After many excellent opportunities to grab a console in August, it looks September will also provide a good chance to get a console. Latest: PS5 restocks have been very slow this week. According to , we can expect a restock at Game between 14-16th September, and at Argos 14-17th September after 8am. Though as always it is not guaranteed to be this week. This follows availability at AO, ShopTo and Studio in this week. In the US, PS5 digital consoles were briefly in stock at Target. You can check the table below for all rumoured dates. Restocks at other stores will follow. Of course, these dates are subject to change.

Set before the events of the books in the 1800s at the famous Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry and the world beyond, Hogwarts Legacy is described as an open-world RPG that will take you on an adventure in the Harry Potter universe. Added to the list of upcoming PS5 games for 2022 after a delay, Adrian Ropp, head of Avalance, wrote in a blog post on PlayStation’s official website that the next-gen console will let create immersive experiences that will let “a player practically feel the terror of Inferi bearing down upon them” or “sense the ground rumbling beneath them as a heard of angry centaurs surrounds them”.

When Will The Ps5 Be Back In Stock In The Uk
Since PS5 pre-orders went live in September last year, gamers have been grappling to get their hands on the Sony console. Both the Disc and Digital Editions of the PS5 console have been plagued with stock issues, well over half a year later, the console is sold out across UK retailers.
When there is stock, retailers sell out within minutes of going live. There are even Twitter accounts such as PS5 Stock Alert UK that inform gamers of when new stock might be released to give them a chance in the world of crashing websites and virtual queues.
We dont yet know how long this misery will continue on for, but Sony is telling customers to expect the stock issues into the summer months at least.
When Are Retailers Releasing New Ps5 Stock
TechRadar has been one of the best and most reliable places reporting on PS5 restocks. It believes that Best Buy should have PS5 stock soon, given that it’s been over a month since the last. Antonline also usually drops PS5 bundles every week. For Walmart, keep on eye out on Thursdays.
Stores are unreliable when it comes to giving prior notice for PS5 restocks. Some may announce restocks that morning or the night before, while others just drop them with no fanfare. Retailers will in all likelihood have more stock throughout the coming months so you’ll probably have several chances to grab a PS5 for yourself. Stock can vary between retailers with some only offering online orders and others sometimes offering in-store pickup.
Part of the reason stock is so scarce aside from overwhelming demand is the ongoing pandemic and a global chip shortage that’s instrumental in making the PS5. It’s unclear when the semiconductor chip shortage will wane, but the Biden administration is looking to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again as it involves the tech industry as large.
During a recent earnings call in August 2021, Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki mentioned that the company had secured enough chips to hits its sales targets by March 31, 2022. The company should ship close to 15 million PS5 units by then.

Sony unveiled a line of accessories to accompany the PS5 at its official reveal event. These include a DualSense charging station, wireless headset, media remote, and camera. These PS5 accessories are now available to buy at the following prices:

We wouldn’t recommend paying more than MSRP if you happen to see scalpers trying to sell them. Just wait it out until you see them come back in-stock.
Ps5 Restock Latest News And Rumors
Jake Randall, a YouTuber and reliable stock tracker, was tipping Target for a restock this week. This proven to be a very good call as the retailer restocked the console earlier today . Unfortunately, the console is now sold out once again.
A GameStop PS5 restock was also being tipped for this week. This information came from a slightly dubious Reddit source, but the user in question did provide some evidence to back up their claims. It’s worth keeping a close eye on GameStop just in case this untested source proves to be legitimate but at this point in the week, it’s looking less likely.
Elsewhere, there is the possibility that Best Buy could restock soon as it hasn’t restocked in more than a month, but nothing is confirmed yet. Amazon could also drop again although the retailer did restock last week so another restock so soon afterward is unlikely.
In frustrating restock-related news, Sony has confirmed that supply of the PS5 isn’t expected to get any better this year. This would mean restock shortages continuing into 2022. Fear not, however, we’ll be here every day tracking restocks until the console is available without issue.

Nine: A Renewed Focus On Security And Privacy
One of the largest hot-button topics right now is the issue of privacy and security. The PlayStation Network has been hacked and taken down more than a few times. Sony will have to show a new and more stable type of security to win back the trust of the consumers.
Right now there are many different ideas in play, but one that has been getting a lot of interest, and funding, is a sort of verification to go online that involves you showing a digital passport. Once youre online you can do as you like, but this extra step would add another layer of verification. This concept is being developed by DARPA as part of their National Cyber Range Security Programme.
The other option would be a form of two-step verification that uses biometric security. The popularity of biometric security skyrocketed in 2015 from 6 million users to 770 million. Fingerprint authentication is the major player, and this could easily be implemented into the PS5 in order to verify your identity when you sign in.

PS5 consoles can store compatible PS4 and PS5 games to USB drives that support SuperSpeed USB*. That means you can save space on the internal Ultra-High Speed SSD, and save time by reinstalling PS5 games from the external USB drive, instead of redownloading them or installing from a disc.When youre ready to play a PS5 game thats on an external USB drive, simply transfer the game back to the internal SSD via the Options Menu within the Library. You can play PS4 games directly from an external USB drive, or from the internal SSD.*Minimum of 250 GB and maximum of 8 TB capacity.

Three: Hard Drive Or The Cloud
- The SSD in the PS5 has a 825GB capacity
- Third-party drives will work internally as well, but specific ones have yet to be named.
- The new drive loads data two orders of magnitude higher than PS4.
- This comes out to 2GB of data per 0.25 seconds!
- SSD confirmed for PS5 with higher bandwidth than anything on the market
- Spider-Man running on PS4 took 15 seconds to load after fast travel. On PS5 hardware the same task took 0.8 seconds!
Sony has been confirmed that the PS5 will come with a SSD which will improve load times dramatically. In their demo it decreased the load time by over 15 times!
When Mark Cerny traveled to visit with developers, a vast majority of them asked for a solid-state drive in the new system. To make this new storage work, Sony has to create a custom design, which is why we get the odd 825GB capacity.
In a recent PlayStation Blog post, developers shared their experience with this new SSD in the PS5.
Insomniac Games, who are working on a new Ratchet & Clank and Spider-Man title, weighed in saying:

Ps5 Restocks At Best Buy
Best Buy’s last PS5 restock was on October 6 for in-store pickup. Prior to that, Best Buy had multiple restocks for both the PS5 and PS5 Digital in late September/early October. All restocks sold out very quickly. Best Buy’s restocks usually happen in the latter half of the week , but this isn’t always the case.

Ps5 Redesign Reported For 2022 But Will It Be Black
Much like the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch Pro, the PS5 is reportedly set to receive a hardware redesign next year. As reported by DigiTimes , the semiconductor manufacturer TSMC is ramping up plans for the new PS5 revision, which also includes a new AMD 6nm CPU.
While the Switch did not receive this hardware upgrade in 2021 , this rumour is still floating around for the PS5.
This would be the perfect chance for Sony to release colour variants of the PS5, but unfortunately, it seems this may not be the case. According to these reports, the redesign will focus on the internal components of the next-gen console.
