2020 as well for a price of $499.
The analyst also went on to predict that Sony would sell six million consoles before the end of the fiscal year, which would be March 2021, along with another 15 million sold in the following year. The analyst said that Microsofts next-gen console would be the main competitor, but went so far as to say that Google Stadia wouldnt be a serious competitor. Ouch!

Ps5 Restocks At Best Buy
Best Buy’s last PS5 restock was on October 6 for in-store pickup. Prior to that, Best Buy had multiple restocks for both the PS5 and PS5 Digital in late September/early October. All restocks sold out very quickly. Best Buy’s restocks usually happen in the latter half of the week , but this isn’t always the case.

Latest: PS5 restocks have been very slow this week. According to , we can expect a restock at Game between 14-16th September, and at Argos 14-17th September after 8am. Though as always it is not guaranteed to be this week. This follows availability at AO, ShopTo and Studio in this week. In the US, PS5 digital consoles were briefly in stock at Target. Ps5 Ps Now How Will Playstation Now Work On Playstation 5
On May 16th, 2019 Sony and Microsoft announced a strategic partnership that extends to their streaming services and also the sharing of game development tech an obvious shot across the bow of Googles Stadia platform. How this unfolds further down the line though, is anyones guess right now. All the same, these are exciting times indeed especially considering just how many games are on the PS Now service.
What we do know is that going forward, PS Now will be an increasingly stronger focus and it makes sense that PS5 would be included in that too. PlayStation Now, however functions pretty much the same as it did on PS4 allowing users to stream PS2, PS3 and PS4 games to the console. As before, the functionality to download PS4 games onto the PS5 console remains available too.
Seven: Disc Drive Or Digital
The discussion around an optical disc drive for the PS5 revolves around the core concept that games have always been a physical thing. Weve become more and more comfortable with digital downloads, which is leading people to believe the PS5 may ditch discs altogether. This assumption was wrong. The PS5 will include a disc drive, or it wont. There are two models to choose from.
Blu-Ray sales have been falling in recent years, and experts have declared them a dying format, but there doesnt seem to be any rush to replace them. That hasnt stopped new technologies from emerging though. Blu-Rays can hold up to 50 gigabytes, but were going to need more space for PS5 games.
Sony and Panasonic are developing a new replacement for Blu-Ray discs. The idea is to fight back against the rise of streaming content. These discs can hold more than 100 gigabytes a piece, which doubles the storage potential. Again though, we run into issues when games grow in size. Are we looking at a return to the days of multiple discs for longer games? The other option is, of course, digital downloads or streaming.
Sony has already been working on this with a service known as PlayStation Now. This is a digital streaming service where you can rent or buy games and play them over an internet connection. Its not perfect, nor is it immensely popular in comparison to physical discs, but it does show Sonys interest in the format.

Michael Pachter Strikes Again
If youve been a long time reader here on PS5 Gamers, then you know we like to cover industry analyst Michael Pachters predictions as they are both relevant and interesting. Hes not always right, but he comes pretty close more often than not.
The latest news from him is a in June 2019 where he laid down some interesting predictions for Project Scarlett and PS5s price point:
The specs suggest $500 or so, but my bias is that Microsoft will announce $399 and Sony will follow suit.
I would love to see $399, but I find it hard to believe the new systems will go for that low. Its common knowledge that console manufacturers sell systems at a loss in the beginning. They reap the benefits later on when people buy accessories and games.
Even so, with the specs we are hearing about $399 would be a substantial loss. In Microsofts case, if the rumors are true about two consoles at launch , then we could have a base model for $399 and the enhanced for $499 or more, but nothing in the wind points to Sony have multiple consoles at launch.

What Are The Launch Games For Playstation 5
The PS5’s backwards compatibility means that hundreds of PS4 games were available to play on launch day, but there are also many new games hitting shelves too.

Oh The Options Youll Have: 2 Versions Of The Ps5
Over the course of a console life cycle, its not uncommon for the gaming machine to go through several versions. Usually you get a slim version with better cooling and a larger hard drive, but when the PS5 releases, Sony may look into providing two versions of the system to reach a wider audience.
One version of the PS5 will provide all the bells and whistles. Were talking a massive solid state drive that will be up to 2 terabytes in size! Youll also get backwards compatibility and a few other exciting features. Then theres going to be a Core Experience that will offer the basics that casual gamers will need to enjoy the PlayStation experience. Ps5 Review: Backwards Compatibility
The PS5 works with nearly all PS4 games, which is a huge step up from Sonys complete lack of backwards compatibility last generation. I tested close to a dozen PS4 games on PS5, including The Last of Us Part II, God of War, Mortal Kombat 11, Tetris Effect and Resident Evil 2, and almost all of them loaded faster and ran better than they did on my launch PS4. Both digital and disc-based PS4 games worked without a hitch on my PS5, and my physical movies worked just fine on the systems 4K Blu-ray drive.
The PS5 allows you to take advantage of any PS4 Pro enhancements a game offers, so games that have higher resolution or frame rate modes benefit the most from Sonys new console. As someone coming from a launch PS4, the ability to finally enjoy God of Wars high-frame rate mode or play Tetris Effect in 4K felt almost worth the price of admission on its own .
The PS5 is designed to work with most first-party and officially licensed PS4 accessories, and I had no issues bringing my existing last-gen gear over. Pairing my DualShock 4 to the PS5 was as simple as plugging it in via USB cable, and my existing headsets worked just fine with the DualSenses 3.5 mm audio jack.
Third-party wired controllers, such as my Hori Fightpad and Victrix Pro FS Fight Stick, also worked perfectly as I mashed buttons in Mortal Kombat. Just keep in mind that the DualShock 4 only works with backwards compatible PS4 games, so you wont be able to use it for PS5-only titles.

Peach fuzz confirmedIn a September 27, 2021 post on the official PlayStation blog, titled Horizon Forbidden West: Evolving Aloy, Guerrilla community lead Bo De Vries wrote about just how much detail is going into Aloy’s upcoming PS5 adventure, including something of a deep dive on the major graphical enhancements over the first game in the series.
To really sell just how far the developer has come since 2017’s Horizon Zero Dawn, lead character artist Bastien Ramisse stated: “Each generation of consoles brings extra power that lets us add even denser polygons to our character models, so we can create finer details such as peach fuzz, smooth contouring, or finer texture details and accurate materials expression, to name a few.”
This was followed by a rather stunning looking screenshot of protagonist Aloy, showcasing graphical enhancements such as visible stitching on her clothing and relaxed braids in her hair.
Developing for PS4 hasn’t held anything backHorizon Forbidden West is coming to PS4 and PS5 but according to the games director, getting the game ready for last-gens consoles hasnt held it back or forced the team to scale back.
Thats how we also brainstormed all the quests and events the player is going to go through.
So, while anything could happen with the games final release date at the moment, it is in its final stages.

The supply of the next generation of consoles from both Sony and Microsoft is unclear, and you would be hard pressed to find an Xbox Series X, which launched in Australia on Tuesday.
According to Press Start, there are still a few shipments of both consoles coming to our shores before the end of the year.

PS5 will ship with Wi-Fi 6 802.11 AX standard which is a big deal! WiFi 6 is a huge improvement and changes the whole game basically. It will be a network beast! WiFi 6 has better latency as compared to WiFi 5 and for gaming that is critical. The bandwidth of 802.11g adds about 50ms of latency while the bandwidth of 802.11n adds about 10ms of latency 802.11ac adds about 5ms of latency. Dont know what WiFi6 is? The CompetitionXbox Live and PlayStation Network are on equal standing this generation. With PlayStation Plus at an all time high, Microsoft has been trying to keep up with their Games with Gold program, but the titles are rarely better in both quality and value to what you get on PS+.

How To Buy A Black Ps5
However, just because Sony has yet to release an official black PS5 doesnt mean that you cant pick one up from a third-party seller.
The company CMP Shells has offered fans the chance to get their hands on a black PS5 through black faceplates.
It previously pulled its black faceplates following threats of legal action from Sony. However, on the product page for the CMP Blackout the name given to the black PS5 shells the company addresses the question of whether it could be sued.
The patent is pending, and all sales finalized before its approved are untouchable, CMP Shells said. We didnt know before. Now we do.
CMP Shells also added: We have not replicated anyones proprietary design and have actually improved upon the original by allowing for more ventilation.
Just 1000 units of the black PS5 shells have been made, which CMP claims is to keep our shells super exclusive.
Alongside the two shells for the PS5 console, the kit will come with a black vinyl middlepiece and a Vinyl controller set for the DualSense controller. The black shells cost $69.99 and will be delivered in March, according to the company. At the time of writing, the Digital Edition shells have already sold out, but the Disc Edition shells have not.

What Will The Ps5 Pro’s Specs Be
No clue, though I wouldn’t be surprised if it was boosted to a future generation of AMD’s processors given the estimated time frame, Zen 4 architecture CPUs and RDNA 3-architecture GPUs would make sense.
