Will Fortnite On Ps5 Support Cross Platform Progression
As previously mentioned, Epic plans to support cross-progression across consoles, which would essentially mean that players on PS4 and other consoles will be able to carry forward their saved data without worrying about losing their in-game progress.
All items including cosmetics, seasonal battle passes, emotes etc will carry over as well.

How To Link Your Gaming System With An Epic Account Via A Code
The above method is the most traditional way for console and mobile players to sync their progress. If youre a PC player looking to add another device to their ecosystem, however, theres an alternative way of doing this.
When you first launch Fortnite on any console, including next-gen, youll be prompted with a warning telling you that you can link your progress through your existing Epic Games account. Clicking on Link an Account will forward to you a new page featuring a code and timer on the bottom of your screen.
Youll need a second device to complete this step in the easiest way possible since youll need to navigate to epicgames.com/activate. If youre already logged in, the screen where youll enter code should appear, but youll need to log in with your Epic Account, otherwise.
Upon entering the code, your gaming device will detect your progress through your Epic account, and your beloved character should appear on your screen as a result. This method is usually referred to as the slower way of doing things, and it works pretty much the same on platforms that Fortnites available other than PC.
Though the next-gen consoles havent hit the market just yet, this method should also apply to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Considering Fortnite will be available on the next-gen consoles at launch, it may be a good time to sync your progress with a PlayStation Network/Xbox Live account to make sure you can switch devices in case of server issues during the launch period.
How Will Fortnite Take Advantage On Next
More powerful hardware allows Epic to improve performance and visuals.
At launch, the version of Fortnite released on next-gen consoles will be built with Unreal Engine 4.

It will then be migrated to Unreal Engine 5 in mid-2021.
We know the PS5 will have the ability to put out 4k at 120 FPS, but it’s unclear whether this will be available for Fortnite at launch.
The Unreal Engine 5 was revealed in an impressive tech demo.
It has a number of features that make it one of the most exciting announcements in the gaming industry.
There are two standout features of the new engine, called Lumen and Nanite.
We’ll likely get some more information regarding the new Unreal Engine at the PS5 Reveal Event later this week.
Put simply, Nanite allows developers to import extremely high-detailed source material, but as ‘virtualised geometry’. In short – developers can add insanely detailed items into the game easily.
It’s exciting to imagine the potential for this with Fortnite!
Lumen concerns itself with lighting and is an incredibly impressive feature of Unreal Engine 5.
This feature allows for lighting to be fully dynamic, in other words, change depending on the environment.
It calculates shadows and reflections on the fly, creating real-time and very realistic behaviour.
You’ll even see that shining a light in the tech demo makes some insects scurry away! Amazing stuff.

Epic Games are having a bunch of issues today. Having announced that Discord is available to download on the Epic Games store and offering players free Discord Nitro, theyve had nothing but problem after problem.
They are still currently facing issues with their emails. Players have reported issues of not receiving emails to verified their 2FA or when theyre registering for a brand new Epic Games account. The update was first reported a few hours ago, but there have been no updates since.
Since the launch of chapter 2 season 7, Epic have been facing issues with performance with a large number of players reporting issues with lag. They released a maintenance patch update yesterday for PC followed by an update on PS4, PS5, and Android, but Xbox are still facing issues.
Xbox Series X Comparison
Fortnite is a quality game in its own right and doesn’t rely on super high-tech graphic to make it stand out.
Even if there is a slight difference in the capability between PS5 and Xbox Series X, does expect the game to run any differently.
This also opens the door for cross-play – so the choice of console is solely down to you!

Step 1: Navigate to the Main Menu.
Step 2: Make sure the second controller is connected to your console and is turned on.
Step 3: Once connected, the second player should be invited to select their account.
Step 4: After signing in, the second player will now appear in the Fortnite lobby.
Step 5: That’s all there is to it! You’ll now be able to hop into games together and fight toward a Victory Royale. However, there are a few important restrictions to be aware of.

Fortnite Is Ps5’s Most
Sony reveals the most-played game on the PlayStation 5 during the console’s first year of release has been free-to-play Fortnite.
Sony has revealed the PlayStation 5‘s most popular games from the console’s first year on the market, and Fortnite has taken the top spot. The PS5 fell just short of PS4 in terms of its first-year sales, with the console selling 13 million units in 2020-21. However, that has more to do with console shortages than a lack of customer interest, as it’s still difficult to purchase a PS5 due to high demand.
Today marks the first anniversary of the PS5’s launch in the US, and PlayStation has officially listed the ten most-played PS5 games during the console’s inaugural year. Fortnite topped the list, which isn’t too surprising considering the battle royale’s popularity and the fact that it’s free-to-play. The only PlayStation exclusive games on the top-ten list are and Demon’s Souls, which hold the eighth and ninth spots, respectively.
