In all honestly, there’s little reason to buy a PS4 Pro right now unless your budget is strict. Not only is the PS5 a more powerful, faster box, but Sony’s efforts to enable backwards compatibility means that even if you buy a PS5, you won’t miss out on the PS4’s finest experiences, and probably those older than that, too. Most also run better than ever before, with games like Ghost of Tsushima now able to run at 60fps on PlayStation 5.
If you’ve been waiting this long to buy your first PS4, you might as well do so a little longer and either skip a generation and buy a PS5, or take advantage of an even cheaper PS4 Pro once the newer console launches.
That said, upgrading from a Pro is a tougher dilemma. The Pro already supports 4K for many games at decent performance, and you’ll need deep pockets for an 4K TV with HDMI 2.1 support to fully benefit from the PS5’s power and higher frame rates. As ever, early adopters pay a premium, so it’s worth waiting for that next-gen exclusive game you really can’t do without.
Ps4 Sold Out Worldwide Sony Promises Restock Soon
Looking to get your hands on a PS4? You might be out of luck. The next-gen console is currently out of stock around the world, but fret not: A new supply will be arriving shortly, said Sony.
PS4s are generally sold out at all retailers, although regular supply is refreshing the channel, Sony said during a slide show displayed during a PlayStation media summit on Feb. 10 in Santa Monica, Calif. The brand also stated it has increased its market share among what it described as heavy gamers.
This is a story of engagement, said Sony Computer Entertainment Head of Hardware Marketing John Koller during the summit. When demand outstrips supply, the promise of whats to come is really critical.
Koller divulged more PS4 fun facts, such as users playing more than 34 million hours per week and 90 percent of U.S. consoles being connected online. He also revealed that nearly 172 million hours of gameplay has been clocked on PS4s, with more than 48 million shares and 1.7 million hours of online live-streamed gameplay.
On Feb. 10, confirmed that 100 PS4 games will hit shelves during 2014.
Sony President and Group CEO Andrew House revealed that 4.2 million PlayStation 4s had been sold worldwide as of Dec. 28, 2013. House made the announcement at the 2014 International CES in early January. The Japanese electronics brand added that the PS4 was its most successful console launch of all time.
Playstation 5 Price: Game Bundles
We’re already seeing retailers start to bundle the PS5 with the most popular titles, including FIFA 21, Marvels Spider-Man Miles Morales, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Call of Duty. Just don’t expect the first bundles to be cheaper than buying a PS5 and a copy of the game separately demand is so high that retailers are unlikely to offer discounts at this stage.
Beyond games, we’re also seeing the PS5 bundled with other treats and temptations. On the hardware side, there are a a few options to purchase your PS5 with one of the official PS5 accessories such as the DualSense Controller. Sadly the Pulse 3D headset is currently sold out almost everywhere, so there’s no little chance of seeing that in bundle. . Games aside, the PS5 will act as an entertainment hub. Sony has revealed it will come with Netflix, Disney Plus, Apple TV, Spotify, Twitch and YouTube from day one. But, as we recently reported, the PS5 appears to lack both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

Game‘s PlayStation 5 listings page has been updated with a new release date of 17th September, which means Game could drop PS5 stock between 7th – 9th September. It typically drops around 10am, and then again around mid-afternoon.

The PS4 is one of the most hotly-anticipated new consoles of the year – the PlayStation 3 came out seven years ago in 2006.

When can I buy the PS4?
Pre-order sales for the PS4 are open now – although lots of retailers have closed pre-orders due to fears of running out of consoles before Christmas.
The UK release date for the PlayStation 4 is November 29, and it will go on sale at midnight at stores across the country.
Seth Barton of technology website Expert Reviews said: “If you’ve got a PS4 pre-order you will definitely get one for Christmas, but if you haven’t then that boat has sailed and you haven’t got a hope of getting one.
“It’s quite possible the console will sell out before Christmas and you won’t be able to get it.”
How much will it cost?
It will cost £349 – £80 cheaper than the Xbox One from Microsoft.
Some retailers raised the pre-order price by £50, which was criticised by fans and retail authorities alike.
Are there any bundles available?
You can buy a copy of either Killzone: Shadow Fall with the basic console pack . Amazon are selling both of these packs for £389 – a saving of £10.

Good news: GameStop is still selling the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro and is ready to ship right now. Best of all they are brand new models, and won’t cost you more than the MSRP. You should especially take advantage of the PS4 Pro availability if you want to play 4K games and can’t get your hands on a PS5.
Elsewhere, though, supplies of both versions of the PS4 are rapidly diminishing. Best Buy and Sony have the PS4 Slim in stock, but there’s no telling how long it will stay that way. Likewise Walmart and Amazon seem to have a lot of consoles available, but those are all well over the MSRP even the used ones. Avoid at all costs.
When Is The Among Us Xbox Release Date
Among Us comes to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in 2021 so says the headline of an official Xbox Wire blog post, confirming that Xbox consoles will also be joining the Among Us party later this year. Again, the exact date hasnt been announced, but well be sure to let you know when that changes.

The Media Create chart results are out for Japan, and it was a bit of a storming week for Nintendo, with Sony also enjoying a boost. The source of this is mostly the Dragon Quest series, which is absolutely massive business in Japan.
Unsurprisingly Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age leads in software, with figures very similar to those in Famitsu magazine. The 3DS version outsold the PS4 equivalent, with the two combining to surpass two million sales we can’t help but wonder how much the Switch could have benefitted from its version, too, but it’s currently in limbo.
Elsewhere in the software top 20 we can see positive continuing sales for Splatoon 2, while Layton’s Mystery Journey: Katrielle and The Millionaires’ Conspiracy is also ticking along nicely. The results are below with lifetime sales in brackets.

When Developers Will Stop Making Content For Last
While its hard to predict an exact number, its going to be at least a few years before PlayStation 4 games phase out completely, and the same likely goes for Xbox One. The production of the PlayStation 3 was only discontinued in 2017, as reported by Digital Spy – four years after the PlayStation 4 debuted in 2013. Even more telling, the latest game released for PlayStation 3 debuted this year: Shakedown: Hawaii released on August 20, 2020, when it also came to the Wii U, though it had debuted a year earlier on several different systems, including PS4, PS Vita, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, and Windows.
If precedence is any indication, then PS4 games could continue to release a similar seven years after the launch of PlayStation 5. At the moment, there are already many games announced for a PS4 release as PS5 approaches, some of which may get ported to next-gen if theyre successful. Many games that are still in development for current-generation consoles are simply too far along in production or have too much of a financial commitment to make a next-gen release possible. At the same time, many titles have been confirmed for a cross-gen release, with remastered versions set to release on PlayStation 5 after their initial debut.

A Sony Xperia smartphone, tablet or the PlayStation Vita can be used for streaming gameplay from the console to handheld, allowing supported games to be played remotely from around a household or away from home. Sony has ambitions to make all PS4 games playable on PlayStation Vita. Developers can add Vita-specific controls for use via Remote Play. This feature was later expanded to enable PS4 Remote Play functionality on Microsoft Windows PCs and on Apple OS X Macs. The update, released in April 2016, allows for Remote Play functionality on computers running Windows 8.1, Windows 10, OS X Yosemite, and OS X El Capitan.
