You Can Finally Play Minecraft With Your Friends On Ps4
Minecraft cross-play has finally come to PlayStation 4. The last holdout on the block-builders platform-agnostic ambitions, Sony has finally agreed to whatever terms it needed to. Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is now on PS4, which means that PC, Xbox One, Switch, mobile, and PlayStation 4 fans can all play together like the great big happy family they are.
Now that Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is on PS4 as a free update if you already own the game the multi-platform release now shares unified code across every version. That means cross-play now works across everything, but it also means PS4 will get updates at the same time as other platforms, as well as the Minecraft Marketplace and its selection selection of worlds, skins, and minigames.
PCs Java Edition of Minecraft is still a separate version that can only connect with other Java Edition players across Windows, MacOS, and Linux. If you want to play with your console pals, youll still need Bedrock Edition, which is currently only available on Windows 10 via the Microsoft Store.
Check out a trailer for our delightful multi-platform future below.
Despite plenty of cross-play development on titles ranging from Fortnite to Rocket League, cross-play is still not a guarantee, and PS4 has typically been the last platform to adopt the feature. Heres hoping were on the verge of a more open future for multi-platform multiplayer games.

If you want to use a DNS server other than Cloudflare’s for any other requests, change 1.1.1.1
This file will tell CoreDNS to treat all requests to mco.lbsg.net as requests instead for example.com, which is the core component of the trick

Minecraft Finally Gets Private Servers On Ps4
Minecraft on PlayStation 4 has finally caught up with the other versions in terms of functionality, receiving support for private servers.
00
Minecraft has been available on PlayStation 4 for over six years. Sony console users receive updates at the same time as other platforms and can play together. However, until now, so-called Servers and Realms have not been available on PS4, which enable users to create their own servers. Now this has finally changed.
Support for these features on PS4 has been added in the latest update. This enables users of this console to create private servers and play on those set up by other players.
This is a key change as private servers are often the place where the most interesting things in Minecraft happen. This is where we can find most of community’s creativity.
It is worth explaining here that classic Servers are set up by the players themselves. Realms, on the other hand, are created by developers, and we only gain control over them for a fee.
At the same time, Realms Plus subscription service was made available on PS4 . For $7.99 per month, we receive immediate access to the prepared server for up to ten players and a catalogue of over 100 packs with additional content from the shop, which is regularly enriched with new elements.
How To Crossplay Minecraft Ps4 And Pc

Minecraft easily supports crossplay with every platform, though it may be possible that you aren’t aware of the version which supports crossplay.
In the end, you will know which version of Minecraft supports crossplay and if you don’t have that, unfortunately, you won’t be able to play. Cross-platform for Minecraft was announced in 2017 on most of the platforms. While the cross-platform feature for PlayStation was released in 2019.Let’s start…

This guide may also work on other platforms which run Minecraft Bedrock Edition in future, and new versions of the game, however support isn’t guaranteed. If it is working on platforms not listed above, please create an Issue saying as such, and I can update the list above.
This will not work on any deprecated version of Minecraft .
Limitations Of This Trick

- You will no longer be able to connect to one of the featured servers, without changing your DNS back in your device’s settings
- This is fairly easy to do, but should be kept in mind

Minecraft On Ps4 Ps5 Finally Gets Two Missing Multiplayer Features
If youve bene playing Minecraft on the PlayStation 4 for a while now, youve been doing so without two key features that other platforms had access to. Those omissions have finally been resolved though now that both Realms and Servers have come to the PlayStation platforms which means youve got new ways to play with other players whether youre on the PlayStation 4 or are now playing on the PlayStation 5.
Mojang announced the release of the Realms and Servers this week with the video below shared to introduce the two multiplayer features. Though they both allow players to link up with friends and other random players, they function differently from one another.
Its official: Servers and Realms have come to PlayStation! Play online, create amazing co-op builds, or team up for an adventure:
Minecraft
When it comes to Servers, those function much like youd expect any other server to work in another game that supports multiplayer. Look for the Servers tab when youre in Minecraft and youll be able to choose from a number of different worlds created by players in the community where you and others can take part in all sorts of activities thatll differ depending on what Server youre in.
This gives you access to unique content created by your fellow Minecrafters, whom you can also play with! Mojang said about the features. Servers are full of competitive game modes, builds, and mini-games so creative that only our incredible community could have dreamed them up.
Online Servers In Minecraft Ps4
To play with friends online, youll need to select Online Server. This will launch you into a biome that serves as a server which means that any of your friends can jump into the world as long as the server is online i.e. you are online in the game.
Once youre in the game, press the touchpad button in the middle of your PS4 controller. After that, you can press Triangle to view invites youre received. If a friend has invited you to their server, an invite from them is how youll get into their world.
After pressing the touchpad button, you can press square to Invite friends. This will pull up a list of friends and from there, you can select the person you wish to send an invite to.
Theyll have to accept the invite and assuming everything works on the online side of things, theyll soon be loaded into your game world.
Thats it for our guide on how to invite & play with friends in Minecraft on PS4. For more information about Minecraft PS4, be sure to search for whatever youre looking for on Twinfinite. From this FAQ you can see that there is no support for adding new servers, only using servers from the list , only those already part of the list. So I assume no custom hosted server, but maybe Splitscreen only is supported currently???
Quote:
“CAN I CONNECT TO A SERVER?
Yes you can!
CAN I CONNECT TO A CUSTOM SERVER NOT IN THE SERVER LIST?
Due to console platform policy, you cannot connect to a server that is not in the servers list.”
Other console , mobile and Windows 10 versions have custom server support but PS4 doesn’t yet.
As far as I know at least. Best to wait for other responses or research anywhere you can find this.
That or get a different version of the game besides the PS4 version as it’s unknown when if it will ever get server support as it’s not likely Sony will change their mind. Then again the PS4 version took a while to even be Bedrock compatible too. But it’s good if you want to play it with the PSVR though.

How To Identify Your Server Address
To get started, you need to identify the address of the server you want to join. If you own a Shockbyte server, you can find your server address on your Multicraft server panel. This will be labeled as Server Address.
In the example above, the server address is 192.168.2.1:12345. Breaking this down, the Server IP is the set of numbers before the : symbol, and after this are the last five numbers which are the Server Port.
