18 months since Sony launched the PlayStation 5 and the market is still struggling to keep up with demand for the next-gen console. Whether that be scalpers at every turn, automated bots trying to swipe everything within seconds, manufacturing issues caused by the pandemic, or just the millions of other shoppers trying to get their hands on the games device it’s a minefield out there.

Is There A Specific Restock Time
Sony hasn’t fully laid out a PS5 restock time to buy from PlayStation Direct email invites. However, we do have a few details we can work with to give you a better idea.
First, there’s going to be an expiration date attached to the email invite you get. “If selected, the expiration date and time will be included in your selection notification email and while supplies last,” according to Sony.
Second, if there is a specific time attached and if there’s still a virtual queue process, it could stick with the time it’s been using most recently: 2pm EDT / 11am PDT. It has also used 3pm EDT / 12pm PDT in prior months. But for all we know, Sony could go with a time window over a specific time.

Ps5 Restock Price And Discounts
The PS5 with disc costs $499, whereas the PS5 Digital Edition costs $399. Unfortunately, it’s gonna be a long time before we see any discounts on the consoles. You’ll notice retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, and more routinely start to offer their PS5 stock to members of their premium subscription services. For example, those with a PowerUp Pro membership at GameStop are often given exclusive access to purchase PS5s.
Likewise, Best Buy Totaltech members may get early access to PS5 stock drops, and Walmart+ members are starting to get exclusive access to drops of new consoles. Of course, it makes it a bit more costly to acquire one, but this also means stock sells out slower.
Amazon members can also register via email to be selected for a chance to buy a PS5. It’s not a guarantee by any means, but like other sign-ups if you are selected, you have an exclusive window in which to purchase the consol.e

Where To Buy A Ps5 In Australia: Keep Checking These Stores For Playstation 5 Stock
PS5 is tough to get, but we’re here to show you where to look.
Still, maybe we’re on the brink of change. The first half of 2022 saw PS5 stock popping up much more regularly in Australia than it did in 2021 and late 2020, especially on Amazon. This is the best sign we have that availability could resemble something close to normal by the end of 2022. But then again, maybe not.
Competition to secure a PS5 is still really high, and that doesn’t look to be changing any time soon. Even in April and May when stock dropped more frequently, it still sold out in a flash. So you’ll want to keep an eye on the major retailers in case they do receive allocation.
Some retailers have been known to provide a few days advance notice, whereas outlets like EB Games tend to take pre-orders. That said, those pre-orders dry up pretty quickly too, so if there’s a local bricks-and-mortar store near you, it might be worth joining their waiting list, if they have one.
But the sad reality is that you’ll probably need to check the PS5 pages on each retailer’s site manually if you want a console right now: all relevant retailers are listed below. We’ll also update the top of this page occasionally when we get advance warning of a drop.

The PS5 was released on 19 November 2020 in the UK and sold out instantly. Some of the people who pre-ordered the console on Amazon found themselves greeted with not a shiny new PS5, but a bag of grain, a grill or some cat food instead. While most shoppers probably don’t get three years of Apple Care, Best Buy Totaltech’s automatic 2-year warranty could make the service’s $199.99/year price tag a little easier to swallow for Apple fans.
In addition, Best Buy Totaltech members will get access to exclusive deals. As with most retailers, setting up a Best Buy account ahead of time should be your first priority. You want to make sure that your payment details and address information is pre-saved in order to shave precious time off your checkout that could be the difference between securing a PS5 and being left empty-handed.
Previously, Best Buy PS5 restocks required that your refresh the product page until you see the yellow “add to cart” button or a grey “please wait” button. However, Best Buy’s new process places you in a queue. A pop-up windows says it’ll “verify your account” and check for inventory. So, it pays to sign into your account asap.
If you see that the PS5 is no longer in stock, you might want to try again via an incognito browser window. Repeat the process until you manage to score a console.

Amazon is now accepting registrations for invite-only PS5 restocks. This is a big change from how the retailer typically handled selling PS5 consoles.
Similarly, Target has confirmed a massive change to how it handles selling PS5 consoles which could offer hope to gamers still after a next-gen console. The retailer will no longer be holding restock events but will instead allow individual stores to sell stock as they get it, so make sure to check your nearest location.

Amazon has introduced a new invite-only system for its PS5 restock – one that should finally give you a better chance to buy the PS5 from the mega-retailer if all of your previous attempts have ended in failure. Better still, you don’t need to be an member to register your details, either.
All you need to do to sign up is . Log in to your account and then you will see the option to request an invitation where the add to cart button is usually found.
Hit that and Amazon will send you an email with an exclusive link to buy the PS5 the next time the console is in stock. Be aware, though, that the link is only active for 72 hours and does not guarantee you a console as they cannot fulfill all requests. We fully expect the PS5 will sell out very early in that time window so you need to move fast when you get the alert. At least it’s much better than the randomly timed free-for-alls that Amazon usually holds for the PS5 every couple of months.

Though Amazon Canada doesn’t appear to restrict PS5 sales to Prime members, it seems like a long time since the console was available to buy. We’d suggest keeping an eye on that product description in case it’s updated with any information about exclusive early access for Amazon Prime members as that’s helped nail down restock dates in other regions.

Walmart has a PS5 restock landing page that delivers regular updates on the console’s availability. More often than not it states that the PS5 is unavailable but points you towards Walmart Canada on Twitter to get the most up to date news.
Best Buy: PS5 | PS5 Digital Edition
As well as online, Best Buy encourages you to check local stores for any availability of PS5 consoles. Sometimes the console store pages are updated with a notice that says ‘Coming Soon’ but that doesn’t give a clear or specific indication of when the PS5 will be available to buy. Just continue to check in regularly to avoid missing out.

GameStop currently only offers either the PS5 or PS5 Digital Edition as part of a bundle and these change all the time. Our advice? Check in regularly for updates on when the next set of PS5 bundles will be available to buy and what you can find in each one.

Where To Buy The Ps5
PS5 consoles sell out almost instantly, and the same happens every time the console goes back in stock. As of right now, the console doesnt appear to be in stock anywhere.
While availability is slowing improving, shortages are likely to continue for most of this year, as the PS5 is just one part of a larger industry-wide chip shortage that Sony itself said would continue to bottle-neck production through all of last year, though hopefully were through the worst of it now.
Still, stock keeps popping up briefly at various retailers, so its worth continuing to check often.
The following UK retailers are still allowing customers to request stock alerts, which means if you register now you could get a foot in the door once sales begin again.
You can also sign up to buy a PS5 directly from Sonys PlayStation Direct store. Previously only available for US customers, this is now also open to fans in the UK, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The company only has a limited amount of consoles available, and youll have to sign up with your PSN ID and hope that you get an email back with instructions on how to purchase a console.
There are also independent sellers on eBay auctioning the PS5, though wed advise going through standard retailers if at all possible to avoid potential complications and exorbitant prices.
