Bethesda Confirm Elder Scrolls 6 Will Be On PS5/Xbox Scarlett

This is, of course, Microsofts strategy: to use exclusive content and multiple entry points to build out as wide a customer base as possible, with Game Pass serving as the center rather than physical consoles. So youve got a PlayStation-first gamer that buys a PS5 at launch, or in the first year, because they want to play God of War Ragnarok and all of Sonys other great games. Eventually, Microsoft releases some new Bethesda games on its own platforms, and that gamer seeks out either a cloud or hardware based way to play them, and theres a good chance that gamer winds up a Game Pass subscriber. Cloud stands to make games easier to access than ever, and in that future exclusive content is an even bigger draw than it is now.

The upshot is that the marriage of The Elder Scrolls 6 and xCloud stands to be gigantic. I know a ton of people that play basically no other games but, one way or another, fell in love with Skyrim for its immersive sim-like qualities and the sheer joy of wandering around that expansive world. These games are not particularly sensitive to input timing, and this one should be perfectly fine on Cloud. Its not a leap to imagine massive sales and subscriptions from gamers that dont own consoles but still want to check this one out.

Playstations Ceo Also Wants To Know If The Elder Scrolls 6 And Starfield Will Be On Ps5

I look forward to learning about that

Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan seems as keen as anyone to know if PlayStation fans will get to play future Bethesda games.

The fate of Bethesda Softworks upcoming projects has been a major talking point since Microsoft announced in September that it intends to acquire ZeniMax Media for $7.5 billion.

Should the deal be completed as expected in early 2021, Xbox Game Studios will grow from 15 to 23 development teams, including Bethesda Game Studios, the maker of the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series, plus upcoming sci-fi game Starfield.

In an interview with Russian news agency TASS, PlayStation boss Ryan was asked how he felt about the acquisition and whether PS5 players might not get to play The Elder Scrolls 6 or Starfield.

Thats a decision that is out of our hands, well wait and see what happens, he responded. I look forward to learning about that.

We just take a different approach. Our emphasis has been to focus on really steady, slow, but constant organic growth of our studios, selectively bolstered by acquisitions.

We respect the steps taken by our competition, they seem logical and sensible, he added. But were equally happy and confident, weve got a better launch lineup than weve ever had at any of our console launches.

Employing some 2,300 staff worldwide, Bethesda Softworks studios also include id Software , ZeniMax Online Studios , Arkane , MachineGames and Tango Gameworks .

Elder Scrolls 6 Setting

The choice of the region has been made – this has been confirmed by Todd Howards. But when asked if it is possible to work out the location from the trailer, the lead developer said that …you can’t – it’s intentional… You can rule some things out. And you can rule some things in.

Two major regions have been rumored on the Internet: Black Marsh and Valenwood. While there is no solid argument in favor of the first one, in an internal Bethesda memo in 2014, employees were warned against using Fallout: Nuka World, Elder Scrolls VI or Project Greenheart.. And Greenheart is a city in Valenwood. Well, Fallout: Nuka World turned out, indeed, to be a DLC for Fallout 4, so why not Valenwood?

Another rumored region is Hammerfell – there is a on the official account of the Elder Scrolls where an unmapped region of Hammerfell can be seen.

In addition to that, even though there was nothing official regarding the game during the 2021 edition of E3, there was another announcement that got fans hyped about the Elder Scrolls 6: Starfield. During the official teaser trailer of Starfield, reddit user Huhwtfbleh spotted a scuff that looks a lot like a doodle of a map – a doodle of Iliac Bay. Could this be an easter egg for TES6?

Elder Scrolls 6 Coming To Ps5 Teases Official Playstation Site

Despite Microsoft’s purchase of Bethesda, The Elder Scrolls VI may be coming to the PlayStation 5, Sony teases on their official blog.

It looks like The Elder Scrolls VI might not be Xbox-exclusive after all, possibly making its way to the PlayStation 5 at some point in the future after PlayStation’s official blog teases The Elder Scrolls VI as an anticipated title on it’s platform. While it is more of a hint than an announcement, it’s a good indicator that the popular Bethesda title might not be as beholden to Microsoft’s consoles as was originally thought.

When Microsoft bought ZeniMax Media and Bethesda back in September, it gained an edge in the ongoing console war with Sony by taking exclusive ownership of some of gaming’s most popular and profitable franchises: most notably DOOM, Fallout, and The Elder Scrolls. PlayStation devotees lamented what appeared to be the loss of some of the best series on their console of choice, but there was a glimmer of hope rekindled when Bethesda producer Todd Howard stated in an interview that it was hard to imagine Elder Scrolls VI as Xbox-exclusive. It was a straw, but fans of the series not willing to shell out for another pricy current-gen console eagerly grasped it.

Will The Elder Scrolls 6 Be Released On PS5? Bethesda

Weve been to High Rock and Hammerfell in Daggerfall as well as Morrowind, Cyrodiil and Skyrim thus far. There are actually several locations in the Elder Scrolls universe that we could visit next.

The trailer does give us some indication, as the landmass is located on the coast, although all of the provinces in Tamriel happen to have some part of them located on the coast. Its possible that the next game could take place in Valenwood, which is the home of the Wood Elves, or even Black Marsh, home to the Argonians both of which we havent been to yet.

Theres some speculation, given by the mountain range in the trailer, that the game could take place in Black Rock or Hammerfell the former being home to Bretons and the latter is the land of the Redguards.

While the idea of The Elder Scrolls 6 spanning across multiple provinces sounds nice, Id prefer a more focused sandbox to play in. As weve seen with The Elder Scrolls Online, adding more space to the world doesnt necessarily add volume or depth.

Will Ps5 Get Elder Scrolls 6 And Starfield

No. When Starfield was shown off at E3 2021, Microsoft confirmed it was not coming to PS5. With The Elder Scrolls 6 coming years down the line after Starfield launches, it likely won’t release on Sony’s console either. Instead, Microsoft wants to deliver these games to Microsoft platforms and through Xbox Game Pass.

Though Spencer reportedly told Bloomberg that future Bethesda games will come to Xbox, PC, and “other consoles on a case by case basis,” this doesn’t appear to include Starfield or The Elder Scrolls 6.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Likely Won’t Be On Ps5

After a shocking announcement from Microsoft, it appears that Elder Scrolls 6 and other Bethesda properties won’t be coming to the PlayStation 5.

When Bethesda Game Studios first announced The Elder Scrolls 6 at E3 2018, very few details were shared. However, the game was expected to be a cross-platform release. After all, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim had a cross-platform launch and has since been released on practically every system available. For most people, worries about next-gen exclusivity didn’t even exist. Now, however, it seems The Elder Scrolls 6 may not come to the PlayStation 5 at all.

No Elder Scrolls 6 on PS5 may come as a shock to many people, especially considering Sony’s emphasis on PlayStation exclusives. The most recent Elder Scrolls Online content continues on PS4, so it only seemed a given the next mainline Elder Scrolls game would appear on the PlayStation 5. Today, those expectations have pretty much been shattered.

When Is The Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date

Why Bethesda Xbox Exclusive Games Like Elder Scrolls 6 Will NOT Be On PS5

There is no official release date yet. While Bethesda has not announced an exact release date or window for Elder Scrolls 6, Howard has stated that its development and release is completely dependent on the company getting its next project out the door first: Starfield.

“We had done so many things, we were going Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and you have this Starfield game in your head and you sorta say, well, when?” he told IGNin July 2019. “We are creatives, and we have to make this game and this is the time, and so Elder Scrolls VI is gonna have to wait a little bit.”

And, that âlittle bitâ could wind up being quite a while if 2021 statements from Howard are any indication. Speaking to The Telegraphin late June, Howard said âitâs good to think of The Elder Scrolls 6 as still being in a design ⦠but weâre checking the tech: âIs going to handle the things we want to do in that game?ââ

In other words, The Elder Scrolls 6 is basically a glimmer in the eye of developers at this point. Itâs being considered in terms of how it will take shape while based off Starfield as a foundation, but itâd probably be wrong to say much full-scale work has been done on the project at all. Its characters and worlds are still being designed and devised, so they donât yet exist as in-game assets.

Is Elder Scrolls 6 Coming To Ps5 Todd Howard Has Some Good News For Playstation Fans

The chances of a Skyrim sequel on other platforms aren’t as slim as we thought.

The Elder Scrolls might well be years away, but with Microsoft buying Bethesda and all of its studios, is it possible that it could be solely released on Xbox or PC platforms?

Todd Howard, director of both Fallout and Skyrim, spoke to GamesIndustry.biz about the acquisition and what it could mean for the likes of Elder Scrolls 6 on PS5.

Elder Scrolls 6 Is Coming To Ps5 Bethesda Offers Ambiguous Updates

It is The Elder Scrolls 6 which comes on PS5 or will it be an Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and exclusively for PC like Starfield? Well, Bethesda wont say it, nor will the Xbox. And based on previous comments from the Xbox and Bethesda hierarchy, the door is still open for the game to hit the PS5. Are you feeling alright? We dont know, but the more ambiguous the updates and comments on the subject offered by Bethesda and Xbox, the more PlayStation fans cling to the hope that the game will reach the PS5 to some extent.

The latest cryptic comment comes from Bethesda Game Studios director Todd Howard, who was recently asked whether or not he would regret not releasing games on PlayStation. To this end, Howard had a very interesting answer.

Well, were still Ill just say I want everyone to have the opportunity to play it one way or another, Howard Telegraph said.

As expected, this response especially the Well, Were Still part was enough to rekindle hope that The Elder Scrolls 6 it can happen on PS5. Is this wishful thinking from PlayStation fans? Probably, but its a wish that Xbox and Bethesda continue to research this kind of comment.

In reality, Howard probably refers to the Xbox Game Pass and xCloud here, but if he does, he doesnt say anything.

Will The Elder Scrolls 6 Be On Playstation 5

By Jack O’Dwyer | Sep 7, 2021

Will The Elder Scrolls 6 release on PlayStation 5 or has Bethesda Softworks’ sale to Microsoft sealed the franchise’s fate?

Fans have been speculating on every aspect of the next installment in Bethesda Softworks’ flagship RPG franchise, The Elder Scrolls, since its announcementâwhich seems like eons ago. The company has yet to bring forward any new information about the game since its brief teaser trailer and that, alone, has left fans hungry for any scrap they can find.

With the developer’s merge under Microsoft, fans have yet another detail to ruminate over: console exclusivity of The Elder Scrolls 6.

No. And also Elder Scrolls 6 is planned as Xbox exclusive as well.

Will Elder Scrolls VI Come Out For PS5?

Will Microsoft make this beloved franchise an Xbox exclusive?

Microsoft has finalized their purchase of Bethesda, which has led to many gamers worrying about some of their favorite franchises being Xbox exclusive, particularly, The Elder Scrolls 6.

Some Bethesda games that were previously announced for other consoles will still come out like Deathloop and Psychonauts 2, but anything that will be announced after those games will have a less likely chance of appearing elsewhere, with many worried that Elder Scrolls 6 wont come out on the PS5.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Is Reportedly Planned As Xbox Exclusive

The Elder Scrolls 6 is reportedly “planned” as an Xbox exclusive.

On Twitter, GamesBeat reporter Jeff Grubb refuted the suggestion that, in a recent interview, Bethesda’s Pete Hines has hinted that Starfield could come to PS5. Since then, Xbox’s Aaron Greenberg has made clear Starfield PS5 is not happening, and the game will launch on Xbox platforms. Grubb seems to have heard that too, and thinks that “Elder Scrolls 6 is planned as Xbox exclusive as well.”

No. And also Elder Scrolls 6 is planned as Xbox exclusive as well. https://t.co/K4VCC5DrXL

That’s likely to mean that Microsoft is hoping to release The Elder Scrolls 6 on PC and Xbox Series X/S alone – with Starfield still more than a year away, the Xbox One is unlikely to meet the demands of the fantasy franchise’s next outing.

The question of The Elder Scrolls 6 and its potential Xbox exclusivity has been asked since Microsoft announced its acquisition of Bethesda last year. Since then, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has suggested that Elder Scrolls 6 may be an Xbox exclusive, while PlayStation’s Jim Ryan has previously said he doesn’t know whether Starfield and Elder Scrolls are coming to PS5.

While Microsoft’s potential desire to leverage The Elder Scrolls 6 to boost Xbox Series X sales might come as little surprise, it’s worth noting that there’s not been an official announcement from either Microsoft or Bethesda. With that in mind, Sony fans desperate to dive back into Tamriel needn’t despair just yet.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Story

Theres not much we can suss out about The Elder Scrolls 6s story from the simple landscape shot that was the teaser trailer. However, given how the rest of the series has gone, we can get some idea of where, or rather when, the story is going to take place.

The time jump between Oblivion and Skyrim was 201 years, and while Oblivion took place only 34 years after the first Elder Scrolls game, its likely that The Elder Scrolls 6 will feature another time jump after the events of Skyrim.

Skyrim took place at a time of civil war, but most importantly, it served as the homecoming for an ancient black dragon known as Alduin, who was prophesied to destroy and consume the world. Of course, as the player, you ensured that the schmuck couldnt even make it out of Skyrim. However, it was hinted that Alduin may return one day to fulfill his destiny and destroy the world.

Having Alduin return for The Elder Scrolls 6 would be an incredibly predictable move from a narrative standpoint. However, what if The Elder Scrolls 6 took place after Alduins return, and years after he ravaged the world of Tamriel? It would be interesting to see a world and society pick up the pieces of whats left after such a tragedy.

This would open a new realm of possibilities, as most of Tamriel is built on heavily woven pre-established lore, but an event like this would tear down most preconceptions, thus introducing new players to the franchise with a more accessible story.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Location

All Elder Scrolls games take place on the mythical continent of Tamriel, with the past few games being located in specific nations on the continent: Morrowind in The Elder Scrolls 3, Cyrodill in The Elder Scrolls 4 and Skyrim in The Elder Scrolls 5. There hasn’t yet been a single-player Elder Scrolls game that made it to the nations of Valenwood or Black Marsh, homes of the Wood Elves and the Argonians respectively.

But going by the mountains in the trailer, theres been speculation that the game could take place in Black Rock, home of the mage-centric Bretons, or in Hammerfell, the land of the warrior-like Redguard. Or the game could span several of the Tamriel provinces, which is why it’s simply been called The Elder Scrolls 6.
