PlayStation Direct is often the best and easiest way to get a PlayStation 5 console. However, when it is back in stock, its usually unclear exactly how much inventory will be available. But the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition consoles are often back in stock simultaneously.
Now, for the good news and the bad news. The bad news is these are invite-only restock events at first.
Usually, for one hour, PlayStation Network members who signed up at this link and received early access invites will be able to purchase a new PlayStation 5 console. But then, if theres any inventory left after an hour, Sony typically opens up the queue to all PSN members.

When Will The Ps5 Be Back In Stock
Unfortunately its difficult to predict exactly when more stock will appear, and it often appears at short notice, so the best bet is to keep an eye on all the retailers, and sign up for as many stock alerts as possible.
While availability is improving slightly, progress is slow. Thats thanks in large part to the ongoing global semiconductor shortage, which has reduced the availability of a few key components of the console.
I dont think demand is calming down this year and even if we secure a lot more devices and produce many more units of the PlayStation 5 next year , our supply wouldnt be able to catch up with demand, Sonys chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki told analysts, according to Bloomberg.
Despite that pessimism, Sony forecast to sell at least 14.8 million consoles last financial year, after selling 7.8 million between the November launch and 31 March 2021. That pace will keep PS5 sales on track with the PS4, which has now sold more than 115.9 million units.
Its also worth noting that its been reported that there is less stock for the PS5 Digital Edition than the regular PS5, with the ratio apparently as high at 80:20 at some stores. That means you should be prepared to pay more for the standard console if you can afford it, as you might have a better chance of securing one.

It’s been more than seven years since the last PlayStation console, the PS4, and the world has been eagerly awaiting a more advanced model. And that’s exactly what Sony has delivered. The PS5 offers a huge leap in gaming, and there are a lot of amazing games for the platform.

Youll notice that there are two PS5 Digital console configurations in the GameStop PS5 restock, while theres only one Madden-fronted PS5 Disc bundle. Thats a switch. GameStop and all US retailer stores have been stingy with PS5 Digital inventory . Theres a better shot at getting Digital during this particular PS5 restock.
Next Gamestop Ps5 Restock Time
Each GameStop PS5 restock time is 9am local time on weekends in the US, and my Twitter tracker usually detects a PS5 restock at stores once a month. GameStop store locations can open at late as 11am or 12pm in rare cases. A few stores sell out on day one, but many locations still have a few bundles on day two if you look around.

Playstation 5 Price: Recent History
After much waiting, Sony announced the price and release date of the PS5 on 16th September 2020.
The company set the price of the PS5 Digital Edition at £360 / $400 / AU$599, and the PS5 disc edition at £450 / $490 / AU$749. That came as a pleasant surprise to those who’d expected the PS5 to be priced higher than the rival Xbox Series X.
In August 2022, Sony raised the price in certain territories, the UK and Australia among them. British buyers will now pay £479.99 for the standard PS5, and £389.99 for the PS5 Digital Edition without a Blu-ray disc drive. Australian gamers will now pay AU$799.95 and AU$649.95 respectively.
Prices are also going up in Europe, Japan, China, Mexico and Canada, but the US price remains unchanged.
With demand continuing to outstrip supply in 2022, finding a PS5 deal continues to be a challenge . Could the rumoured launch of the PS5 Pro in 2023/24 trigger a major PS5 price drop? Fingers crossed.

Amazon is now accepting registrations for invite-only PS5 restocks. This is a big change from how the retailer typically handled selling PS5 consoles.
Similarly, Target has confirmed a massive change to how it handles selling PS5 consoles which could offer hope to gamers still after a next-gen console. The retailer will no longer be holding restock events but will instead allow individual stores to sell stock as they get it, so make sure to check your nearest location.

When Was The Ps5 Released
The PS5 was released on 19 November 2020 in the UK and sold out instantly. Some of the people who pre-ordered the console on Amazon found themselves greeted with not a shiny new PS5, but a bag of grain, a grill or some cat food instead. Despite being out for more than a year now, the PS5 is still extremely difficult to find.
How Much Is The Ps5
The PS5 disc edition used to cost £449.99 and the PS5 digital edition used to cost £359.99, but as of 25 August, Sony has increased these prices by £30. The PS5 is now more expensive than the Xbox series X, costing £479.99 vs the series Xs £449.99. The digital edition PS5 now costs £389.99, thats significantly more expensive than the Xbox series S, which still costs £249.99. On 19 May, Sony released its first official PS5 bundle package, and it is now the console bundle that most retailers opt for when they restock the next-gen machine. It comes with Horizon Forbidden West. Sadly, this bundle has also increased by £30, and costs either £439.99 for the digital edition console or £529.99 for the disc edition console. Some retailers are still selling the standalone console and bundles for the old price, and weve highlighted which ones above.

Target is another good place to check. The problem is that unfortunately, its usually not easy to find the PlayStation 5 console in stock at Target. The restocks are made available at individual stores and not nationwide. The PS5 goes fast when it returns to Targets inventory, and heres the link you need to keep your eye on:

First tip: Don’t wait until you see an alert for a PS5 inventory drop. Check the links at major retailers for stock updates daily or even multiple times a day. If you do happen upon some PS5 availability, go all-in with as many browsers and devices as possible. On a desktop, for example, open the retailer’s page in Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Then do the same on your phone and tablet. The more devices and browsers, the better. It’s like with lottery tickets: The more you have, the better your chances of winning.
