Financial Difficulties And Staff Cuts Force Overkill To Drop Payday 2 On Consoles

Overkill might be back to working on new content for Payday 2 on PC but the same can’t be said for the other versions of the game. This week, the studio announced that it would no longer be maintaining update parity across platforms, instead choosing to primarily focus on PC. The Nintendo Switch version of Payday 2 is also unlikely to receive anymore updates.
Writing in a transparent blog post, Overkill said that consoles have always been something of an Achilles heel in its production pipeline and despite efforts to strengthen development in that area, it hasn’t been enough so far. While steps will be taken to fix PC and console parity for Payday 3, currently, the Payday 2 team has too many constraints in available manpower to fix the issue in the short term.

The new safe house also offers specific daily missions with rewards and challenges that will unlock trophies in your safe house. You can invite your friends to your safe house to show them your personal progress as well!

You can upgrade the Safehouse in Payday 2 by using Continental Coins or CC. Continental Coins or CC are a form of in-game currency resource that can be obtained through multiple methods. Perform the following steps to get a lot of CC for your Safe House in Payday 2.
- For every 500K XP, you will get 1 CC, excluding Crime Spree.

Three Years Later You Can Finally Customise Your Payday 2 Safe House
Payday 2 now supports a much-requested and long-awaited feature.
Payday 2 is in the middle of a community event called Hoxton’s Housewarming Party, a ten day extravaganza of free content.
The first day delivered a great big patch and two new difficulty levels – Mayhem and One Down – as well as rebalancing for existing difficulty levels.
On the second day, Overkill delivered a new Safe House. Players level 25 and over can now upgrade different areas some examples of customisations include adding a shooting gallery with damage calculator, a tool to change the colour of your vehicle or opening the possibility of gambling to convert offshore cash to spending money.
The Safe House changes have proved petty popular it’s something Overkill has been talking about possibly maybe one day implementing since before the shooter came out of beta. It’s fantastic to see it finally make release – over three years on from Payday 2’s August 2013 release.
The third day of the event brought four masks depicting famous mobsters from the 1900s as well as four more masks colours and 45 colour sets.
Seven days remain, so if you’ve ever though of heading back into Payday 2 now’s probably the time. Don’t worry that microtransaction stuff is long gone. Keep an eye on the Payday 2 website for updates.
