How To Make Cyberpunk Run Better Ps4

The Playstation 4 Can Finally Run Cyberpunk 2077 Without Crashing On Patch 123 But Streaming Issues Remain A Bugbear For It And The Playstation 4 Pro

Cyberpunk 2077 Best Graphics Settings Ps5/Ps4/Xbox – How To Fix Frame Drops On Ps4/Xbox One

CDPR released Patch 1.23 for Cyberpunk 2077 to little fanfare last week, despite the game’s return to the PlayStation Store. Sony does not have much faith in CDPR’s latest title though, especially running on the base PlayStation 4. Specifically, Sony warns against people installing Cyberpunk 2077 on a base PlayStation 4, even after six months of development.

Patch 1.23 does not contain any PlayStation-specific changes either, unlike with PC and Xbox. However, Digital Foundry has re-tested Cyberpunk 2077 on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro and the PlayStation 5 with Patch 1.23 applied. Surprisingly, the latest patch improves the game’s playability on both PlayStation 4 consoles, albeit to a limited extent.

Fundamentally, Patch 1.23 addresses the crashes to the system menu that frequently occurred on the PlayStation version of the game. Additionally, Cyberpunk 2077 now runs closer to 30 FPS on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro in most instances. Digital Foundry has shown occasions when framerates drop below that 30 FPS target, but their frequency is fewer than on Patch 1.2. Similarly, the PlayStation 5 maintains 60 FPS in most cases and drops to 50 FPS in demanding areas.

Cyberpunk 2077 Ps5 Performance

Unsurprisingly, Cyberpunk 2077 runs best on PS5 . This is the smoothest possible performance that you can get on a Sony system, offering 60 frames-per-second at what appears to be a slightly better resolution than 1080p but it’s certainly not 4K or anything close.

It’s also worth noting that, at launch, there’s no ‘quality’ graphics option on PS5. You’re locked to the game’s 60fps performance mode.

The game sticks to what seems to be a solid 60fps without any major drops, although we have noticed that when driving around Night City at high speed, the framerate can dip here and there. Minor drops can also happen during more intense combat scenarios, but it’s not really enough to impact the experience.

Cyberpunk 2077 runs nicely on PS5, then, but it’s very clearly a PS4 game. Everything has a slight blur to it, and graphically, the title doesn’t wow as often as you’d expect. It can look pretty at the right time of day, like at dusk when the neon lights start flickering to life, but overall, Night City looks decidedly last-gen especially if you don’t have HDR enabled.

Well, what about the bugs? Aside from a handful of standout glitches like characters spawning on top of one another and then floating in mid-air together it’s honestly not that bad. We’ve had quite a bit of open world jank dead bodies clipping into the ground, some dodgy animations but nothing too egregious.

Here’s hoping that this problem gets fixed as soon as possible.

Is Cyberpunk 2077 Good Now

Following the controversies surrounding the game at launch, many fans started raising questions about the game’s overall quality. Whether the bugs, glitches, and performance issues are reflective of the game’s quality is a debate of its own, but it’s hard to argue with the merits of Cyberpunk 2077.

Despite many technical hiccups, Cyberpunk 2077 paints a picture of a truly dystopic future in Night City. A bevy of interesting characters compels players to form meaningful relationships, as they fight and explore all of what Night City has to offer.

Cyberpunk 2077 is out now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions scheduled to release in 2021.

Make Cyberpunk 2077 Play Much Much Better With Just Two Super Simple Fixes

ByGerald Lynchlast updated 2 December 21

Better cars, better guns in Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 had one of the most painful launches in recent gaming memory, which cant be denied at this point. From excessive hardware requirements to numerous bugs to near-unplayable console versions, its been rough. But there truly is a great sci-fi action role playing game hidden beneath it all and PC players can enjoy a much better feeling adventure with these simple fixes.

Ive been playing Cyberpunk 2077 for about a fortnight now. Im lucky enough to have a relatively high-spec PC, which means performance issues have been minor and framerates have been quite stable. So lets be clear here these fixes arent for making this demanding game run on a lowly rig. Rather, theyre about refining the gameplay systems with some tricks Ive found have upped my enjoyment of the game significantly, especially when using an Xbox One controller.

The two things that most struck me as a disappointment when playing Cyberpunk initially were its gunplay and vehicle handling. Having spent the last generation shooting baddies in Destiny and racing through the streets of Grand Theft Auto V, Cyberpunks iteration on these systems underwhelmed. I couldnt get a headshot to save my life, and cars slid around the streets like a wheelbarrow on an ice rink.

Want to see similar improvements? Ill share my tips below.

How to Make Cyberpunk 2077 Look Better on PS5, PS4

Cyberpunk 2077 is a beautiful game if youre running on PC. But with a few tweaks you can make it even better.

And the good news? Console players, too, can benefit from these small tweaks almost immediately.

Weve spent hours tweaking the settings, messing around with Nvidias brilliant DLSS and putting our test Nvidia 3080 GPU through its paces.

First, well go through how to improve the QUALITY of the visuals. The second section will focus on PERFORMANCE gains, and will be more relevant for PC gamers.

The Ps4 Pro Version Is Better Though

Playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a PS4 Pro ismarginally better than playing it on a base PS4 or PS4 Slim model. While the PS4 Pro runs Cyberpunk 2077 at a dynamic resolution that maxes out at just 1188p, youll notice an improved frame rate over the Xbox One X version and a much, much better and smoother experience than on the base PlayStation 4 model. If you have a PS4 Pro, its safer to get Cyberpunk 2077 on this platform, although we would still recommend picking up a PS5 or getting the game on PC at the moment.

How To Optimize Cyberpunk 2077 On Pc And Consoles

Milkameluna

Cyberpunk suffers from horrific framerate and display issues, even on powerful machines, not to mention old consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. But changing some graphics options will improve your gaming experience and significantly increase your FPS.

During our review of Cyberpunk 2077, we were hoping that the last minute optimization of CD Projekt Red, as well as the new Nvidia drivers would improve the performance of the game. It did improve things, but the result is far from perfect, it’s even catastrophic for some users. Fortunately, the graphics options that completely hamper performance and hinder visibility were quickly identified. Making a few adjustments and disabling certain options will make it all smoother, even if you increase other less greedy and more relevant graphics options such as the level of detail. In many cases, this will allow you to go from 20 FPS to 60 FPS.

Please note that a large part of these graphics options are also present on consoles, PCs aren’t the only ones concerned. And first of all on PC, remember to update your graphics card drivers as soon as possible, if you haven’t already.

Cyberpunk 2077 Is Better Than Ever

ByRhys Woodlast updated 2 December 21

Opinion: Cyberpunk 2077s substantial 1.2 patch still doesnt change the half-baked experience.

Cyberpunk 2077s post-launch road has been as rocky as the Badlands that surround Night City. The game launched in such a broken, buggy state that it will likely take months – if not years – of dedicated patchwork and improvements to get the game in a passable state .

Now, a couple of patches and one very real cyberattack later, developer CD Projekt Red has managed to address hundreds of progress halting bugs and visual glitches to its credit, sprinkling in some quality of life features along the way. That being said, we still have no idea when the PS5 and Xbox Series X upgrades will arrive for the game, and when they do arrive, I worry it will be far too late for anyone to really care.

Such bugs, delays to patching and the uncertainty of a current-gen release wouldnt have been such an enigma, though, if Cyberpunk 2077 was simply given more time in the oven. Instead, CD Projekt Red was adamant to rush to a premature launch date to satisfy the whims of upper management and those omnipresent shareholders.

Best Pc Settings To Play Cyberpunk 2077 Smoothly Without Upgrading Your Hardware

How to fix Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4! Big Improvement!

Its been nearly a week since the launch of CD Projekt Reds Cyberpunk 2077. And with a game of a scope as gargantuan as this, its inevitable for gamers to encounter tons of graphical hiccups at launch. But get the graphics settings right, and the game can truly live up to its breathtaking status.

If youre still mulling over purchasing the game, perhaps it might be more advisable to get it on PC, given how it is rife with graphical issues and bugs on all platforms. We recommend PC because it is the platform what allows for the most visual tweaks that allow you to run it without resulting in too many glitches bogging you down.

So dont expect a constant 60fps , ray tracing or any of that fancy jazz just enough to make the game look good and play good at the same time.

While it runs fine on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, they arent the next-gen versions of the game, but rather just upscaled versions of the PS4 and Xbox One versions respectively, so its not the most accurate, let alone optimal presentation of Cyberpunk 2077. Also, not everyone will have a PS5 or Xbox Series X at this point, either, given how limited the stock for both consoles are globally, either.

In any case, here are the minimum and recommended specs for Cyberpunk 2077 on PC according to its Steam store page:

Minimum

  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD Radeon RX 590
  • Storage: 70GB SSD
  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit
  • Film Grain: Off
  • DLSS: Quality
  • Ray Tracing: Off

Cyberpunk 2077 Ps4 Pro Performance

If you’re worried about playing Cyberpunk 2077 on your PS4 Pro, don’t be. The game seems to run quite well on Sony’s upgraded last-gen machine, offering a mostly stable framerate. However, said framerate is locked to 30fps on PS4 Pro despite recent rumours claiming otherwise. There is no ‘performance’ mode here, unfortunately.

But again, it seems to be a steady 30fps without too many dips. The only annoyance that we came across was when we were driving, as the game would often stick for a second as it loaded in new assets. Still, not really a deal breaker considering the open world nature of the release.

There is quite a lot of pop-in on PS4 Pro, though. As you’d expect, pop-in becomes more prominent when you’re driving at high speeds or sprinting around busy areas. It’s not terrible, but it does have the potential to tear you out of the moment. We came across a few instances where NPCs would take several seconds properly form, with whole crowds looking like they’d just arrived in Night City from the PS2 era.

As for load times, they’re about what we’ve come to expect of open world games on PS4 . It took a good 45-60 seconds to load our save from the main menu. Loading vendor menus and other in-game interfaces also causes the game to chug a little the kind of stuff that’s instantaneous on PS5.

Cyberpunk 2077 is far from a bad deal on PS4 Pro. It may be locked at 30fps, but it runs well enough, despite some noticeable pop-in from time to time.

Quality: These Steps Apply To Both Pc And Console

Step 1: Navigate to the graphics tab in the menu

In here youll see a number of different settings: Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration, Depth of Field, Lens Flare, and Motion Blur.

Time to get the hatchet ready

Step 2: Film Grain: Turn this off immediately. It makes the game look foggy as Hell and actually may give you the odd frame or two back when playing on PC.

Step 3: Chromatic Aberration. Now, this usually should be kept on but itll basically make the screen react like a camera lens. In other words, itll amplify the effects of things such as neon, which play a big part in the game.

Some people may not like that look and turning it off can improve image clarity. Our view? Keep it on for console, but toggle off for PC.

Step 4: Depth of Field can add, well, more depth, to the image but it doesnt work well in console. Switch this off. PC gamers, keep this on youll notice the image doesnt quite look right.

Step 5: Lens Flare keep this on. Given just how much neon is dotted around, the city will feel a bit flat if the you dont get the effect of the light scattering over the iris.

Step 6: Motion Blur. Absolutely cull this immediately. Itll make everything look more hazy and less sharp. PC owners may opt to keep on, but Id argue removing adds further clarity which can help combat some of the blur from DLSS.

A note on HDR. Be careful! There are two HDR options HDR10 PQ and HDR10-SRGB.

Oh, and on that here are the settings I used on the 55ins OLED .

Every Ps5 Setting To Change To Improve Cyberpunk 2077

While players can’t change too much like the PC version of the game, there are certain things players can do to improve the performance of the game while in the settings of the game. Here’s what players should do to optimize their experience.

  • Turn Off Any Cinematic Features: In the settings, players should be able to turn off Motion Blur, Depth of Field, and Film Grain. While it does make the game feel more cinematic in its presentation, turning these off will make the game look much better.
  • Turn On Continuous Dialogue Skip: Head to Settings> Gameplay> Miscellaneous> Skipping Dialogue. There is so much dialogue in the game that players will vastly want moments to just skip it all and jump back into the game.
  • Disable Damage Numbers: Similar to titles like Destiny 2 and Genshin Impact, players can turn off individual numbers of damage they are doing. Head to Settings> Interact> Damage Numbers Mode. It will no longer clutter the screen. Health bars for enemies are present regardless.
  • Disable Background Chats: These are the characters in the background that speak indirectly in the area. As it’s a city, these little dialogue boxes will appear very often. Turn them off to remove clutter with Settings> Sound> Subtitles> Overhead.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.

Should You Play Cyberpunk 2077 On Ps4

cyberpunk 2077 how to make the game run better

Cyberpunk 2077 has finally launched after several delays, and the reaction has been somewhat mixed. Some reviewers have lavished praise on the game, claiming its one of the best RPGs of its generation. Others have been decidedly more reserved in their reaction, citing numerous performance issues and some lacklustre game design as reasons for scoring it lower or being less enthusiastic about it. Whatever your personal opinion about Cyberpunk 2077 may be, one thing is indisputable: the PlayStation 4 version has been one of the most controversial aspects of the games launch.

First, reports began rolling in that Cyberpunk 2077 was pretty much unplayable on the base PS4 . The PS4 Pro fares better, with slightly improved performance, but it still doesnt quite manage a consistent 30fps. Since then, CD Projekt Reds finances have taken a hit as a result of the last-gen console version of the game, and the situation has grown so drastic that Sony has actually pulled the PlayStation 4 version of the game from the PlayStation Store, offering full refunds to anyone who purchased the game in this way. With this in mind, we thought it would be a good idea to look at whether or not you should buy Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4, and what to do if you have bought it but dont want to play it on that console anymore.

Cyberpunk 207: Improve Performance

Go to the Game Settings tab, then to Graphics.

Disable the following options in Basic Settings :

  • Film grain
  • Lens Flare
  • Motion blur

On PC, in Advanced settings, the settings will depend on your configuration, but here are the 2 to keep to a minimum so as not to demolish the performance of the game:

  • Cascading Shadow Range: Low
  • Cascading Shadow Resolution: Low

Finally, an option that has helped us a lot is in the last part of the page, on PC, if you have a relatively recent Nvidia graphics card, Resolution scale:

  • DLSS: Auto

Be careful, however, we cannot guarantee a performance gain on all machines, you will sometimes have to experiment a little and make sure you do not have the wrong graphics option activated or set too high. Performance gains on all console models aren’t guaranteed either, but there’s a good chance it’ll improve things.
