A report from Bloomberg has stated that Sony could be holding a PS5 game reveal event on Wednesday June 3. Unfortunately, it has not been revealed what games might be on show at the event or if there will be any reveal of the consoles design. Its also been pointed out that the schedule could be altered due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Well-known game industry journalist Jason Schreier, who is now part of the team at Bloomberg, tweeted to confirm the details about the potential upcoming PS5 game reveal event. Fellow journalist Jeff Grubb has also been tweeting about the event, slotting PlayStation event in between June 2 for Mel Gibson picture and June 4 for Steamquisition.

So it seems those eager for official news about the PlayStation 5 better start marking June 3 in their diaries. The official PS5 website has also been updated lately, but just with a few new sections with headlines such as lightning speed, stunning games, and breathtaking immersion. It appears the PS5 hype train is gaining some momentum at last.

Added to the list of upcoming PS5 games for 2022 after a delay, Adrian Ropp, head of Avalance, wrote in a blog post on PlayStation’s official website that the next-gen console will let create immersive experiences that will let “a player practically feel the terror of Inferi bearing down upon them” or “sense the ground rumbling beneath them as a heard of angry centaurs surrounds them”.

Horizon Forbidden West Announced

A sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn was revealed for PS5, titled Horizon: Forbidden West. A cinematic trailer made the reveal, complete with Aloy riding a robot horse-type creature, swimming through what appeared to be the remnants of a flooded San Francisco, and climbing icy peaks. A release date was not listed.

Sony has confirmed that it will host a PlayStation 5 live stream conference in June. Theres no word on what, exactly, we can expect from this event at this time.

The PlayStation Twitter account only refers to it as a look at the future of gaming. Sony has also noted on the PlayStation blog that this virtual event will primarily focus on PS5 launch games, which is quite exciting considering that we havent heard about many confirmed launch titles as of yet.

This would suggest that this event will not serve as a full reveal of the PlayStation 5 console itself. That is to say, its possible that we wont get a look at the PS5s design, price, and release date quite yet.

However, there are a couple of recent developments that could mean that this will be a significant PS5 stream. The first is a report that Sony kept the date secret from just about everyone , due to its worries that stream information would be leaked ahead of time. That would suggest that this could actually be much more than just a brief look at a few PS5 games.

Of course, anything could happen. In 2020 only one thing is certainthat is, nothing is certain. Like a raging wildfire, protests could change into something else at any moment. The mercurial response from the White House could also impact the course of events. Who knows?

But for now, expect the big PlayStation 5 reveal to stream this Thursday. Hopefully we see a lot of cool new games that really show off what the PS5 is capable of.

I do think video games are a pretty great distraction from all the stress and pain this year has brought. What Av Connections Will Be On The Ps5

We were treated to a front-on view of the console during the PS5 reveal, but didnt get a glimpse of the back. We spotted a couple of buttons on the front of the standard PS5, which we assume are power and eject. You can also see there are two USB sockets on the front, one Type-A and one USB-C, presumably to cater for legacy PS4 controllers and the new PS5 DualSense wireless controller.

But what lies in wait around the back of the console? Were assuming an HDMI 2.1 output and Ethernet connection at the very minimum. Could there be an HDMI input for connecting an external source? Is there an optical digital output for connecting the console to legacy AV receivers and soundbars? What about the 1080p HD camera, how does that fit in? The console is also supposed to have expandable storage on top of its 825GB SSD hard drive, but will the extra bay be inside the console or could it be a slot around the back?

Hopefully, these gaps in the console’s specs will be filled in sooner rather than later.

Resident Evil 8 Revealed By Capcom Set To Release Next Year

I felt like I needed to at least put one third-party prediction on this list, and Resident Evil 8 seems to be as good of a bet as any. Given Capcoms track record in recent years to release one Resident Evil game annually, it stands to reason that RE8 will be launching at some point in 2021. The current rumors weve heard about the yet-to-be-announced project have indicated as much, too, meaning that we should be approaching a time in which wed start to learn of the games existence. Thursdays showcase seems like just as good of a place as any to see RE8 formally make its debut.

Plus, its worth noting that the past two Resident Evil games were also revealed at PlayStation events. Resident Evil 2 was announced during Sonys E3 2018 stream while Resident Evil 3 was revealed in a State of Play episode last year. The partnership between PlayStation and Capcom is clearly well-established at this point, as is the tendency to reveal RE titles at these types of events. This one isnt a guarantee to happen by any means, but Ive got a good feeling it will come to fruition.

Demons Souls Remake And Bloodborne Remaster Formally Announced

Given the recent leaks that have come about over the past week, this prediction is pretty straightforward. I believe that the rumored PC and PS5 remaster of Bloodborne and the remake of Demons Souls for PS5 are both real and each will be announced during this upcoming stream.

In the case of Demons Souls, this remake has seemed like a foregone conclusion for quite a bit. Bluepoint Games, the developers behind past remakes like Shadow of the Colossus, have been rumored to be working on Demons Souls for years at this point. Fans have also been begging for it to make a return, especially since the original games servers turned off a few years back.

As for Bloodborne, I do indeed believe that the game is set to come to PC and that Sony will reveal this during the PS5 event. If theres one specific detail Im still a bit hung up on, its the fact that a PS5 remaster of Bloodborne is in the works, too. Given that PS4 games will be compatible with PS5, I assumed that remasters wouldnt be releasing as often for next-gen systems. Still, I dont doubt the legitimacy of what weve heard already and definitely expect that a PS5 iteration of Bloodborne will end up appearing on Thursday.

A lot of todays news officially confirms rumours weve shared in the past: PS VR2 has a kind-of built-in rumble and is capable of eye-tracking. Itll also work in tandem with the two previously revealed motion wands, which are now officially known as PS VR2 Sense controllers. The setup utilises inside-out tracking, meaning the controllers are tracked by cameras on the headset itself.

This means that you can face any direction, and you wont lose tracking, which is a marked improvement upon the original PSVR which required you to face a camera directly in front of you. The headsets packing a 4K HDR OLED screen with a 110-degree viewing angle and a resolution of 2000×2040 per eye.

Therell be a single cord running from your console to the headset, and you wont need any other cameras or peripherals, beyond the aforementioned PS VR2 Sense controllers. Theres still no actual image of what the headset looks like, but apparently its scheduled to go into manufacturing soon, so we doubt youll be waiting too much longer for the details.
