Will God Of War 5 Be On Ps4

Don't Miss

God Of War Ragnarok Gameplay

God of War PS4 Walkthrough Part 5

God of War Ragnarok gameplay is still mostly a mystery. Presumably, itll build off of elements from God of War. However, its still not clear exactly what the sequel will change and what itll keep. Likely features include upgradeable weapons, foraging for materials, skill trees, and other common RPG elements.

God Of War 5 Ragnark Gameplay

While I am shocked that God of War 5 Ragnarök has a 2021 release date, Im not shocked that we havent seen any gameplay. We dont imagine that itll play very differently from God of War, but well certainly see some improvements.

I want to see upgrades around the camera, the gear system and even how Atreus functions. In theory, this should take place three years after God of War, since thats when Ragnarök should begin after Baldurs death. If thats the case, then Atreus should have a whole new host of abilities to mess with, and since I imagine we arent starting the game back to zero, Santa Monica Studios has to figure out how to build upon the massive skill tree we already earned in the previous game.

Additionally, we expect at least one major battle to break out between Kratos and Freya, since she did vow vengeance against us for killing her son, Baldur. So, going toe to toe with the original Queen Valkyrie is probably going to be as scary as it sounds.

Just in the new trailer alone, we see Kratos have a confrontation with Freya as well as Thor. The combat looks smoother, more fast-paced, but overall built on the same foundation as the original. Instead of rowing a boat through Midguard, you will be sledding with some adorable pups. Well, you’ll be able to row your way in other areas. Also, Kratos can now just jump from huge heights to do badass ground pounds. And the Blades of Chaos act as grappling hooks for platforming.

Sony’s Support Of The Ps4 Only Bodes Well For God Of War Fans

God of War

Specifically, SIE CEO Jim Ryan also mentioned previously that PS4 support is planned to extend through 2021 and 2022. It’s no secret that the PS4 was one of the best-selling consoles of all time, but Ryan is making it clear that cross-gen games will be the reality for as long as possible. Until the PS5 is in more homes, and not sold out among all the major retailers like at launch, the PS4 will likely be receiving plenty of support into the next year or two.

Which can only bode well for God of War fans who will still be on PS4 next year. It’s one thing that the PS5 continues to sell out, but it’s also worth pointing out that the launch lineup so far hasn’t drawn a majority of the PS4 userbase off the ecosystem entirely. Backwards compatibility is also a huge draw for the PS5, but until official sales numbers are revealed or calculated, the PS4 userbase will still be very strong moving into 2021. That being said, as the PS5 games lineup continues to expand with games like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Horizon: Forbidden West, God of War sequel could serve a similar role with those games: “system sellers.”

God Of War: Ragnarok Release Date

God of War: Ragnarok is due to release in 2022 on PS5 and PS4, following a delay from its initial 2021 release window.

There was already speculation that Ragnarok could be delayed, given that Sony hadn’t mentioned the sequel in its plans for 2021 since the game’s announcement. Sony Santa Monica Studio confirmed the delay in June 2021, releasing a statement on Twitter.

We had hoped the PlayStation Showcase 2021 would give us a more concrete date, but we weren’t so fortunate.

God Of War Ragnarok Release Date

At the Sony PlayStation Showcase on September 9, developer Sony Santa Monica and publisher PlayStation Studios announced that God of War Ragnarok has been delayed to 2022.

Previously, in a Q& A with Herman Hulst, Sony Interactive Entertainments head of worldwide studios, it was revealed that the game would be pushed to some time in 2022.

So we have, currently, two very big, very narrative-driven games in development: Horizon Forbidden West and the next God of War, explained Hulst at the time. For both of those, theyre frankly affected by access to performance capture and talent. For Horizon, we think we are on track to release this holiday season. But that isnt quite certain yet, and were working as hard as we can to confirm that to you as soon as we can.

For God of War, the project started a little later. So weve made the decision to push that game out to next year, to ensure that Santa Monica Studio can deliver the amazing God of War game that we all want to play.

As it stands, God of War Ragnarok will launch at some point in 2022.

God Of War 5 Gameplay Trailer Finally Arrives At September Playstation Showcase

God of War PS4 Walkthrough – Part 5

After a painstaking wait, and a seemingly endless supply of false rumours, we have received a God of War 5 gameplay trailer. And we are glad to report that it was worth the wait.

Featuring gorgeous visuals, brutal combat, and enough plot points to keep our brains spinning until the games 2022 release, it was the trailer that fans have been yearning for.

The trailer, as well as the media announcement that followed, confirm a great deal of our speculation. However, some important new information has come to light.

Firstly, the last games director Cory Barlog has stepped aside from the directors chair and allowed lead designer Eric Williams to take the reigns. In the showcase interview Barlog sited exhaustion as the reason for taking a back seat in God of War 5s development.

Also very interesting is that it has now been officially confirmed that Ragnarok will be the final chapter in the series Norse mythology period. Where the future of the series lies is anyones guess, so well just have to wait and see what hints we get in the upcoming game.

The Character And Tone Of God Of War 5

God of War 5 promises to continue what made its direct predecessor so successful. By altering the tone of the original games, the developers were able to add a poignancy no one thought achievable in a God of War game. Kratos is presented as living proof of the damage that violence inflicts on those who use it.

His violent past, while never exactly denounced, is used as a cautionary tale. It is apparent how much Kratos wishes to protect his son from the same cycle of war and revenge that he himself is a product of.

The set-up for this tonal shift the beautifully meditative introductory passage of the game where Kratos teaches his son Atreus to hunt is a revelation. The dialogue imbues Kratos with a painful wisdom that raises the emotional stakes of the game.

God of War 5 will reap the benefits of this careful character development. When considering the illuminating ending of its predecessor, its difficult to see how it couldnt.

Spoilers: At the end of the game it is revealed that Atreus is also Loki a character of mischief in Norse mythology. This suggests that Atreus and Kratos may eventually find themselves on opposing sides a rift that will cut deep for fans who spent so much time watching the father and son duo slowly develop trust and understanding for one another.

Everything You Need To Know About God Of War: Ragnarok

Oh boy.

The Norse realms seem even harsher in God of War: Ragnarok. As of December 2021, the latest weve heard is an unconfirmed leak claiming the game will launch in late September 2022. But how credible is that? Here’s everything you need to know about God of War: Ragnarok.

Sony has finally confirmed the upcoming games title and offered an intriguing look at the story ahead. The story seems to pick up shortly after its predecessor leaves off, with Kratos and Atreus asking all the same questions fans have been wondering about since that cliffhanger finale.

God of War Ragnarok is still “coming this year”, according to animation director Bruno Velazquez. In a response to fans on , the comment comes after Cory Barlog issued an update yesterday to say the game is not ready to be shown just yet. This raised concerns for some PlayStation 5, PS4 players that the sequel won’t be ready to release in 2022.

While Barlog explained Santa Monica Studio isn’t ready to show God of War Ragnarok just yet, he did say it’ll be shown as soon as it’s ready. “I guarantee you, the moment, the very second that we have something that we’re ready to share, we’re going to share it with you.” With Velazquez’s comment taken into account, it sounds like the next time we see the title, the actual release may not be too far off.

Ragnorok is coming this year. Bruno Velazquez

The game has already been delayed once, out of 2021 and into this year although, a release last year never seemed likely. Since then, Sony has continued to reiterate a 2022 launch for God of War Ragnarok. Reliable journalist Jason Schreier is also confident the sequel will be out before the end of the year. Of course, a delay isn’t going to be announced through an individual developer’s Twitter account, but it’s still positive to see the team on the 2022 train.

Where do you fall? Do you believe God of War Ragnarok will launch for PS5, PS4 this year, or is another delay on its way? Decide in the comments below.

Is God Of War Ragnarok Coming To Ps4

God of War Ragnarok will likely be a cross-platform release, launching on both PS4 and PS5. The game was explicitly name-checked by Herman Hulst in an interview that noted multiple games will be arriving on PS4, too.

Where it makes sense to develop a title for both PS4 and PS5 for Horizon Forbidden West, the next God of War, GT7 well continue looking at that, Hulst said.

And if PS4 owners want to play that game, then they can. If they want to go on and play the PS5 version, that game will be there for them.

God Of War Ragnarok Development

Staying true to what we did last time, its keeping the father-son relationship moving, Williams told the site. It doesnt just stop, like, oh, we finished this for mom, were good. No, like, theres a lot more that goes on in life, and it continues moving forward.

Last time, it was one kid with a lot of adults talking. This is like, well, there are some different perspectives. Were gonna see it from a kids perspective in the world, figuring things out that they thought were black and white, or maybe much more gray, and a lot more family dynamics.

God Of War 5 Ragnark Release Date

Shockingly, we actually had a release window for God of War 5: Ragnarök — 2021. However, since then, God of War has unsurprisingly been delayed to 2022 . Even getting this game out next year is wild, considering God of War just launched in 2018. Sure, Santa Monica Studios has had four years, but it is way sooner than how long it took to get Horizon Forbidden West and The Last of Us Part II.

Since Santa Monica Studios already built God of War from the ground up, we imagine that itll be much easier to create a sequel to the 2018 game of the year, but since this title will be coming to PS5, well get enhanced graphics at hopefully higher frame rates.

There hasn’t been an update on the release date for God of War 5: Ragnarök, but we recently learned that God of War will be backwards compatible with the PS5 and the game will also carry over your save data from the PS4.

It’s been practically dead silent on the news front concerning God of War 5 Ragnarök, but we got some insight into what platforms the next God of War game might be on, at least according to former Santa Monica employee David Jaffe.

Jaffe was streaming none other than God of War when he made a comment on the fate of God of War 5 Ragnarök. “I’m sure the next God of War will be PS4, PS5,” Jaffe said. “Of course it will.”

We haven’t received any news about the latest God of War title, but Cory Barlog is with story details.

God Of War: Ragnarok News And Rumors

Alfheim Online | God of War (PS4) | PART 5

Concluding the Norse saga

Santa Monica Studios creative director, Cory Barlog, has confirmed in an interview that Ragnarok will conclude the Norse storyline that started with 2018s God of War on PS4. Barlog explained that the main reasons to conclude the Norse saga in God of War: Ragnarok was because of the long development time involved in making a modern God of War game. Between the five years taken to develop 2018’s God of War and the four that will be spent on Ragnarok, the studio would rather the Norse storyline didn’t run over nearly 15 years through a third game, as itll be too stretched out.

“Expressive choice” through new shields

The game will bring Kratos and players enjoy a little more variety when it comes to the shields that can be used, according to director, Eric Williams, in an interview with God of War YouTuber Jon Ford.

When Ford pointed out that in the most recent trailer there are moments where it looks like Kratos Guardian Shield has a different design and Kratos is using it in different ways, Williams said this was true and that while he didnt want to go too deep on it, the game will have different shields, and they have different defensive options and abilities.

The reason for this, William explained, is because he and the team at Santa Monica Studio really want to open up expressive choice to the way that you build your Kratos, like the equipment and loadout and things like that.”

Will God Of War Ragnarok Be On Ps4

The God of War sequel is planned for PS5, but it’s also coming to PS4. The news of a previous generation version was quietly shared via a Q& A with Hermen Hulst, the head of PlayStation Studios, on the company’s blog. At the September PlayStation Showcase, Sony confirmed that Raganrok will be released across PS5 and PS4, though there is no word yet on any differences between the editions that might exist. Sony’s God of War Ragnarok website also says that you’ll be able to upgrade the PS4 digital or disc version to a PS5 digital version at an additional cost, but hasn’t yet said what that will be.
