PS4, Xbox One and PC players will also receive a new update to make way for the new content coming to the Call of Duty title.
The game has been notorious for eating hard drive space, but is that the case this time around?
How Many Gb Is Modern Warfare If You Already Have Warzone
To make Warzone fits into your SSD much better, the install size for it is now shrinking rapidly, so your storage size can shrink as well. It will be 52 when Warzone gets its next update. In addition to a whopping 133GB, the PC weighs 4GB. If your Modern Warfare has not yet been installed, your data will be migrated to 6GB.
How Many Gb Is Warzone Right Now
As of this writing, Warzone comes in 52GB, 57GB, and 53GB sizes. There is a maximum capacity of 8GB on different platforms. There are 52 buttons on the PC. You will need an allocated amount of 4GB or 133GB for Warzone. While this update can provide 6GB of additional memory for Warzone and Modern Warfare, ensure that you account for all the savings before you install it.

Following the launch of Season 2 in February, Activision said the latest versions of Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare and Warzone may be too large to fit on a 500GB PS4.
It said players can free up storage space by deleting data packs as follows:
- Black Ops Cold War: At the main menu, press R3 to go to File Management. You will then be able to delete any content you may not have played in a while. The exact content to choose can be found in the Storage Management article linked below.
- Modern Warfare/Warzone: At the main menu, press Options, select the General tab, then scroll down to Game Installs. From here, you can delete any content you have not played in a while.
The publisher also provided a link to a webpage offering more detailed information on Black Ops Cold War storage management.

It’s likely Activision will follow the same content update process, meaning we will likely receive a mid-season update.
With Black Ops Cold War launching on the 13th November, there won’t likely be many updates to Warzone from a Modern Warfare perspective.
We won’t likely see a mid-season update anytime soon, as the Black Ops Cold War beta kicks off on the 8th October for two weekends.

Modern Warfare Install Size On Ps4 Xbox One & Pc
With three separate modes and plenty of content and pretty visuals to display in each one, Modern Warfares install size is pretty huge. On PS4, it comes in at 107 GB, Xbox One is 75 GB, and PCs recommended required space is 175 GB.

Its also worth noting that while early indications suggest Modern Warfares Xbox One install size is 75 GB, some players are reporting that theres an update of 14.25gb and the total space taken up by the game within the Manage Game option on My Games & Apps actually shows 120 GB.
Its worth noting that as is often the case with Call of Duty titles, Modern Warfare will likely receive several expansions releasing in the 12 months following its release.
These will, of course, add to this initial install size, but may also explain the 120 GB figure thats seemingly reserved for the game on your Xbox One hard drive.

The and Modern Warfare file sizes will be significantly reduced following a new 50GB+ update for the games.
Following the update, which launches on March 30 at 11pm PST/March 31 at 7am UK, the Warzone file size will be cut by as much a 14.2GB, and the Modern Warfare/Warzone file size will be slashed by as much as 33.6GB, depending on the given platform.
This will come after a larger than usual, one-time update for Season Two Reloaded, which will include these optimizations and is necessary in order to reduce the overall footprint future patch sizes for Modern Warfare and Warzone are expected to be smaller, Activisionsaid.
More Call of Duty:
The update in question weighs in at 52GB on PlayStation consoles, 57.8GB on Xbox consoles, and 52.4GB on PC / 133.6GB .
After the update, Warzone and Modern Warfare file sizes will be reduced by the following amounts:
- PS5: 10.9GB / 30.6GB
- PS4: 10.9GB / 30.6GB
- Xbox Series X/S: 14.2GB / 33.6GB

Modern Warfare players have discovered that Infinity Ward have made a secret change to the games Ground War mode, giving players a major health boost.
Modern Warfare dropped all the way back in 2019, yet remains popular with fans even three years later. With the next Call of Duty title set to be Modern Warfare 2, its no surprise that people are jumping back onto Infinity Wards last offering.
Even though the developers are hard at work finishing up MW2, it seems that Infinity Ward isnt finished with Modern Warfare just yet, and still drops updates on the game fairly regularly.
The games last update dropped alongside Warzone Season 3 Reloaded, but didnt include extensive patch notes for players to read. After playing the game though, YouTuber and CoD expert JGOD has discovered a secret change that changes Ground War massively.
In a tweet posted on May 29, JGOD revealed that after playing Ground War, he believed that Infinity Ward had raised the base health in the mode.
To prove this, he used the RAM-7, explaining that at 100HP, it should kill in four shots. In Ground War though, it took six bullets. This suggests that the modes base health has been increased to 150HP.

Call of Dutys file size has been the stuff of legend for a little while now, going back past Black Ops Cold War and into the Modern Warfare era. Things really got out of hand once Warzone came onto the scene, which does make a certain kind of sense: it is, at least sort of, a different game. But ever since then its been one of the largest games in the industry, forcing difficult hard drive management decisions for gamers of all stripes. And now, Activision admits that a base model PS4 no longer fits the current, complete, Call of Duty experience.
This might not be a concern for a huge number of players, because the PS4 has come with a 1 TB hard drive since the slim model took over in 2017. But if youve got a 500 gb hard drive, youll have to make some decisions about which parts of the game you want to keep and which ones youll be uninstalling, which Activision noted on its blog:
Those who own a standard PlayStation 4 with a default hard drive of 500 GB may need to make room if they have the full versions of Modern Warfare®/Warzone and Black Ops Cold War with all modes and packs installed.
Should you have both games installed and have kept up to date with updates, you may need to delete some unused Game Content to have a successful download and install of the Warzone patch tonight.

In recent history, the developers have allowed players to pick and choose what data to download due to the huge amount of storage that the games take up.
This way, players who only play the Multiplayer can uninstall the data for the campaign and any other extra modes. This is great, as it prevents storage from being taken up modes you dont play.
Luckily there isnt much that players actually need to play Modern Warfares Multiplayer.
