3. The PS5 should now ask you to choose which player will use the controller. Make your choice.
4. Unplug the cable.
The controller is now paired with the PS5 and you shouldn’t need to use the microUSB cable again.
The most important limitation of using a PS4 controller on a PS5 is that even after connecting it, the controller will only work with PS4 games that you play on the PS5. You can’t play any native PS5-only titles with a PS4 controller. If you try, you’ll simply see an error message that advises “PS5 games can’t be played using the DualShock 4.”
Note: While PS4 controllers work with the PS5, the opposite isn’t true. You can’t connect a PS5 controller to your PS4 it won’t be recognized as a valid device.

Sony has announced that the PS5 will be released in the US and Japan on November 12 and in the UK and Europe on November 19. Theres two versions of the console up for grabs, a Digital-Only Edition and a Standard Edition, which will cost $399/$499, respectively.

Is Connecting A Ps5 Controller To A Ps4 Worthwhile
If you try to use a PS5 controller with a PS4 system, you wont enjoy the next-gen experience with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback because theyre not designed to work that way in general.
If your PS4 controllers are broken, and you only have a Dual Sense controller, you can use the approach as mentioned earlier to get things done for now. Aside from that, the DualShock 4 is a better choice.
Reset Your Controller By Telling The Ps4 To Forget It
If your pairing issues arent related to power or your cable, you might need to reset your PlayStation controller, and your factory reset your PlayStation 4 to pair it again. If youve got a controller that still works, you can do that in the PS4s Settings menu. Its on the home screen on the far-right side, represented by a Suitcase icon.
Navigate down to the Devices menu, and then choose Bluetooth Devices. In the Bluetooth settings, youll see all your controllers there, as well as any other Bluetooth devices that are compatible with your PlayStation, such as PS4 headsets and the greatly-improved PDP PS4 Bluetooth Remote. Choose the one youre trying to reset , select it, and hit the X button.
Now hit the Options button on your controller to bring up a contextual menu, and select Forget Device. Doing so will cause your controller to unpair with your PlayStation 4.
Once thats done, you should be able to plug the controller in with your USB adapter to pair it to the console again, as mentioned toward the start of this guide.

Ps4 Controller Connection Issues With Ps5
Even though I play a lot of the new PS5 titles, some of the games I enjoy playing with friends are made for the PS4. Things like Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat, and Cricket 19 are all PS4 games. That means I can easily connect a PS4 controller to the PS5 and use it to play local multiplayer games on PlayStation with friends. Plus, you can install PS4 games on an external hard disk on PS5 which is great to save storage.
However, recently I came across an issue where the PS4 DualShock would just not connect to my PS5. Pressing the PS button simply flashes the light strip white for a bit before the controller turned off again. I tried charging it, and using a USB cable to connect it to the PS5 but to no avail.
In this article I will tell you how to solve this problem easily, so read on.

Dualsense Vs Dualshock 4 Design
While they both look different, they manage to carry off the classic PlayStation controller look, with the PS logo button at the centre and the traditional button layout.
In terms of practicality, the DualSense is bigger, has a larger touch-pad and a front-facing light which makes it more visible than the DualShock 4’s rear light.
Ultimately, the appearance and feel are down to personal preference, but for us, the DualSense offers more practicality and the two-tone colour scheme stands out for us.

Why Is Ps5 So Expensive
The PlayStation 5 is also a historically powerful gaming console. This means it requires demanding and powerful technology. The price of cutting-edge tech is always higher than the last generation’s models. … Another reason these consoles are so expensive is how gaming habits have changed in the last year or so.
Dualsense Vs Dualshock 4 Price
As expected the DualShock 4 is the cheaper option, however, considering it is 8 years older, it is not significantly lower in price than the new DualSense.
Although, with that being said, the DualShock 4 does often go on sale for less and is readily available for a lot less if you’re willing to go for a used unit.
Of course, both consoles come with respective controllers included in the box, so if you’re stuck between going for a PS4 Pro or upgrading to PS5, this could be worth considering.

Perform A Hard Reset On Your Controller
If re-pairing the controller doesnt work, the issue might be with the controller itself and not the PS4. In that case, youll need to reset the controller. Youll need an unfolded paper clip with which to push a hidden button on your PS4 to reset it.
Turn off your PS4 and unplug both it and your internet router or modem so that your controller wont receive any network signals when you reset it. When thats done, flip the controller over and look for a small hole on the right side. Push the paperclip in the hole and push the button inside for three to five seconds. Its best to hold it down for a count of 10 to be sure.
When youve done that, plug in both your router and your PS4 again. Turn on the PS4, then plug your controller into the USB cable. That should re-pair the controller from scratch. If it doesnt work, you may have a broken controller on your hands.
