Godfall Was Made With Ps5 In Mind But Can Be Played On The Ps4 By August 10th
Godfall got a lot of hype as it came close to its launch. Upon its official release to the gaming community, however, its fans were left dissatisfied with the games lack of depth, as well as a clear over-reliance on grinding. It has been 10 months and fans are starting to get antsy about when Counterplay Games will finally address the games issues.
Thankfully, it would seem that Godfalls gameplay issues may be fixed when the update is rolled out on August 10which is also the same time that the game will be playable on Sonys last-gen console.
Apart from giving the PS4 some attention through a back-release, Godfall is also going to be getting two new expansions. The first expansion, Fire and Darkness, will be giving Godfall players access to a new location. The second one, Lightbringer, is an update that has promised to expand Godfalls endgame content.
When Godfall was released to the public nearly a year ago, it was only playable on the markets next-gen consoles. As previously mentioned, come August 10th, the game can then also be played on the PS4. However, players need to take into account that Godfall was developed with forward-facing features, such as ray tracing. With that said, paring it down to work well on last-gen hardware was no easy feat.
Players who are expecting ray tracing on Godfalls PS4 version will be hugely disappointed. Simply put, last-gen hardware is just not made to render traced rays in any way that can make the game playable.
Looks Like Godfall Is Coming To Ps4 Soon
A new rating has been added to the PEGI website
UK ratings board PEGI has rated PS5-console-exclusive Godfall for PS4.
Although the game has not yet been announced as coming to PS4, Sony had already confirmed that Godfall will remain a PS5 console exclusive until May 21, 2021 , which might give us some indication of when we might see the game arrive on PS4.
As you might well expect, there’s been no change in the game’s rating between the PS5 and PS4, with PEGI confirming the latter will also be pegged as unsuitable for players under 16 years of age, and describing it as an “action role-playing game in which the player takes on the role of the last of the Valorian knights who must travel through various realms to prevent an apocalyptic event” ).
It says the game’s “depictions of realistic violence towards human-like characters” is why a 16+ rating has been applied.
Interestingly, the PEGI site gave no hint that there are similar plans to port it to Xbox consoles just yet and of course, it’s already available on PC.
While some PS5 games are cross-gen PlayStation exclusives, others like Godfall are on timed exclusivity deals awaiting release on other console families, and others still are true next-gen PS5 exclusives. Demon’s Souls is one such example, and we recently learned that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will skip current-gen and launch exclusively on PS5 .

Godfall Is Coming To Ps4 In August
Looter-slasher Godfall is only available on PC and PS5 at the moment, but the game has just been announced for PS4, too.
Godfall is perhaps best known as a middling PS5 console launch exclusive, but that description of the game isn’t going to hold for much longer: publisher Gearbox has announced it’s coming to PS4.
The PS4 version of the game will launch on August 10, alongside a free update for the game on PS5 and PC. This new update will introduce the Fire & Darkness expansion to the title, which will introduce new cosmetics and new experiences.
We’ve heard that the game might be coming to PS4 previously, thanks to a rogue PEGI rating that was seen spotted back in April.

It’s not really surprising we’re seeing the game move away from the PS5: as per a note on the titles launch trailer, it had a six-month exclusivity deal for PS5 and PC via Epic Games Store, which expired on May 12.
The game didnt review too well when it launched in November 2020, with most scores coming in fairly low.
Some impressive visuals and solid combat make Godfall fun to hack n slash in, but its only going to be memorable for its release date, our own Tom Orry said in his Godfall review.

When Is The Release Date Of Godfall On Ps4
Godfall was previously rumored to be making its way to the PlayStation 4 after details of its PEGI rating emerged. Months later at E3 2021, Gearbox confirmed that Godfall will indeed be available on the PS4.
Godfall on PS4 will release on August 10, 2021. Unsurprisingly, Godfall will come with a free PS5 upgrade for PS4 owners who are planning to get the game on the PS4 and upgrade to a PS5 later on. In addition to this, Godfall on the PS4 will be cross-gen compatible, which means that players on the PS4 and PS5 can team up with each other.
Unfortunately, because Godfall is not a cross-play or cross-save title, players on the PS4 and PS5 cannot team up with those on the PC and vice versa.
‘godfall’ Will Hit Ps4 On August 10th
Godfall was the first game confirmed for PlayStation 5 all the way back at The Game Awards in 2019. Counterplay Games and Gearbox are looking to expand the player base by bringing it to PS4 as well. If you pick up the flashy looter-slasher on the last-gen console, you’ll get a free upgrade to the PS5 edition.
There have been a ton of cases of PS4 and Xbox One titles getting PS5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrades, but we haven’t seen many examples of games going in the opposite direction.
A paid expansion called Fire and Darkness is coming, with new enemies and a mission to save the Fire Realm. All players will get access to the Lightbringer update, which adds a new endgame mode, a matchmaking beta, dozens of loot items and more than 50 skins for Valorplates, the core armor sets that give players different abilities and buffs.
Godfall will arrive on PS4 on August 10th. The expansion and update will be released on the same day on PS4, PS5 and Epic Games Store.

Is Godfall coming to PS4? The new looter-slasher from Counterplay Games has been highly anticipated since it was one of the first next-generation games we got a look at. We now have plenty of gameplay footage and information about the game and we cant wait to get our hands on it. But will Godfall be getting a PS4 release?
The Other Free Ps Plus Games Are Mortal Shell And Lego Dc Super
[Update: Following a leak last week, Sony has confirmed three PlayStation Plus games for December 2021. Starting on Dec. 7, subscribers can claim Godfall: Challenger Edition , Mortal Shell , and LEGO DC Super-Villains . But, theres a twist.
Rather than the normal full-game Godfall experience, this PS Plus freebie is a newly-whipped-upChallenger Edition that focuses on three endgame-level modes called Lightbringer, Dreamstones, and the Ascended Tower of Trials. As Sony puts it, youll be immediately equipped with a spread of deadly weapons and skill points, letting you team up with up to two other players in co-op, and Challenger Editions endgame co-op is compatible with all upgraded editions of Godfall and supports cross-gen play.
So where does that leave us? Godfall: Challenger Edition players can upgrade at any time to the Deluxe Edition, gaining access to both Godfall and Fire & Darkness campaigns.

Counterplay Games’ Action Rpg Will Debut On Xbox Platforms And Steam With This Release With A Limited

Counterplay GamesGodfall will be getting an Ultimate Edition on April 7th for PS4, PS5 and the Epic Games Store. This also marks its debut on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Steam which can purchase the title for $30 for a limited-time. Check out the latest trailer below.
Xbox Series X/S players also benefit from features like Dolby Vision and Variable Refresh Rate support . The Ultimate Edition includes the base game along with its Fire and Darkness Expansion. Pre-order and Ascended cosmetic packs are also included. The free Exalted update, which adds new Valorplate Shards for further customization and new story sequences, releases on the same day for all platforms.
While Godfall supports cross-gen play between PS4 and PS5, cross-platform play with PC still isnt possible. Its also unknown whether this will be added for other platforms or even between Epic Games Store and Steam players. Stay tuned for updates on the same in the meantime.

Godfall Is Now On Ps4 Includes A Free Next
The PS5-console exclusive looter-slasher Godfall is now available on PS4.
The PS4 version includes a free next-gen upgrade to the PS5, and includes cross-gen cross-play. PS4 and PS5 players can play together in multiplayer.
However, the big news is that the game now has a permanent price cut.
Since its now a PS4 game, the price on PS Store Asiastarts at RM249 for the Digital Deluxe Edition . The games initial launch saw it priced at the new $70USD-tier pricing equivalent for Malaysia which is RM299.
Not only that, it looks like on PC , Godfall got a massive price reduction as well. The game is now priced at RM68.49, compared to roughly RM214.12 on launch. The Digital Deluxe Edition is RM102.99.
Our previous report saying Godfall is cheaper on PC remains true, but now the price is much more reasonable, considering the critical reception this loot-based action game has received.
Alongside the new PS4 launch is the new Lightbringer free update, which adds more loot and endgame matchmaking . Plus, theres a new paid expansion, Fire And Darkness, that adds a new story, more than 20 Valorplate skins and more content.
If you are still curious about Godfall, and hoping that it may now be in a better state than before, well, the games cheaper now, and available on a console thats not that scarce to get a hold on.

The Action Game Landed Last Fall For Ps5 And Pc But Didnt Make A Splash
When the PlayStation 5 launched last fall, it did so with a stacked lineup of games, including Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a total remake of Demons Souls, Astros Playroom, and…oh, right, Godfall! The Gearbox-published action game didnt exactly take off like a rocket ship on PlayStation 5 or PC, so now its coming to PlayStation 4.
Rumors have swirled around a potential PS4 release of Godfall since the spring. Today, Gearbox confirmed the news during its otherwise low-key E3 press conference. Itll land on August 10.
Godfall first released alongside the PS5 on November 12, 2020. As far as action games go, it was a genuinely solid one, with eye-popping visuals and some satisfying hack-and-slash gameplay. But amid the other heavy hitters of the seasonincluding third-party super-blockbusters like Assassins Creed Valhallait never gained a foothold.
Alongside the new platform, Godfall is getting an endgame expansion called Fire and Darkness. In addition to a ton of new enemies, like dragons and ogres, itll also add more than 50 new valorplate skins. Heres a trailer:

Godfall Coming To Playstation 4 Alongside New Expansion
Will it rise again?
Following a ratings board leak earlier this year, it is now confirmed that Godfall, the PC and PlayStation 5 fantasy looter published by Gearbox, will also launch for PS4.
It is perhaps surprising to see the visually-impressive role-player getting ported to last-gen – not that we saw much of what that PS4 version might look like today. But this move will, obviously, open up the game to a wider audience.
Today also brought word of Fire & Darkness, a new expansion for Godfall which adds in a new realm, new story, and a hoard of new loot.
Both the PS4 version of Godfall and Fire & Darkness will arrive on 10th August.
At launch, Godfall garnered a mixed response, with Vikki Blake calling it “a beautiful but hollow action RPG” in Eurogamer’s Godfall review. “Godfall offers obnoxiously stylish next-gen spectacle, but its appeal only runs skin deep.”
Today’s announcement notes that developer Counterplay Games has updated Godfall regularly since then, and focused on community-requested features and quality of life enhancements.

Godfall Challenger Edition Ps4 Vs Ps5 Comparison: Is It Worth The Upgrade
Godfall Challenger Edition is a part of the PS Plus games lineup and is available on PS4 and PS5. Heres a comparison between these two consoles.
Godfall was being touted as one of the next-generation games before the PS5 launched back in 2020, but the claim has all but vanished now that the game is also available on PC. We were the first one to report that Godfall will launch on the PS4 thanks to a rating submitted in Taiwan, and the new challenger edition that is only focused on the endgame content appears to work for the PS4 as well.
If we compare the two versions, it becomes clear that Godfalls next-generation exclusivity was purely a marketing ploy to drum up sales for the game during the launch of the PS5. The game runs perfectly fine on the PS4 and looks nice enough while the performance is satisfactory.
The main difference appears to be in the resolution, which is lower on the PS4/PS4 Pro than the PS5. It appears to render at a dynamic 1080p resolution but the upscaling is quite decent. It runs at 30 FPS, which is lower than the dynamic 4K at 60 FPS supported by the PS5. Some of the effects are toned down e.g the number of leaves in the background. The texture quality appears to be the same while the same applies to the quality of the reflections.

Counterplay Games is bringing its looter-slasher Godfall to PlayStation 4, the developer announced at Gearbox Entertainments E3 2021 showcase on Saturday. Godfall Ps4 Will Give Free Upgrade To Ps5 Version Supports Cross

After the revelation that the previously PS5exclusive loot and slasher Godfall would be heading to PS4, Gearbox Software and Counterplay Games have also confirmed that folks who buy the PS4 version will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free.
In addition to providing a free upgrade to the PS5 version of Godfall, it was also revealed that cross-generation crossplay will be supported too, allowing PS4 and PS5 players to wage war and scoop loot together.
