A smaller consoleThe PS5 is a mammoth console. In fact, it’s the biggest console in modern history. But bigger doesn’t always mean better, and the PS5’s size makes it impractical for those who don’t have the shelving unit to house it – and, let’s be honest, not many of us do. With the PS6 , we’re hoping that Sony can learn from its mistakes, making the next-gen console smaller and more streamlined, while allowing for adequate airflow.
More affordable expandable internal storageIt will be possible to expand the PS5’s internal storage by popping off the side panel and installing an SSD, once Sony drops a software update to enable it – but it’s not that simple. The PS5 only accepts compatible NVMe SSDs, which match or excel past the existing drive specifications, and they don’t come cheap. These types of SSDs are typically pretty pricey, meaning that players may opt for external storage instead – but unfortunately, these externals storage options don’t harness the raw power of the PS5. With the PS6, we hope that Sony will make expanding internal storage easier – perhaps taking an approach similar to the Xbox Series X’s expandable storage card.

Playstation 6 Specs Features And Design
Reports have it that PlayStation 6 could sport a better version of PlayStation 5s Dual sense, 8k/120 fps capability, and 4k Blu-ray player. The imminent gaming console is also expected to feature improved graphics, more than 16 GB RAM, and a fully wireless system.
There are also rumors going around that PlayStation 6 would no longer be a disc-based console. The forthcoming successor of PlayStation 5 is also said to have an in-built wireless system and would be designed smaller compared to the PS5.
Though we can neither rely upon speculations nor completely decline on rumors, PlayStation 6 is likely to become the solution to the drawbacks of PlayStation 5. When Will The New Playstation Plus Be Released
Sony revealed the new revamped PlayStation Plus service on 29 March 2022, but it’s not due to be released until June 2022. While Sony initially kept tight-lipped on when exactly we’d see the new service launch, the company has since confirmed that the new PlayStation Plus will launch in the Americas on 13 June 2022, followed by the UK & Europe on 22 June 2022.
Do We Even Need A Ps5 Pro
Technically, no, but in three years’ time, we might see developers encounter more hurdles due to the PS5s aging hardware that results in noticeable compromises in games, like lower frame rates or resolutions. A PS5 Pro could revitalize a lot of older games if they get enhanced as we saw on PS4 Pro, and the additional horsepower should ensure that newer titles arent held back, either.

Ps5 Redesign Reported For 2022 But Will It Be Black
Much like the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch Pro, the PS5 is reportedly set to receive a hardware redesign next year. As reported by DigiTimes , the semiconductor manufacturer TSMC is ramping up plans for the new PS5 revision, which also includes a new AMD 6nm CPU.
While the Switch did not receive this hardware upgrade in 2021 , this rumour is still floating around for the PS5.
This would be the perfect chance for Sony to release colour variants of the PS5, but unfortunately, it seems this may not be the case. According to these reports, the redesign will focus on the internal components of the next-gen console.

Ps5 Review: T3’s Testing Setup

As the PS5 pre-orders began on 17th September 2020, there was not a black PlayStation 5 in sight. This did not stop the next-gen console from selling out almost immediately, with countless retailers running out of stock in mere minutes. This trend has continued ever since, through numerous restocks from the likes of Currys, Argos and .
If youre waiting to pre-order a black PS5, we do not know when they will open. The variant has yet to be officially announced. However, wed expect the same retailers shipping the white PS5 to also hold stock of a black version. Its worth keeping those links around for when pre-orders go live.

Will The New Playstation Plus Service Have Backward Compatibility
The new PlayStation Plus service will incorporate older games from Sonyâs back catalog across the original PlayStation, PS2, PS3, PSP, and PS4, though there are caveats. Most egregiously, PS3 games are only streamable, just as they were on PS Now. Thankfully, you will be able to download original PlayStation, PS2, PSP, PS4, and PS5 games to your device.
In addition, the list wonât incorporate every game released across each PlayStation console, but rather a selection from the companyâs catalog that will be âregularly refreshed,â according to Sony.

Will The Ps6 Be Smaller
One of the main criticisms of the PS5 is that its absolutely massive the largest video game console ever, reportedly. This has led to speculation that the PS6 will be a more manageable size. Personally, Im not so sure.
The PS5 may be big because it needed to be, but its also big because it makes business sense. Hear me out: when you release a new console, people will buy it because it is new and fast and trendy and exclusive. The size of new technology is rarely consequential to its success .
However, those who own a PS5 may be interested in purchasing a smaller, more aesthetic console further down the line. If they do, then Sony will have sold 2 PS5s to one customer, potentially double what theyd have sold if they chose to release a smaller unit to start with.
The PS6 may be slightly smaller than the PS5, though not so much smaller to discourage gamers from eventually wanting a smaller PS6.
Will The New Playstation Plus Service Include Sony
One of the best things about Xbox Game Pass is that several games are already on the service on launch day. Specifically, Microsoft launches all of its first-party games on the service day one. That paid off in 2021 as Microsoft released a strong lineup of games like Psychonauts 2,Forza Horizon 5, and Halo Infinite.
As part of an interview with GamesIndustry, PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan confirmed that first-party Sony games would not launch on the new service on day one. âThe way our publishing model works right now doesn’t make any sense,â Ryan told the publication. âBut things can change very quickly in this industry.â
So, itâs clear the new version of PS Plus wonât necessarily compete with Microsoftâs Game Pass model, at least when it comes to offering first-party games on day one.

How To Buy A Black Ps5
However, just because Sony has yet to release an official black PS5 doesnt mean that you cant pick one up from a third-party seller.
The company CMP Shells has offered fans the chance to get their hands on a black PS5 through black faceplates. Its limited edition CMP Blackout is no longer available. But there is a range of other faceplates on sale on their website.
Ps5 Pro Price And Release Date
We can make an educated guess as to when the PS5 Pro will be released along with its price based on what Sony did with the PS4 Pro. The PS4 Pro launched in 2016, which was three years after the original PS4 came out. That means we could see a PS5 Pro release as early as 2023, then, as the PS5 launched in November 2020. However, the Covid-19 pandemic and ongoing component shortages could push a PS5 Pro launch well into 2024 or beyond.
In terms of price, the PS4 Pro launched at the same price point as the original PS4, which was $399 / £349. The PS5 costs $499 / £449, so its likely that Sony could offer the PS5 Pro for the same price point if it follows the same strategy as it did for PS4 Pro.

When Is The Playstation 6 Coming Out
This article aims to compile what is known about the Sony PlayStation 6 , which at the moment is very little, but which will be updated with the news and leaks that become known. There is also speculation about what we can expect in the new console that Sony will launch after PlayStation 5.
Sony launched the PlayStation 5 in November 2020 and it has been a sales success , but the next console to launch is already being considered. Following this pace , a PS6 is not expected until November 2027 , approximate date, since Sony can modify its strategy as the technology market advances and also depends on the launches of its competitors.
We have also been able to see on PS4, in addition to the typical redesign with a smaller format, a more powerful PS4 Pro. A redesign that helps keep the console alive by giving it more power and adapting to the latest technology without leaving the format. We will surely see a redesign of the PS5 and maybe we can see a more powerful PRO model in the middle of its cycle, in 3 or 4 years.
