How Does The Ps5s Stand Work
In horizontal mode, the stand sits directly below the PlayStation 5 with two small plastic hooks that rest in the back of the console. These hooks, along with a raised section of the stand in the middle, keep the PS5 stable using only friction and the weight of the console.
When the PS5 is vertical, the stand is held in place by a screw which, when not being used, is conveniently stored in a secret compartment in the stand itself. In this position, the screw is the only thing holding the stand onto the PlayStation 5, but theres no need to worry, as its a fairly hefty screw. If you dont have a screwdriver around, you can also use a coin to screw it in.

Which Way Do I Insert Discs Into The Ps5
When the PS5 is in its vertical orientation, the proper direction of a disc may not be intuitive.
The PS5s disc slot should be on the bottom when the system is lying horizontally . Obviously, discs should be inserted into the slot with the printed side facing up. To stand up the PS5, you essentially turn the unit 90° counterclockwise. So when you insert a disc into a vertical PS5, make sure to do so with the printed side facing to the left i.e., facing toward the center of the console.

In this colorful 3D platformer, you can feel and hear the subtle impact of grains of sand while walking through a storm, or experience a smooth gliding sensation when skating over ice, just to name a few examples. Everything from pulling on a rope to gliding around in a jetpack generates an extremely detailed level of force feedback. Its the kind of thing you truly need to feel to believe.

The adaptive triggers are especially impressive, as they can become harder to actuate based on whats happening in-game. The PlayStation 5 is coming soon. How soon? Soon enough that we have a final retail unit to unbox and examine in detail. Sorry, no hands-on with the games or UI yet, that will have to wait a little longer. But we can now get a close-up look at what comes in the box and what doesn’t, and find out more about the look and feel of the console itself.

Looking back at our unboxing of the first-gen PS4 back in 2013, the setup was similar, but back then the controller cable was USB-A to Micro-USB, and the PS4 included a simple headset mic in the box. That’s not included here, but the new controller does have a built-in mic.

Standard PS5 storage is 825GB, but how many games fit on a PS5?
How much storage does the PS5 have, and how big is the PS5 hard drive when it comes to pure memory? The PS5 utilises an SSD drive for better and worse – it’s a faster, more powerful drive than the standard HDD, but it’s more expensive for the same amount of space. And on top of that, while it technically boasts a respectable 825GB of storage, game files are getting bigger and some of that space has to be taken up with the operating system – so it might be less than you’d think. Either way, it means that the 825GB number touted isn’t the full picture of the available PS5 storage space. So here’s everything you need to know about how much storage the PS5 has.
There Are Actually Two Ps5 Consoles But Theyre Largely The Same
Like Microsoft, Sony is actually selling two versions of its upcoming next-generation console. For $499.99, you can buy a PS5 with a 4K Blu-ray drive. But for $100 less, at $399.99, you can buy the Digital Edition PS5 . Unlike Microsoft, the only thing that differentiates those two versions is which console has a disc drive and how much each one costs.
The PS5 is powered by a custom eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU and a custom AMD Radeon RDNA 2-based GPU that will provide 10.28 teraflops of raw graphical power. The console also uses variable frequencies on both the PS5s CPU and GPU, which could theoretically push the graphics to run slightly faster than normal when the CPU isnt running at peak. Though it sounds like the difference is minimal based on this technical presentation :
And that game-changing SSD I mentioned earlier? It has 825GB of storage and 5.5GB/s of throughput which could be fast enough to let game developers build levels without things like elevator rides or winding corridors that actually mask levels loading in the background. Should I Buy The Ps5 Digital Edition
You should probably buy the PS5 Digital Edition if you know youre going to solely buy digital copies of games. Its the cheaper of the two consoles, so if you plan on only buying digital copies of your games, why not go with the cheaper option?
If you own a PS4 and you bought digital copies of games on that console, Sony has confirmed that you will be able to transfer those digital copies to the PS5 Digital Edition.
Depending on how much you game, or rather how many games you download, you might fill up that 667GB of usable SSD in no time. To add more internal storage for PS5 games, youll need to add an extra SSD thats been certified by Sony. At this point, Sony has made the supported software publicly available, and you can follow instructions on its website to learn how to put a good SSD into your PS5 such as this one. Most high-quality high-speed m.2 SSDs will work with the PS5, but the general rule is, the higher the speed, the better.

Can I Use Ssd On Ps5
You can use an SSD drive both internally and externally on the PS5. Internal drives have to be M.2 NVMe drives and need to meet the requirements listed above in #2. External SSDs need to use USB 3.0 or higher and cannot be used to run PS5 games. It is worth noting that newer SSD drives have had some compatibility issues with the PS5 because of newer driver firmware. If you have trouble running a new SSD try updating the PS5 to the latest firmware. And continue to test it after new firmware updates.

What Is The Ps5 Price
The PS5 price is $499.99 in the USA, £449.99 in the UK, and $749.99 in Australia. If you can live without a disc-drive and are happy to only have access to digital games then you might want to consider the PS5 Digital Edition price of $399.99 in the USA, £359.99 in the UK, and $599.99 in Australia.
For sure, both aren’t cheap, but we were certainly bracing for even higher prices before Sony finally confirmed them. Given the immense popularity and scarcity, we certainly wouldn’t expect any sort of price drop for the next few years though.
No matter how you look at it, that’s very comparable to the Xbox Series X price. And even though the PS5 Digital Edition is still a fair bit more than the Xbox Series S price, it’s not bad going considering the fact that this is the same PS5 console bar a disc drive.
Regardless of which system you get, they’re all great value the PS5 and Xbox Series X rival the best gaming PCs in terms of tech. Considering the fact that graphics cards like the brand-new RTX 3080 cost many hundreds of dollars alone, we dread to think how much all of the PS5’s components would cost separately. Not that anyone can buy RTX 3080 stock right now.
The high price of a PS5 is in part due to Sony teaming up with hardware giant AMD again to create best-in-class PS5 specs. More specifically, a modified third-generation Ryzen 3 processor and advanced Navi-based graphics that has enabled ray tracing, a supremely fancy lighting system.
If You Want To Delete Everything On The External Hard Drive At Once
1. Once again, open the Settings app, select Storage, and then USB Extended Storage.
2. Click the three dots next to the Safely Remove from PS5 option.
3. Select Format as exFAT.
This will erase everything on the drive, and return it to factory default settings. This means that if you want to use it with your PS5 again, you’ll have to set it up from scratch.
This is also the method you’ll use if you want to totally unpair the external hard drive from your PS5 and use it with another device.
