What Will Ps5 Look Like

Don't Miss

Will There Really Be A Ps5 Pro

What do you think the PS5 will look like? | TechRadar Talks

As technology continues to improve, graphics technology will soon be able to achieve that ray traced 4K 60fps future. When that happens on PC, fans will too be clamoring for a mid-cycle refresh that can offer similar gains. But demands on Twitter might not translate to a new system.

The PS4 Pro has been difficult to find these past two years, either due to high demand or low production. For those wanting to get a PS4 Pro, it was likely that they would need to find one secondhand or wait for a special edition bundle, like the ones featuring Spider-Man or Death Stranding.

Sony has never officially released numbers for PS4 Pro sales, which could suggest that they paled in comparison to the base PS4. Sony also recently discontinued production of the PS4 Pro, likely to prioritize PS5 production.

At the moment, its still hard to say if there will be a PS5 Pro or Xbox Series X2.

Is This What The Ps5 Will Look Like

Sleek ‘n’ sexy times ahead for PlayStation fans!

Mood lighting? Check. Curves in all the right places? Check. The iconic PS logo front n centre? Double check.

While were all going to have to wait and see just exactlywhat Sonys PlayStation 5 is going to look like, Twitter user FalconDesign3D hasconjured up their own sleek and smooth take on what the finished design of thePS5 may be.

Of course, some may point to the distorted, angled design asmaybe being a little too X-like for Sony bigwigs whod like to steer well awayfrom even the most minimal of comparisons to the Xbox, but still, FalconDesign3Dsideas for the PS5 unit are sure to have certain corners of the PlayStationuniverse purring at what theyre seeing.

As alluded to, this is all purely guesswork and one personsinterpretation on the PlayStation 5 based on some leaked images that may or may be a legit glimpse at the PS5. Since announcing that the PS5 was indevelopment, Sony has kept shtum and extremely hush-hush on any and all specificsof the console including the design of the system.

One of the view things that we do know about thePlayStation 5, is that it should be widely available before 2020 is out. Anexact release date, system specifics, and gaming options are yet to beofficially announced by Sony, mind. Either way, PS enthusiasts have already mentally put aside achunk of change big enough to pick up the PS5 upon its release.

Ps5 Redesign Reportedly Coming In 2022 With This Big Change

The PS5 is so popular that shoppers are still clamoring for PS5 restocks six months after launch, but there could be a big change on the way that’s worth waiting for.

DigiTimes reports that semiconductor manufacturer TSMC is planning on producing a redesigned PS5 at some point in the second and third quarters of 2022. And it could deliver considerably more power.

  • Plus:

The idea of a redesigned PS5 might seem a little premature given the current PS5 isnt even a year old yet. But the lack of stock and challenges around semiconductor supply did see Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki suggest stock shortages could be overcome with to electronic product design or finding other supply chain resources,

For example, we could find maybe second resource , or by changing design, we could cope with , said Totoki in Sony’s Q4 2021 earnings call transcribed by Seeking Alpha.

Its unclear whether Totoki is referring to the PS5 here or other electronics, or both. But combined with DigiTimes supply chain sources, the idea of a redesign PS5 doesn’t seem far fetched.

Ps5 Upgraded Amd Chip

According to DigiTimes sources, the redesigned PS5 could sport new silicon with a new semi customized CPU from AMD built on the 6-nanometer process node the current PS5 uses a 7nm custom octa-core AMD Zen 2 processor.

The move from 7nm to 6nm could see the PS5 deliver a performance boost and make more efficient use of its power. In effect, we could be looking at a PS5 Pro. This wouldnt be the most unusual thing, as the PS4 Pro followed the PS4 – but that was after three years after the latters release in November 2013.

Admittedly, a late 2022 release would mean only a two-year gap between the launch PS5 and a prospective pro version. But with semiconductor shortages making it difficult to find the current PS5 and its Digital Edition counterpart, moving to a console built around a different processor fabrication node could see Sony bypass that shortage. Thats assuming that 6nm chip yields could be strong enough to come with prospective demand.

We have no way to verify DigiTimes sources, but thats not stopped our brains from imagining what wed like to see from the PS5 Pro. An obvious one would be a more compact and less.striking design, perhaps one that can better integrate with existing entertainment units.

More power and increased SSD storage space would also be appreciated as the 825GB of storage on the PS5s super-fast PCIe 4.0 SSD isn’t very spacious for modern games and their large install sizes.

If Youre Wondering Whether A 4k Tv Is Essential To Enjoying A Playstation 5 Heres Everything You Need To Know

It doesnt matter what the PS5 looks like

Will you need a 4K TV for PS5, or will HDMI connection into a 1080p HD TV be enough for the PlayStation 5?

This is exactly the kind of question that you might be asking yourself at the moment, especially if youre among the lucky few to secure a PlayStation 5 amid the latest stock shortage.

Whichever version you received, the PS5 is a monstrously powerful console, with the kind of specs that used to be reserved for the highest-end PCs, not a home console.

As such, it comes equipped with a 4K UHD Blu-ray drive and will be able to do 4K with a vast array of other visual flourishes that help games look better than they ever have. Even the Share Factory video editing tool allows you to render 4K videos a huge jump up from the PS4s 720p videos we all-too-often saw shared via Twitter.

Its the kind of thing that sounds like a dream come true. You can be whisked away on clouds of fluffy visuals, drenched in fantastic-looking rain, and cook in-game food that looks so good you can almost taste it. Then you realise you dont own a 4K TV.

The Ps5 4k Viewing Experience

4K is becoming incredibly popular, due to its low cost compared to how high quality it is. No matter what you’re playing, 4K will let you see more detail in a higher resolution, along with better framerates.

However, to take full advantage of 4K, you’ll need certain equipment. Watching in 4K will require you to have a 4K television. You should also make sure you’ve connected your PS5 to the TV using a 4K-ready HDMI port, which may be labeled as such on your device. As for the HDMI cord itself, try to stick to the one that came with your PS5.

If you don’t have the right setup, your PS5 will still play in 4K you just won’t be able to see any difference.

The Ps5 Is Backwards Compatible With Most Ps4 Games

Nearly every PS4 game will work on the PS5. To quote Sony on the matter: more than 99 percent of the 4,000+ games available on PS4 will be playable on PS5. And even better, some PS4 games will run at higher or smoother frame rates on PS5, thanks to something Sony is calling Game Boost. In early tests, Digital Foundry found that the PS5 brings notable improvements to many PS4 games. See for yourself in this video:

That said, Sony says that some PS4 games will be missing functionality or may may exhibit errors or unexpected behavior on PS5. And 10 PS4 games arent playable at all on the PS5:

  • DWVR
  • Shadwen
  • Joes Diner

Youll also be able to play some PS3 and PS2 games on your PS5 through Sonys PlayStation Now cloud gaming service, which Sony only recently revealed would be supported by the new console.

Will Ps5 Vr Have An Improved Display And Lenses

Despite its age, the original PSVR’s display remains one of the highest-quality VR displays on the market. Even still, Sony says the PS5 VR headset will feature a higher-resolution display and a wider field of view . While there have been no official specs released for the PS5 VR headset’s display, rumors, and recent leaks show that the headset will feature a 4K display, with a resolution of 2000Ã2040 per eye, according to UploadVR.

Like many industry players at this point, Sony will likely migrate from an OLED panel to what’s called a “fast-switching” LCD panel. While OLED panels offer infinitely better contrast and deeper colors, fast-switching LCD panels offer a sharper image because they use RGB stripe sub-pixel arrangements. Of course, the PSVR’s OLED panel is one of the rare ones that actually uses an RGB stripe sub-pixel arrangement, so Sony could always surprise us with another generation of ultra-high quality OLED panels that don’t use pentile arrangements.

The PS5 VR displays will be higher resolution and feature reduced screen door effect and less mura.

Regardless of Sony’s tech choice, we know the PS5 VR displays will be higher resolution and feature reduced screen door effect and less mura. The current PSVR displays feature 386 pixel-per-inch pixel density. If Sony keeps the physical display size the same, and if rumors pan out correctly, this new display would feature a massively improved 787 PPI density.

Will Ps5 Vr Have Better Tracking

What Does the PS5 Look Like

Rumors, leaks, and even PSVR-specific patents suggest that the PS5 VR could sport cameras all around the headset, including on the back. That would give it a tracking advantage compared to Oculus Insight tracking â the technology used on the Oculus Quest, Oculus Quest 2, and Oculus Rift S â which utilizes four or five cameras only on the front of the headset. That means PS5 VR should be able to tell exactly where your controllers are no matter where you’re holding them. Right now, current inside-out tracking solutions tend to have dead zones when controllers are placed behind a player’s body or above the player’s head.

PS5 VR can track your controllers and likely your position in the room using cameras mounted to the headset.

The PlayStation Eye camera limits the original PSVR’s tracking abilities â a dual-camera system restricted to tracking from a single point in the room. While the PS5 does have its own HD camera, Sony likely isn’t using this camera for PS5 VR. The PS5 VR controller announcement states that the controllers would be tracked by the headset itself, a similar concept to how inside-out tracking solutions â like the Oculus Quest 2 â currently employ.

When Will Ps5 Vr Be Released

Sony’s official PS5 VR announcement stated that the hardware would not make a debut in 2021. That means 2022 is the earliest we’ll see a next-generation VR experience from Sony. For now, there are still several titles scheduled to come out for the original PSVR in 2021, including ones that run in enhanced mode on PS5 hardware.

How To Enable 4k On Ps5

While the PS5 may run in 4K, there are often times where the resolution or performance may look slightly lower than what it should be. If you want to use 4K on the PS5, here are some things wed suggesting checking/changing:

  • Make sure your TV supports 4K.
  • Use the PS5 version of a game rather than the PS4 version- the next-gen console has a habit of downloading PS4 games when you insert the disc, even when a PS5 version is available.
  • Go to Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output and select your desired resolution.

Ps5 Update To Fix Visual Output Issues

An upcoming PlayStation 5 firmware update should fix an issue Samsung TV owners have been facing when trying to play PS5 games in 4K/120Hz with HDR enabled.

Currently, Samsung TV owners wanting to enable HDR have had to reduce the output to 60Hz as a workaround.

However, as a moderator on the Samsung forums said, this issue is expected to be fixed in a March firmware update. According to this post, the error was with the PS5 rather than the Samsung TV.

Will Ps5 Vr Be Wireless

How The PS5 Will Look Like

While Sony has patented a method for making a wireless PlayStation VR headset in the future, the official PS5 VR announcement states that a cable will still connect sony’s second generation. Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan stated that this would be a single cable and simpler than the current PSVR solution. Rumors suggest that the PSVR 2 will plug into the USB Type-C port on the front or back of the PS5, just as some PC VR headsets can connect to a dedicated USB Type-C port on certain graphics cards.

Ps5 Vs Ps4 Pro: Should You Upgrade

The PS5 is here but is Sony’s new console right for you?

Which is the best choice in a PS5 vs PS4 Pro showdown? Anyone who owns Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro has probably been considering this question over the past nine months or so since the PS5 hit the market.

Although findingwhere to buy the PS5 is still proving to be difficult, we know stock levels are set to improve as 2021 rolls on, according to our PS5 restock tracker. That means, if youre on the fence about upgrading, its worth deciding whether you want to upgrade to Sony’s new console when the time comes, or if you should stick with what you’ve got already.

For starters, the PS5 significantly more powerful its GPU and CPU are far more capable than those youll find in thePS4 Pro. The next-gen console also loads games faster than ever before, which is thanks to its internal NVMe SSD.

We also think that the newDualSense controller is a game changer. It uses haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to make games feel way more immersive than before.

The PS5’s exclusive game library is also growing, which could tempt those who want to play games likeReturnal andDemon’s Souls to pick up a PlayStation 5.

What were saying is, theres still some life left in the aging PlayStation 4 Pro yet. However, withSony now beginning to discontinue the Pro, time might be running out if you’re looking to buy one.

What Could The Ps5 Pro Specs Be

The Sony patent describes a console that would come with two graphical processing units, which would be a first for the in-home console history. Currently, the PS5 runs on a custom-made system-on-a-chip that integrates an AMD-made central processing unit with a GPU into a single piece of hardware. Sony’s SoC delivers a whopping 10.3 teraflops of graphical power and lightning-quick load times.

The alleged PS5 Pro patent suggests slapping two SoC inside of a console, which would in theory double the PS5’s power.

“Plural SoCs may be used to provide a ‘high-end’ version of the console with greater processing and storage capability,” reads the document.

Achieving this from an engineering standpoint might be easier said than done. The PS5 was specifically designed to cool and maintain a single SoC, adding another would also double the heat the console is capable of producing when it’s running at full throttle.

Early PS5 adopters are already complaining about noisy fans in certain units. Housing two SoCs could mean even more fans or an even larger console to ensure the PS5 Pro won’t overheat. But this is all speculation for now, Sony might figure out a way to make a more powerful, single SoC which would eliminate the need to add another to the PS5 Pro.

An upgraded PS5 is still nothing more than a pipe dream at the moment, but this Sony patent provided some insights into what the company could be plotting next.

The PS5 Pro is rumored to be in the works.

Why Hasn’t Sony Revealed What The Ps5 Looks Like

7 Things The PS5 DualSense Looks Like!

Again, this all ties into Sony’s approach to marketing the PS5, and their slow-burn. Sony’s approach is in direct contrast to Microsoft, as their reveal at the Game Awards chose to lay a lot out on the table. There’s an air of mystery around the PS5 still, something that keeps fans guessing and wondering. Fans have known what the Xbox Series X looks like for months, as well as a few of the games that will hit the system at launch, or shortly after. The mystery of PS5 seems to be working so far, but only time will tell if Sony’s slow-burn approach will pay off more than Microsoft’s more direct one.
